Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

Like Liza I can be a tad bit obsessive about placement.
There are some collections that I'm OK buying from DS, and others that I would never buy without seeing placement first. I've happily paid over retail for a bag that really spoke to me. And since I've also been able to pick up a few deals at well under MSRP, I figure it all balances out.

Also keep in mind that after all the darn fees an e-bay seller would have to charge over $300 in order to clear $270 (MSRP on the Kristin Tote)

Not making excuses, just pointing out that the seller may not be making as much as it seems at first glance, unless they were able to get a great deal to begin with of course.

I tend to bring multiple handbags home, line them up, and just look at them until I decide which I like best. I often list the ones I decide not to keep on e-bay. Lots of times they'll sell for over MSRP, but I'll still lose money on the deal.

And outside pockets. I usually throw my cell phone or keys or train or bus tickets when I am commuting to NYC in an outside pocket so I do not have to open the bag.

Anyone have a picture of the messenger bag on someone. I would love to see the size. I don't like it because it has a big flap over the top but I do like the back pocket. I am interested in seeing the size.

I know I've seen a picture posted here before but can't find it...just how much will fit in a wristlet?

I'm thinking of getting one online but I don't know if my iPhone, chapstick, driver's license and a few other credit cards will all fit.

I used the sketch wristlet to see if you could fit the inhaler and your phone. I don't have an Iphone so I used an ipod instead. There is still room for keys, and possibly a lipgloss or a thin wallet. Hope this helps.

What style are you thinking of getting in the 40th anniversary print ??? I love the new print but I think the Kristen tote won't work for me because of the short straps as I prefer a shoulder bag I am really hoping for the bucket style or something like the Wonder tote and I especially want the wallet

I'm hoping you Disney Dooney addicts can help me out - I've looked at one or two of these bags during my recent trips and see that though the main material is cloth, the accents and straps are leather. Are any of the bags available without leather?

I ended up winning the auction. It's a purple sketch wristlet. I have the 2nd edition Sketch tassle tote purse so this is my 2nd Disney Dooney.

The pictures on the auction are dark but I love that Tink is on the front and back and that the word Disneyland is pretty much on the front too. I'll post my own pictures when I get it.

Oh no. You missed them. They were at Epcot on Sunday and Magic Kingdom on Monday. Go back a few pages and you'll see some pics I took on Sunday and a link to a website that posted some from Monday.

This thread is absolutely killing me!!

I was perfectly content getting the sketch medium tote that was on the disney store website. Then I see the "lucy" and HAVE to have that bag which led to much investigating and ordering THREE and now I'm thinking I'd rather have the 40th tote!! Ahhhhhh!! (BTW, in case anyone is interested, even though they are for sale in WDW, WDW merchandising said you cannot purchase those bags through them at this time! )

I'm sure someone will buy it. I have paid more than retail on an item on ebay when I see the exact placement I want. Ordering from disneyshopping.com unfortunately you have no idea what your disney dooney will look like. But, I am not bidding on the kirsten tote. I wonder if any diser is or intends to bid on the messenger bag. It could be a bidding frenzy if several disney dooney addicts want it. I hope to choose my 40th bag if I get to go in October. Otherwise, I hope someone is willing to ship me a bag if they have an upcoming trip If all else fails EBAY, if I find a reasonable price Now to decide what style

I got my first edition sketch Cindy tote a day or two after they became available at WDW and when I saw it I snatched it up without even thinking about pattern placement. After I realized it was the kind of print where placement matters, I was still pretty happy with the bag I got. I was not fussy at all about placement on the Wonder tassel or Tonal Mickey bag but I can see why placement is important on the DL55 bags. As for the WDW40 bags, so far all the ones in the photos on the board here look good. I'm thinking it might not be a pattern I'll feel the need to necessarily hand pick. But I might feel differently after seeing mroe photos. If I can't wait til my next trip and they become available on ds.com I might order online but I also think brining it home as a souvenir is also part of the fun!

Hey all I am back! It was too hard to post or send the pics from my phone. I think you guys have seen all the pics of the styles and the prices already? I was getting so bummed, WoD and TrenD on Sunday had no idea about the bags. I showed them the e-bay pics and they got really excited and said they wanted to find out more. I swear I almost passed out when I was at Mousegears on Monday night, and I happened to glance at the Dooney wall, yet again, and there they were!!!!!!
I had taken my Wonder tassel with me, that I had bought in August, and they let me return it so the new bag didn't cost me much at all!

I think I have said goodbye to Vera and hello to Disney Dooney! I got my large sketch & wristlet during my late summer trip to WDW, then the balloon Susanna & cosmetic on Cyber Monday... hoping that my DCL large sketch comes through on eBay...and now the 40th anniversary Kristen and possibly wallet? OMG I will go broke! I love these bags and will have to start saving for the 40th Anniversary pieces!

@DVCsince02 - your Kristen is Gorgeous - your friend did so well! I'm hoping when I finally get one, that Goofy will be easy to see - that's one reason I splurged for a DCL bag, I love Goofy!

And thanks to NikkiLovesWDW for helping me out with the Kristen stats while I was stuck with just my phone for internet.

Yes, I did have the receipt and tags on. They had to call a manager, and I could tell she wanted to say yes, but was looking to find a reason. I told her I didn't like that it's unlined and she says "ok, since its unlined I can return it" LOL.
