What is it about printing Boarding Passes that makes us soooooo happy!!!

Can't believe that I will be at BC tomorrow :cool1: DD wants to head over to DTD first thing after a lobster roll and pastry from BW bakery. Guess SAB will just have to wait!!

Yes, apparently there will be a huge section blocked off just for reservations.

While I love the idea of not having to wait for a super long time for the parades/shows, I can't help but wonder (much like Carrie Bradshaw), when will the time come when WDW won't be spontaneous at all? Some of the best times I've had at WDW have been unplanned. I'm referring to random walk-ups at restaurants we've never tried, or we love but thought would be over booked. I'm referring to going to attractions, shows or parades we've long forgotten or never done in the first place. I dunno, I'll ultimately trust the Disney Powers-That-Be, but I'm a little worried that every WDW trip will turn into Danny Tanner's trip (remember? with his "Clipboard O' Fun?"). Anyone else with me on this?

Yaaaaay! I can't agree with the lobster roll (shellfish allergy here), but I love just about anything from the BW Bakery! I can't wait to see it all refurbed in December.

I totally agree with you and will probably never use Fast Pass + except for parades and character greetings. We like to say, "what next?" We aren't big planners. Even with meals. We like to eat early ... old folks thing. So we can almost walk into dinner anywhere around 4 PM. It's nice. Remember Scott, you don't have to use this Fast Pass + thing. You can still be spontaneous.

I'm with you on this one ScottMC...I just went on MDE to check something on my upcoming reservation next month and I got a pop up about the bands and as I started reading it, all I kept thinking was: "I plan enough with EMH and dining reservations, not sure I want to start planning fast passes, attractions & parades too". And BTW, LOVED Full House!

On another note: I got my Mickey Mail yesterday...:banana:

ScottMC I am completely with you!! Remember the old communicore East and West at EPCOT? Where you talked to the WebCam CM and made same day reservations for dinner???

I miss being able to do that.

This weekend we have so much going on. Big party for my kids. They are turning 3 &7. How dare I have them 4 years &1 day apart. then it is disney, disney disney. Last minute items.

My children are also 4 years and a day apart. Jan 4 1997 and Jan 5 2001. Sometimes, planning just takes a back seat to chance. Have a fun party!

Wait? What? That's a new one on me. Was it a she and was she dressed like Judy Jetson? (fingers crossed)

It was a she, but I can't remember how she was dressed!! but being in Future World, Judy Jetson makes sense!!!

A question for any current BC/YC residents who have a moment to answer: are CMs visually checking KTTW cards to let people into SAB or are they scanning Magicbands too? Thanks so much!

I believe that it was reported that they haven't figured out how to make the Magic Bands work at SAB, so they will be issuing cards for that until everything gets up and running.

Now I know I am officially bus cursed. I waited longer for one bus than you did for all your buses.

I am accustomed to seeing the bus i need pull off as we walk up to each bus stop :wave2:

Well, there's your first mistake! I always approach the bus stop with my eyes closed so I don't witness this travesty of Disney transportation.

Yeah sure, ya trip over a ton of bushes and run in to a lot of trees, but after I get to the bus stop, a little wet from falling into the pond, I know in my heart that I didn't miss a single bus!

Now keep in mind that there is nobody actually at the bus stop when I arrive because they just got on the bus that pulled away 10 seconds ago. My family thinks this is just great because we get all the really nice bus stop seats to ourselves. This gives me time to remove all the algae from the pond soaking and I even get to drip dry while waiting in the privacy of my own empty bus stop.

The down side to this method is that your family is always yelling at you to open your eyes, get out of the bush and get moving because the bus is here! I never listen because as soon as the bus driver sees me start to run, he or she gleefully hits the gas and exits the stop at top speed, sending those unsecured scooters and power chairs sliding all over the bus. Chances are, if you spot a guest limping in a Disney Park, it's because I was running toward a bus with my eyes closed and the bus driver became alarmed and took off a little too early.

The next time you are at a Disney resort bus stop, and you see a large bush that has a human shaped hole in it think to yourself that Ninja Mom was here. Then just close your eyes and head in the approximate direction of the roaring bus engine!

I remember those days... it was like a madhouse like getting to Toy Story or Soarin' at rope drop! There were both male and female CMs and I think they had on the traditional Future World costuming. I think... :rotfl:

...that was a long time ago!

Teena, not sure I officially welcomed you home!!! So glad you loved it and created more wonderful memories with Lily and Jeanne. WDW and Newport in one summer - that's the perfect combination - lucky princess!

Dee, continue to enjoy! Love the reports!! Hope you grab a grey goose slushie while you're there. Great bus times - the force is with you!
Thanks for sending out a little cheer/dance for my PHM - it's sold out today, so I registered just in time.

15 of us (10 adults, 5 kids) stayed at POR but my dad stayed at Shades of Green and used Poly transportation for PHM things. He had the easiest time of all of us, FWIW. The other great part was that he slept until 7 that morning, walked to the end of the driveway, watched us run by at mile 8 (and it was so great to see him there I almost cried), then hopped the monorail and made it to the finish long before we did. Everyone else had to be on the bus by 7:00 to get to Epcot before the roads closed if they wanted to be at the finish to see us. The only reason I'm pushing POR for my family this time is we're not bringing any kids and my mom and her sisters (the four "sheep" who will stay wherever I do) are familiar with POR now and will be better off with a familiar resort, especially now that we're complicating it with Magicbands.

Thank you!!! This is exactly the kind of detailed info that's helpful in figuring out resort. So if we stay at BC, it sounds like my ChEAR squad would need to be up pretty early and grab a bus to the finish. Do the buses for spectators run frequently? What do you think of the ChEAR squad packages? Thought it might be festive for our three boys, and give them a place to be/sit while they wait.

Love the Carrie Bradshaw reference. :) I'm on the fence on all of this. I'm not particularly spontaneous, so I like all the planning and it works well for our youngest son, who has disability-related issues that make routines a good idea on vacation.

But I do think the moment-to-moment planning at WDW is really wearing out my husband and contributing to his Disney fatigue. We travel relatively frequently to a variety of different places, but none can be planned as thoroughly as WDW. But like Teena said, he can still choose to be spontaneous - like in January when I was timing the walk from Dolphin to YC - I passed by him at the marina, he was calling out to me, "I rented boats!" It was a ton of fun (and very good for me!) :)

With FP return time enforcement alone, I've found that it's far more difficult to make everything go according to plan. So we just get there super early, do as much as we can, pull a FP when we hit a wall (which we define as a more-than-15-minute wait), go to our lunch ADR, bail for the afternoon and head to Epcot in the evening.

FP+ for wishes and share a dream come true...

I can currently reserve them for friday, august 30.

the parade is for preferred viewing location in front of Cinderella's castle and is for arrival between 2:45 and 3:05

wishes is for rose garden viewing area with arrival between 8:35 and 8:55

To see the locations I needed to include them in my three choices. I added BTMRR and they gave me a bonus FP+ for pirates. I don't plan on keeping these choices but wanted to see where the viewing areas are.

My DH and I were just talking about this! We would rush to EPCOT to try and get a reservation at Alfredo's in Italy! :)
