I'm from Sunnyvale, so we really were neighbors at one time!

DW and DL are hardly the same, but both are just as incredible as the other. Different things to love about each place.

Yes! I agree - we are doing 4 days at DLR next month. Hopefully the summer crowds will be gone.

A few of you asked, and I'll oblige.

Here are some pics of our bedroom and guest room.

The thing is...Ebay is a wonderful thing. On there, I found this BC roll pillow, and voila! Our bedroom winks at a BC, BWI theme.

Here's the bed...

Our bureau, which has our painting of BWI and a carousel music box my parents gave me a long time ago....

And our wall of "Good Night" cards. These are our turndown service cards from the GF and BWI. We thought them appropriate for the bedroom.

And now our guest room which is waaaaay more a blatant copy of one of our favorite resorts on this thread. I found this lamp on Ebay which most of you will recognize from YC.

And I had a deep red pillow...and we usually keep white sheets/blankets on the bed, so add a $20 navy blue blanket from Home Goods and you get our guest bed (complete with Henry, posing au natural for Ninja Mom).

Great guest room and an exceptionally handsome Mr. Kitty!

Just one or two!!!??? Those are some good movies!! Lilo and Stitch is a favorite around our house. It was the theme for our adoption party last weekend!

We leave 2 weeks from today!!

So is there any substance to the rumor that the Beach Club is planning a major refurbishment starting in January? We have reservations for Marathon weekend and I'd like an idea of disruptions at the resort.

So we got lucky and applied a discount to our Poly reservation and saved quite a bit, but unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing available for the Beach Club. However, we were able to get a discount at the Yacht Club so we are only switching sides and still get enjoy sunken treasures at SAB!

Our new reservation is 12/5-12/11. YC CL SV. Now I need to start obsessively reading about the other side!

The "regular", "normal" rehab that happens at EVERY Disney resort every 5 years was originally scheduled to start at the BC this Fall. However, for a number of reasons, the start date has been pushed back and no new exact start date has been released but the last word was possibly in January 2014. They start at the BC on the fifth floor and do section by section of each floor from fifth to first. Then they move to either the YC or BCV. It's a major room rehab. Chances are everybody on this thread has been at a Disney resort when this rehab has been going on and never even knew. All "noise" work is done during the day time when guests are at the pool or at the parks. The only time a guest is inconvenienced or even knows it is going on is if you happen to come back to the park during the day for maybe a nap and the room above you is being worked on. If that's the case and it inconveniences you, then tell the front desk and they will try to move you to another room that is nowhere near where they are working. Since the noise work is ONLY during the day, guests usually don't know it's even going on. This is normal rehab ... it happens at every resort. Rarely is any guest's vacation disrupted.

Yes and No. This is what we know. The Beach Club will be undergoing a refurbishment of all of the rooms starting next year. Like all Disney resorts, I think this happens every 5 years or so.

A definite start date has not been announced. January would be the earliest start date, but it could be later. Work will start on the 5th floor Club Level lounge (which will be moved to the Presidential Suite while work is being done) and then renovations will begin on the rooms, starting on the 5th floor and working the way down.

Disruption and inconvenience to guests will be kept to a minimum- areas of the resort where work is being done will probably be blocked off. Work will only happen during the day while most people are at the parks or pools.

This is my exact plan tomorrow. Leave the house around 5am. Jump on plane at 7. Arrive at 9:30- Magical express to BC hopefully no later than 11. Be at SAB for lunch

Teena, Jeanne and Lily had an amazing, magical day yesterday at Hollywood Studios!!! Highlight was lunch at Hollywood and Vine (how many times do you think that has ever been typed???)

Lily dined with her favorites from Playhouse Disney- Jake from the Neverland Pirates and a whole bunch of others - I have no idea who they are! I think Teena said Jake played hide and seek with Lily for quite some time.
