Seems like it has been such a long and painful wait for this 40th bag. I sure hope I find one.

I was there last week, and when I was looking there were few on the Oct 2 day, but I think a lot of people bought them for the birthday celebration, but by the 5th, they were everywhere, most places had plenty of them. Good luck on finding the perfect bag!

No sign of the comic bags yet, though a cm told me they are listed in the warehouse as of Oct. 3. I went to stores in the yacht club, beach club and boardwalk today on my way to epcot. I still see no 40th wristlets or letter carriers and very few 40th bags in those locations. Mostly sketch, colorful sketch and balloon bags.

I did, however pick up a Harvey steamboat Willie messenger! The computer rang our AP as a premium so I got 20% off too! Thanks to the previous poster who told me yacht club had them!

Totally unrelated but we were also looking for the H20 lotion (all products are 30% off)...they were hard to find but we picked up 2 at BW. Got word from a cm that the sale on those will soon be over.

Fellow Dooney lovers can relate...I would like to use my new Harvey now but I'm afraid with food and wine that there will be an accident no stain remover can resolve. I'm not using my 40th messenger yet because I'm still on the lookout for placement. All this paranoia!

Tommorrow we'll head to MK so I am hoping to see the comic bag there...

I wanted in order: pluto, donald and goofy, walt, the original map, the banner, mickey/minnie w/ the heart, and if possible, at least a partial of all 4 parks-and I got it!!! Best of all, it was "gently used (still smells new, though LOL) and I got $70 plus tax off retail- I'm so happy

ETA: in the pic, walt is covered by the knot, but that's just because I was trying to get the medallion out of the way- usually he's fully visible...

A few weeks back when the parks merchandise was 25% off, I ordered a large Sketch tote from the website. Got it last Friday and I'm not loving it. I'm pleased with the back, but the front, well, it looks kind of empty. There is a crown on the left and it just seems like there should be something more descript there. A focal point, if you will. Tell me what you think:

Any opinions or words of encouragement? Hate to send it back and start over. I'm the sort of person who CAN'T pay full price for anything. I'm just wondering if I can hold onto it until we visit WDW in December and exchange it for one with better placement - do they allow this?

quirty~ I love the back of your bag. My large tote's front placement isn't as great as my Cindy, but my back is awesome, so I kept it. Plus, I got it on sale (one of those 20% premium AP rates, you know some of the CMs feel generous or don't know the difference! LOL).

Hard decision on that one. My vote is to keep it, but I'm thinking you can't return DS.com stuff at the parks and also there's a 30 return policy.
Also, can't hurt to call either. These bags do costs alot. Be the squeeky wheel.

missesdisney~the Wonder tote hasn't been at the parks for awhile. But you can find them on sale at the outlets and on EBAY!
I love my Wonder tote and matching wristlet.

quirty30 I think I would take it with me and exchange it for one that I loved even if you have to buy the new one and use that reciept to return the current one. At these prices you should love your bag not just like it.

I bought my large sketch at Mouse Gear in EPCOT and then exchanged it for a bag at Yacht Club, they were the same bag, but had two different SKU numbers. I had to have a manager come down to the store and do a visual before the girl behind the counter was "allowed" to do an exchange and they required a receipt.

I bought several disney dooneys once at WOD and Tren_D looking for the perfect placement on some bags and wristlets. When I went to return the bags that I did not want, it took a while for the cashier to match up my receipts with the actual bag since they all had different sku numbers but were in fact the same type of purse and style.

I am leaving one week from today to go to WDW. DH has all ready agreed to purchase a messenger bag for my anniversary gift while we are there. My question is, what stores offer discounts? We have Disney Visa and I will have an annual pass. I know that WoD, Uptown Jewelers, and Trend D offer discounts for the annual pass, but what about MouseGears? We will be spending most of our time in Epcot for Food and Wine and it would be great to get one there if possible.

Yes mouse gear offers the AP discount. Also, yacht club.

It looks like you have all the different characters and icons, and I don't see anything cut off in a particularly unfortunate place. So while the placement may not be perfect, I don't think it's bad, especially for a DS purchase. What counts is whether you're happy with it though. Good luck with your decision.

quirty30, I, too, ordered a sketch (medium) recently when they had their 25% off plus free shipping sale (I, too, can't stand paying full price for anything), and I, too, am not pleased with the placement I got. (I like your's better...both of my castles are in the same place as yours but on the back side, and my main hope was that the castle would be highly visible) It's too much money for me to pay and not be over the moon about it! Oh, well, I knew the risk going in...I'll just have to pay the return shipping (I was told that I cannot exchange it at a Disney store) and wait for another sale...and hope! We won't be in the World for another year, so a Disney shopping spree is not the answer for me. (Someday my castle will come!)

I'm anxiously awaiting pricing info on the new bags. We're going in December and as of now I'll be buying an AP to keep our AP discounted room. So, my question then becomes Premium or Regular AP? The difference is $138.45. If the satchel is the same price as the Dream one ($275) that's $55 off with a 20% discount. If I'm picking up one for my sister that's $110. Or really $55 since I'd be getting 10% anyway. I need to figure out the math I guess and I just haven't had enough coffee today.

So... I finally caved and bought an Aulani tote off of EBAY. I got a decent price for it....well above retail, but less than most are paying. Then the USPS LOST the package for two weeks !!! I was frantic and furious. The seller was great to deal with and immediately started tracking procedures. It finally showed up last night; the box looking like it had been run over, payed with by large animals....just awful.

Thankfully, when I got the box opened, the purse was fine ! My birthday/Christmas present to myself ! I will try to take some pictures and post soon.

Still thinking I need a black balloon of some sort, but need to recover from the Aulani purchase first !
