Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

I forgot they did a 55th pattern in a wallet I would love the 40th in a wallet and can only imagine how long it would take me to pick my placement

........ add me to that list too! I'm using the balloon cosmetic bag for now, but it would be nice to have a "real" wallet to go with my medium sketch bag!

Sheila, when I was in disney this past xmas trip, I went to WOD to see the disney dooneys. While standing near the registers, where they keep the bags I was trying to find a purple sketch with both Tink and Mickey on the front. I didn't want to take up too much time at the register since there was a big line to pay. Well the lady next to me was buying a white sketch purse and did not even glance at the placement when the cashier gave it to her. Now I had 3 letter carriers in front of me and was still having doubts on the placement. This truly is an obsession!!

Or, maybe she got lucky like I did. I walked into the store at Downtown Disney (the big store, whose name escapes me now - World of Disney store?) & the PERFECT medium sketch bag was right in front of me. Unfortunately, I wanted the wristlet too & had to go thru at least 10 of them before I found my "perfect" one (but it was a LOT easier for the lady behind the counter to bring out 10 wristlets than 10 medium sketch bags!) It also helped that the lady helping me was not one of the cashiers - she saw I was looking at the bags for a couple of minutes & then went behind the counter to help me. Unfortunately for her, once people saw what she was doing (& being so nice about it going thru all the wristlets with me), they started lining up behind me so they could do the same thing! Must have been at least 2 or 3 people lined up behind me to go thru the bags. I apoligized but she just smiled & said that was what she was there for!
Maybe they should have a "dedicated" are in the store just for the bags - it would make it easier on the cashiers & the people waiting in line. Plus, with all the construction they're doing in Downtown Disney, ..... maybe someone should put a bug in their ear about just making a Dooney dedicated store!

OF COURSE they should have the purses set up in a way that you can easily "choose!" That side of the room should be a counter like the jewelry area across the way... where you can walk up and ask to see things and decide which one you want. I was there at Xmas and could not even get close to really LOOK at the purses. The store was crazy crowded and the line snaked around so you could not even get close to see them. I was disappointed... wanted to see the letter carrier bags up close. Now I am glad I saved my Xmas $$$ because I sure like the looks of the 40th anniversary print.

I was at the MK and DTD today hoping to see the new 40th anniversary bags, but no such luck. Just the same old patterns at both locations. I really want to see the 40th bags up close. I'm sort of disappointed they look so much like the 55th Disneyland pattern, but it's hard to really tell from that Ebay picture. I hope someone spots the new bags soon.

This is my first post in this thread. I really want to buy the Wonder tote and wristlet while at Disney in 2 weeks. My friend is there now and hasn't seen that pattern anywhere. Do you know if it is still available and where? I could buy online but a big part of the excitment is to finally get my bag while at Disney World.

First let me say that I only kind of, sort of trust info I get from CM's about the D&B bags. I've been given information that I knew was incorrect too many times.

That said, I was told by a CM that the balloon collection is replacing the Wonder collection as it is being retired. Whether that's true or not, I have no idea.

They had a few bags from the Wonder collection in the shop on the cruise line recently. But I haven't seen much from that collection at DLR for quite awhile. So it doesn't surprise me that your friend hasn't seen them at WDW either.

After visiting today, and seeing a lot of Wonders, I think your friend just needs more specific directions on where to look. They definitely had them at World of Disney, Trend D, and Uptown Jewler's today. I'm pretty confident the other stores that carry them probably still have them in stock too. Hope your friend spots them for you. Good luck.

She said the jewelry store had no bags so I am wondering if she even looked. I am so thankful for your replies. I will check out the 3 stores you listed for me and hope I get lucky. I have wanted the black Wonder tote for a while now and finally will treat myself . Hope I can find the matching wristlet too.

I am new here too! I am Jami and am also very interested in adding the new 40th anniversary edition messenger bag to my D&B collection! I will be down in April and am hoping to be able to pick one up! I heard about the new Disney Dream bag and thought maybe that was the bag for me (doing a Dream cruise in August) but really wasn't that crazy over the pattern. So 40th anniversary here I come!

Hi Nicole.. I was in disney this past xmas and was looking at the wonder medium tote that sells for $220. I also checked ebay and got the same purse for $160 with free shipping. I saved $73 with ebay! Maybe that is another option for you Have a wonderful trip
