Morning everyone!!

Couchy - what a scary accident, so glad you are ok - rest up and feel better. We walk everywhere and I am so nervous about this happening with DD in the stroller.

I realize I'm still 3 months away, but I was daydreaming about our arrival lunch today and would love some input....

I'm guessing we'll arrive at the YC around 11-11:30am. We plan to hang out at the resort and not head to any parks our first day. Not sure whether we'll be able to check-in to a room at that time?

I was thinking we'd head to Beaches and Cream for lunch - but now I'm wondering if it will be crowded at lunch time...? After reading the recent posts about pool service - I'm wondering if we should skip B&C and just order food and drinks and relax at the pool (and see if DD will nap!). Which would you guys go far?

Wow, I just cannot keep up with this thread. :lmao:
Just 10 more days for me. I am super excited to try YC. We should be there by noon and then have about 4 hours until we head over to EP. Probably just enough time to wander around YC, get lunch at..... ? Where do you all suggest we get lunch? It will be our only time having lunch at the resort. Beaches & Cream? Do they have outdoor seating (if by some miracle it's not 90+ degrees). Not looking for a big sit down meal and we'll be having dinner at Cape May and Captain's grill other nights.

Beaches & Cream if the wait is not too long. If it is, maybe something from Hurricane Hanna's- I believe they serve the same burgers as B&C. It is outdoor seating.

If you need indoor seating, then you can grab something from the BC Marketplace (sandwich, flatbread, salad or grab and go sushi) to eat in your room, if it is ready, or maybe the Solarium which is right around the corner from the Marketplace.

Our trip later this month is our first time to YC, so I don't know exactly how the entrance to SAB works, but I've read that every person in your party has to have their KTTW card to get in. Are they able to let you in with the Magicband instead now that the test has started, does anyone know? Thanks :)

Looks like they are testing these at SAB now, so depending how it all works out, you may or may not be able to use Magicbands for SAB entry. Stay tuned for live reports from guests who are testing the system now.

True though I did not realize the KTTW card is waterproof.

The KTTW card is made of the same type of material as a gift card or credit card. I don't know if water can affect the magnetic strip or the RFID chip, but I think you can safely take it into the water.

Now, if you have separate theme park tickets- the ones with the characters on them- they are not so much waterproof. I had one jam the turnstiles last June after getting soaked at EP and not protecting the ticket.

In July we walked over to Boardwalk Bakery for lunch on arrival day. We had the Lobster Rolls and dessert!! They do have some tables outside, we were able to get one with no problem.

Just found this thread! :) So excited as we leave in 20 days! So much to do until then.

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas. I don't believe they are testing the Magic Bands there, right? Can I still make Fast Pass + reservations??? I don't see it available on my Disney Experience but we haven't purchased tickets yet.

Only 20 more days to go :cool1:

Can someone confirm that the health club is in YC and not BC. My dh is going to need to use the treadmill for his knee and I have no idea where it is

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1 for late August.

:cool1:

We have not seen anyone from BC or BCV being invited to the Magicband or Fast Pass plus testing.

Kind of in-between, maybe closer to YC. I entered from poolside, it was to the left of Beaches & Cream with my back to the pool. I assume there is an entrance from the inside corridor. Can anyone confirm this???

:thumbsup2

Oh, so it is in a separate building? Looking at the map in the beginning of the thread it looked like it was part of YC, but I dont have my glasses on

Looks like Lily may have found the Noodle family!!!

Just dropping in to say hi. :wave2: We're booked at the YC the first week in December. I've wanted to stay there since I was a teenager, but have always ended up at the Contemporary. I'm very excited to try something new! The place just looks so peaceful and lovely.

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Couchy, how are you feeling today?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Stiff and sore... had a few grumpy moments yesterday. I am a go go go type person so this is strange to sit and do nothing. Not allowed to drive for 2-3 weeks:scared1: So much to do though. On the phone with the guys insurance company. Did you know : If you get hit by a car while walking or riding a bike it is considered a car accident, therefore the pedestrian's health insurance will not pay any bills, it all has to go through the car insurance. This is all fine and good but man is it a pain.

Looks like the guy is going to be charged with texting while driving that caused bodily injury... it will be either a B or C misdemeanor.

I get the feeling most of us here are go go people so if you want to sound off here   .

Take care of yourself.......

It's our second to last day and a planned pool day, and DS wakes up with strep. They are on their way to CVS Minute Clinic( DH is ok with missing a little pool time). My son was so dissapointed!

It is all one building. The health club is in the middle section between the Yacht Club and Beach Club. If you look at this picture, you'll see the blue building, which is the Beach Club, the grey building, which is the Yacht Club, and the one story building in between. The health club, Beaches and Cream, and a few others things are in the one story building that connects the two resorts.

And if you look at the aerial view, it is easy to see how the YC/BC is contructed. That great big flat roof between the two resorts houses the restaurants and the other business areas of the two resorts. The area circled in yellow is where the health club is located. I just don't remember whether it is in the blue, BC section, or the grey, YC, section.

Holy Moly these YC/BC threads move fast... I think this is the 3rd thread since I started to check in for our August dates. Great job keeping up Dee! :goodvibes

Couchy: Wow! Sorry about that. I hope you recover quickly. :(

We're almost in single digits!! :)

Wood Nymph,

That SAB photo is just lovely! I am so looking forward to our vacation! :dance3:

B&C if not crowded would be my choice. Poolside is good choice too.

Add another indoor option: Crew's Cup is open by noon.

Thanks for the explanation. Is the only entrance to the Health Club from that walkway in between YC & BC?

Thanks, Brenda!!!

That's one of the reasons I have so much trouble keeping up with your trip report (and mine!!!)

Have you been invited to play with MagicBands for the YC portion of your trip?

My son woke up with strep on our last day last August.

We went to CentreCare past the Downtown Disney area and they were great. They examined him and gave him a script for anitbiotics which we filled at CVS right down the street. They were recommended to us from the wonderful CM's in CL. I would highly recommend them as well.

I have never been in the health club, so I really don't know the answer. Hopefully someone else does know. But I did find a map which makes it looks like the health club is in the Yacht Club section of that one story building.

I always did my running on the walkway around Crescent Lake. I could never run on a treadmill when there was such a gorgeous place to run outside. It was one of my favorite things to do when staying at the BC. :thumbsup2
