I know this is probably in the wrong spot but I didn't know where else to ask...

My family: Grandma, Grandpa, Sis and her hubby, her two boys (3 & 1) and me, are going to see the Doodlebops in concert. I had a few questions if anyone has ever been...

Is the music really loud? We have like third row seats and we were thinking we should get ear plugs for the boys.

Also, is it possible to video? I assume that the show is copyrighted, but there is videos on you tube, so I was wondering if those were done illegal or if you actually could do video for your own personal use. I would love to film my nephews to give to family, it will be his second concert the first was Huey Lewis when he was like three months (state Fair freebie), and it will be my 1 year old nephews first concert.

What else can we expect? I imagine lots of fun, but I just want to know what to expect. Thanks for all the help.

I can't answer your questions....

But you might get some answers if this thread is moved to the community board.

Hi,

My family is going to see the Doodlebops this Saturday (the 16th), I can let you know about the noise level and if others are videotaping.

That's when we are going, :rotfl: that is so funny, thanks for offering though

It isn't too loud. We've attended two concerts, and the kids enjoyed both. I have a pic of them wearing the Doodlebop hair, but it's on my old computer- otherwise I'd post it. You are not allowed to film. If I remember right, you're technically not supposed to take flash pics, but nobody listens. It isn't enforced. I brought my boys to the first concert last year, and some lady was in our seats and refused to move. My husband brought them this year.

We were in the first row of the balcony when we went, so it wasn't too loud for us. But I can't say for sure since you'll be on the floor.

Technically you can't videotape any of it. But our digital camera allows us to short video clips and I'm sure my husband snuck a few in. To anybody watching it looks like you're just taking pictures.

I didn't think taking video was allowed, I can respect that I’ll just have to put the video camera in the diaper bag. I'm not worried about flash pictures, it will be during the day and outside so that should be fine.

My sister has a camera that does videotaping too and I thought about getting her to take it, but then I’d feel bad if I did video tape when I shouldn't be. I need to be practicing my good Disney karma for our Disneyland trip that’s coming. We want to get dreamed when we go.

AuntieTink, guess we will see you there then! Too funny you are going too. I should have known from your OP when you mentioned a "free" concert at the fair that you meant the California State Fair:rolleyes1

Don't worry about your flash. Seriously, no one even listened. I guarantee you, no one will say anything. Everyone else is taking pics and not heeding the rule.

I'm not a big one for breaking the rules either, but the way I figure it, we're not video taping for profit, which is their main concern. They don't want you selling the video. We've only used it for our memories - didn't email it to anybody or post in YouTube or anything like that. Of course DH was the one who do the video clips because I was too chicken, lol.

Hartyrollin...
What time are you going? We are going the early show, so hopefully it won't be too hot.

Heatherleigh...
Yeah, I’m not worried. It should be bright enough outside that we shouldn't even need a flash.

Disney JamieCa, I feel the same way...it's just for us to watch at home and maybe to give to the boys' great Aunt, cause she's loves the boys, but I don't plan on putting it on Youtube or anything. It's hard cause even though you know your not going to sell it for profit, other people don't. I'm too chicken to do it too and since I don't have a hubby, I may have grandpa do it. I don't even really want to film the Doodles themselves, just the boys. So we'll see.

But thank you all for your input.

AuntieTink, we are going to the early show too. Suppose to be 100 degrees on Saturday, so we think that is a better plan than the later show. Have fun!

DS and I did the Michigan Doodlebops show last January. We had fourth row on the floor seats, but we were to the left of the stage. DS was 2 at the time, and neither of us used earplugs, he never complained about the noise. (As a matter of fact-it was during naptime and he was trying to catch a few zzzs during the concert, but couldn't get comfortable :rotfl2: ). I did have my camera and you cuold take the kids to the stage for photos before the show and during the intermission. My camera has a video option on it and I did use it, but I was taping DS dancing around. No one said anything.

But, when I took DD to see Hannah a few weeks later at the same venue, we were sitting in the second tier and I was taping her dancing around when an usher came over and said I had to turn it off. So I guess it depends on who is around...

Also fyi becasue I had no idea when I took DS- When we entered the arena their was a place where you could pay to have a picture taken with cutouts of the Doodlebops, so I did, but the people behind me asked if they could take their own and the photographer let them.

Hope you all have a wonderful time!

Thanks so much for the info, we will probably buy some ear plugs anyway, just cause we our taking the little, little guy. It nice to know that you were able to take the kids to the stage to have a photo, hopefully the older one will do that, he’s photo picky, haha. Sorry to hear about DD and Hannah…that’s all I want to do is just video the older one’s face when he sees them. I think everyone should have a memory of their first concert (even though it will be his second, he was too little to remember the first.) Sorry about DD and Hannah, I wonder if it was because she is so popular right and they had more staff keeping an eye out for stuff like that. Anyway, thanks again :yay:
