Don't want to bring my walker but...

I cannot stand still for long stretches of time. I am fine while slowly walking, but I need to be able to sit occasionally...frequently. It is such a hassle to have my rollator mainly because of how many lines I am unable to go through and must go in the exit or use the elevator or ramps which get jammed up. Some cast members (and some guests) are not extremely friendly and I get tired of having to walk all over kingdom come when I'd prefer just to stand in the regular queue. Stairs are not an issue as long as I have a hand rail or my hubby to assist me. I would prefer to just bring a cane. I have not been to the parks since they changed how they handle guests with mobility issues.

Here's my question: If I go to a ride where I normally have to use an alternative entrance like Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Ride, Spaceship Earth, etc, what is the new procedure? Will I be giving a pass stating where I am in line and will there be somewhere I can sit, or will I need to stand and wait? I really want to avoid bringing my walker, but if I need it to sit I will have to. Thank you.

most lines you can get in either the FP or stand by line. I think there are 3 rides at MK ( JC, BTMRR some times small world, and only the FP line for space, and one at EPCOT spaceship earth that are not accessible. for these rides you will be given a return time to come back latter, wait time -10 minutes and the CM will let you know what to do where to go

a few more have stars in the line if you have a mobility device you will at the point of the stars be directed to another path, This is normally the point where stand by and FP meet and the line after this point is about 10 minutes, depending on how many people are a head of you in the alternative area your wait Ould be a walk on or you may wait 10-15 minute ( I go with a friend that uses a ECV and most times we wait here 5-10 minute, so pretty much what you would have done in the normal line)

for the times you are given a return time to come back, it depend on if you can find a place to sit, I went with some one that has not been to Disney in 15 years and they made a commit that they have taken away a lot of benches and laces to sit, so if you need a place to sit you should bring your own, ( wheel chair ECV roller) so that you will have one when you need it.

using a cane last year I had to use the alternative around the steps at the pull out spot at Splash Mountain. I was able to use regular line Spaceship Earth but I did not ride Peter Pan as I am not able to unload fast enough with moving walkway. biggest surprise was Toy Story where I was able to use new loading and avoid the steps not having to use wheelchair spot

The majority of queues at WDW are mainstreamed -- meaning those with mobility devices enter through the regular (standby or FP+) queue. If you are using a wheelchair or ECV, there are a few where you must use an alternate entrance. If you are using a cane, I'd think you can usually tuck it into the ride vehicle with you by your feet and likely no need to use the alternate wheelchair entrance. To avoid stairs, you simply inform the CM at the entrance and any along the queue; there will be a pull-off to skip the stairs at some point; it does not necessarily involve a separate entrance.

However, if you need to have a place to sit, either in line or while waiting, it is really best for you to provide that seat by means of a rollator, wheelchair or ECV. There are some benches but relatively few and far between, with no guarantee they won't be occupied when you need a seat.

Out of everything, the sitting will be the problem. Unfortunately Disney has been removing a lot of benches and those that are around are usually occupied. It would just be a matter of luck if you get a place to sit.

I. Thought my rollator after back surgery last year. As previously mentioned you go through most rides in regular line. It was invaluable waiting for parade. I cannot sit on ground or with unsupported back ever. It was so nice sitting g on it for the parade. The worst thing was the very bumpy surface in some areas of the parks that made it uncomfortable pushing the walker. That got to be pretty annoying. I didn't ride space mountain but they had me go in exit at spaceship earth where I waited for several ECV people to load first. They did ask if I could do stairs if necessary to evacuate. I can if have a handrail. I had fastpass for splash so basically went straight in exit. We used the new toy story section that doesn't have stairs once and another time the handicapped load area. We had fastpass for jungle cruise so they had me park the walker and walk in the fastpass line. I can do some short walks and waits without the walker.
