This is my fear. Lol

Oh don't worry. The bus curse crosses all resorts and theme parks. Not resort specific. I think the buses showing up for Dee on time all the time is part of the curse. They know she'll come tell me so it just makes it worse.

Oh and that NM plan. Been there done that. Walked right out in front of a bus. It didn't stop for me either......Man did that hurt.

I just got an email from my travel agent saying we have been selected to test the Magic Bands during our upcoming stay at the YC! We will give it a go and see how it all works!

Ahhhhhh.....my reward after traipsing thru Epcot this morning. :-)

That looks delicious & refreshing! Seems like there are lots of good drinks to be had poolside!

I believe that it was reported that they haven't figured out how to make the Magic Bands work at SAB, so they will be issuing cards for that until everything gets up and running.

Thank you!

Thank you!!! This is exactly the kind of detailed info that's helpful in figuring out resort. So if we stay at BC, it sounds like my ChEAR squad would need to be up pretty early and grab a bus to the finish. Do the buses for spectators run frequently? What do you think of the ChEAR squad packages? Thought it might be festive for our three boys, and give them a place to be/sit while they wait.

Hold on -- I'm going to look and see what specific info I've saved that might be helpful!

We just arrived this morning after our Disney Dream cruise and we were upgraded to concierge! First time for us after two previous stays here and one at the Yacht Club. We got a full balcony as well. We have a rooftop view, but also one of the pool. It doesn't matter to me though. We are feeling the magic already!! My daughter is celebrating her 13th birthday, so it made for an especially nice surprise with the upgrade. Hope everyone who is here is having a great time. Maybe we'll see you around the pool!
:cool1:

Kind of an off topic question....This will be only my 2nd trip to WDW ever coming up in October. Since I have been following the Disboards, I have noticed most people go quite frequently. I want to be one of those people. Lol

So.... How often do you go? Have you always travelled like that or is it more as kids get older/grown? Do you have a vacation other spots as well or just mainly Disney?

Thanks!!! :-)

I'm struggling a bit with Disney balance myself. Disney is an easy vacation for us -- we know how to manage it, and this will be our 4th trip. Vacation planning falls to me as does managing everything while we're there, and that's not really a vacation! :) Still, I feel like we should be taking the boys other places more often, although last year we went to Boston, two years ago it was DC, three years ago the beach in NC. We've been to Maine and Baltimore for weekends and seen family in upstate NY. I hope that helps!

Mostly caught up except for a few pages in the fifties.

Enjoying my coffee with some tropical trail mix from the lounge this morning.

Had another great day.

Then to dtd for trex and Lego store.
cab from dtd to BC was $13 plus tip. 10 minutes. Worth every penny.

Buses so far. Mk at noon 5 min wait 15 min ride. AK 7:30 am no wait 15 min. Dtd 6 pm no wait stopped at bw 20 min ride.

When we got back watched fireworks from sab and met catho72.

Cathy I can post a photo after I am home if you are ok with that.

Not nearly enough time at the resort but that's the way my family rolls!

Sounds awesome :)

What is it about printing Boarding Passes that makes us soooooo happy!!!

Can't believe that I will be at BC tomorrow :cool1: DD wants to head over to DTD first thing after a lobster roll and pastry from BW bakery. Guess SAB will just have to wait!!

Have fun

About every 3 years now...at one time it was once or twice a year and that got too much! Had our honeymoon there (WL) and our oldest DD13 will be on her 8th trip this time! We are former DVC members- discovered that Disney always offers discounts and our trips have always equalled what we would "pay" in dues each year added up over the amount of time it has been since we've gone. We like to go other places now, most especially the Virgin Islands. This FP+ stuff may cause our WDW vacations to space out more though...waiting to see what the fallout is. That and I would love to see more of the real world.

Well, there's your first mistake! I always approach the bus stop with my eyes closed so I don't witness this travesty of Disney transportation.

Yeah sure, ya trip over a ton of bushes and run in to a lot of trees, but after I get to the bus stop, a little wet from falling into the pond, I know in my heart that I didn't miss a single bus!

Now keep in mind that there is nobody actually at the bus stop when I arrive because they just got on the bus that pulled away 10 seconds ago. My family thinks this is just great because we get all the really nice bus stop seats to ourselves. This gives me time to remove all the algae from the pond soaking and I even get to drip dry while waiting in the privacy of my own empty bus stop.

The down side to this method is that your family is always yelling at you to open your eyes, get out of the bush and get moving because the bus is here! I never listen because as soon as the bus driver sees me start to run, he or she gleefully hits the gas and exits the stop at top speed, sending those unsecured scooters and power chairs sliding all over the bus. Chances are, if you spot a guest limping in a Disney Park, it's because I was running toward a bus with my eyes closed and the bus driver became alarmed and took off a little too early.

The next time you are at a Disney resort bus stop, and you see a large bush that has a human shaped hole in it think to yourself that Ninja Mom was here. Then just close your eyes and head in the approximate direction of the roaring bus engine!

Lol ! You always keep us laughing

Good catch! Yes, the gentleman in front of me had a HUGE tattoo of the WTC, among others....

It's a Piña Coolava....a raspberry infused piña colada. It's available at most pool bars and the reason I know this is because I've had them at Kidani and BLT. It's my preferred poolside drink. No offense Sunken Treasure...you are tasty too!

We alternate between a Disney vacation one year and a non-Disney (typically city-based) vacation the next year. I purposely do this so DH doesn't get "Disney-ed out," which is a real possibility with him. We also alternate between Disneyland and Disneyworld on our Disney trips, so we end up with Disneyworld trips about 4 years apart. If we lived within a day's drive of Disneyworld (we are in Colorado,) I have no doubt I would be there a couple of times a year, not sure about my family though ;). We are visiting Disneyworld this October, and my kids are currently 12 and 9, so I figure we still have at least one more Disney trip on each coast before they graduate from high school :goodvibes

What a busy, fun day! Can't wait to hear about your dinner!

Oh my gosh! I just arrived home from the Undiscovered FutureWorld Tour. I LOVED IT! It's a must do for any WDW fan. There were so many tidbits of info I learned! We saw the VIP lounges in the Seas and Mission:Space pavilions, saw the costuming department and where they fix the costumes and even saw Ariel and Cindy doing their makeup! We rode Soarin' with no wait and learned some rumors about the future of the ride. If either rumor comes true, it would be awesome! The tour was long....4.5 hours with a 15 minute break at Sunshine Seasons. But I would definitely recommend it!

Added to my to-do list for a future trip. Also, your drink looks yummy!

For me there's nothing like being on the lagoon at EPCOT for Illuminations. A few of my favorite places.....The bridge between Great Britain and France, Japan, between Mexico and China and Canada. More good places than bad. Just watch out for trees in the lagoon that can block your view.

Another BIG tip. Check the wind direction. We got smoked on the bridge once and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The great thing about watching and staying so close you can just sit back and enjoy. Watch it end and watch everyone else in the mad dash to leave. No bus, monorail, boat trip to worry about/cram into.

Many times when my family is too pooped to go I just walk over and enjoy and walk back!

My favorite spot is on the steps of Canada.

We got smoked once too! Have to try Canada this year :)

Shakes head :sad2: That Nannette is a BAD INFLUENCE on you! Just be aware she tried to rope me in to a tour entitled "The Ladies rooms of Walt Disney World!!" but I wasn't buying! I'm not taking that "Hidden Dumpsters of Hollywood Studios" either Buzzy! :crazy2:

To save money for all these trips I only feed my children 3 times a week. I figure that they can grow on their own time after they age out at 18 and have to get a real job. Come to think of it... maybe we SHOULD take that "Hidden Dumpsters of Hollywood Studios" tour so we can put a little more meat on their bones.

But seriously we bought annual passes and the Tables in Wonderland Card to save 20% on those special nights when we dine out at a Table service. We also hit Walmart for our in room breakfasts and snacks and water, not to mention Beer and soda. When it's hot out we don't feel like putting away the chow like we do when it's cold. This saves us a ton of time and money because we aren't tied to the dining reservation schedule and we can eat when we want and be more spontaneous with our time.

We fly Southwest or "El Cheapo" air whenever we can and we only book when we can get a room only discount.

Some of my trips don't involve dragging the family down (GIRLS TRIPS :cool1: :woohoo: ) and 1 trip is being paid for by Grandpa. We get him really drunk and then we get a hold of the credit card in his wallet. See that previous post of mine about getting people drunk and then how it's much easier to get them to agree with you.....

Yes the trips add up but we do save money in other ways and then put it toward paying for our Disney trips in advance. I do this by booking airfare early when it's low and paying that off right away. I then make the room only reservation and put the deposit down and pay it off monthly. When I see a sale or discount on the room I rebook it at the lower rate. Having the annual pass room only discounts that appear about two months away from the trip and booking bounce back offers especially helps to ensure I'm not paying full price for a room when ever possible.

So we save money on:

*the flights by booking early when they are cheaper.
*The room by booking during a discount period.
*the park tickets by purchasing annual passes that can also be paid down via a payment plan.
*and the food by not purchasing the dining plan and just purchasing the food we will actually eat, either in our room or at the parks.

Don't get me wrong, it's still expensive to fly down to WDW. We just have decided that while the boys are still living at home this is how we want to prioritize our vacation time. As soon as they age out and move on we'll be back to our luxurious lifestyle of 5 o'clock buffets with a fist full of coupons and buying all of our clothes at WalMart. As for now I have to darn my grannie panties when they get the holes in 'em and put the pennies I save in the Disney jar. Life is good!

Quick question -

I saw on another thread that someone checked in at the Villas for their BCV stay. I've never seen this as check-in has always been at the BC. Anyone else have to check-in at the Villas for their DVC stay? Is it something they are trying out in the summer?

There used to be a tram that ran from the International Gateway to the Swan and Dolphin. Did it stop at YC/BC?

Well, the rain curtailed our plans to go to DHS tonight so we are sticking around BC and having dinner at Cape May again. My husband and daughter loved the crab legs when we were here on Saturday.

Our oldest daughter stayed back in the room tonight...she's feeling a little sick...so maybe it's a good thing we are sticking nearby.
