So, the good news is that there is 15 days until we arrive. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
The bad news is, like the absolute idiot that I am, I broke my toe yesterday. :sad2::sad2::sad2:
Not the big toe and not the pinkie toe, the third toe, the lowly, undramatic third toe, which, regardless of it's relative unimportance, is required for me to walk normally. AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I'm a little bummed.
Does anyone have any uplifting, "I broke my toe and danced in the Nutcracker three days later" stories? I have a feeling that you will be able to find me easily on this particular vacation as the fat, old broad swilling Sunken Treasures at SAB all day while her handsome husband, and three remarkably intelligent and beautiful teenage girls tour the "worlds" without her.
Oh pity me fellow dis-ers as I am unconsolable...:sad1:

I'm so sorry this has happened!!! I would say if the Advil and Sunken Treasures don't relieve the pain, my behind would be in a wheelchair being pushed by her awesome DH and Kids!!!! Don't miss out on the fun in the parks, you'll be disappointed if u do ;).

Just make sure they don't push you too fast.....wouldn't want you to spill the Gray Goose slushie :)

He requires 5 cans a day of a particular liquid diet since he has a tube in his stomach. We will need close to 2 cases of that to be delivered to the resort when we arrive. Will we need to pick it up somewhere special and is there a charge for a delivery like that? The box will be heavy (think 2 cases of infant formula  ).

"Delivered" or "shipped"?

Assuming you are staying at YC/BC/BCV (maybe you said in an earlier post and I didn't go back far enough) - if something is shipped to you via UPS or FedEx, it will be taken to the Yacht & Beach Club convention center. An outside vendor runs the office there, and charges a handling fee. I have walked over to get a lightweight package. When I stayed at BoardWalk Villas, I stopped at Bell Services and took one of their guys with me, with his cart, to their convention center to get two heavy packages. I believe that after you are in your room, you can have the package delivered to your room from the convention center, but I've never tried it. When we shipped via FedEx in March 2012, the handling fee schedule charged by the convention center people was based on the weight of the package:
Up to 5 pounds: $3
5-20 pounds: $5
above 20 pounds: $10

My understanding is that if a package is shipped to you via USPS, it first goes to a central mail receiving place at WDW, then goes to your hotel. It does not go to the convention center, so no handling fee. But there is a time lag so you need to leave extra time (compared to UPS or Fed Ex).

If something is delivered to you (by a local company such as Garden Grocer or We Go Shop or the wonderful people at Owner's Locker, for example) it goes through Bell Services at the hotel and there is no fee charged on the Disney end. Garden Grocer delivered before we arrived at the hotel. It was left at Bell Services. We had Bell Services bring it up to our room. We tipped the Bell Services person who brought it up.

So the question for you is -- which of these three methods is closest to what you would use?

On the Magicla Express! Second flight delay was shortened when plane repair was done quickly (no new part required).

We received two free, round trip tickets each and a meal voucher for the inconvience. Thank you, AirTran, for trying to make it up to us!

That is awesome............ a few hours of your time for 2 round trip tickets for a few more Disney vacations. I would take that deal !
In those few hours of stuff you missed at WDW, you can have 2 more trips to catch up. Great stuff right there ! :thumbsup2

Congrats.........

Awesome DIS OH. Watch out for Dee when you get there.

Speaking off Dee, I hope she has had a great time at "the other park", and I'm sure she is ready to check into BC!!!

Hey All :goodvibes

I looked back a few pages and didn't find anything....but is there any truth to the rumors of YC/BC refurbs starting in Oct?

Teena said something about the refurbishment scheduled for the fall. :)

I think you have to go back lots and lots of pages to find it. ;)

Oh, we are not rich. I am a teacher and definitely not rich :rolleyes2 DH is also not in a career field to make him rich. We just don't spend much money outside of travel. We keep our expenses on a daily basis low so we can go. We look for deals and fly on SW points:thumbsup2

Hi Couchy! I hope that you didn't take what I said wrong, I never meant to apply you were rich, just that I'm poor (lol :rotfl2:), but when I read it back I thought oh no I hope I didn't offend in error! :confused3 I'm just jealous of you is all :cool1:! I'm working to be like you though & have all expenses like credit cards paid off in next 2 months (I've been working a lot extra) & then start saving for DVC!!

I found Johnny Depp!!!!! You'll never guess where he was. In MK on a ride called PoC. He had long hair and was wearing makeup. :confused

He didn't seem to hear me when I told him to come on back with me to BC! :wink

Come to think of it, he looked kind of plastic-y. :)
Lol :rotfl:

Less than a month to go now and I'm starting to get excited:). Since we first booked this holiday our lives have been turn upside down, my mum was diagnosed with and passed away from cancer, all within a month. Since then I have spent most of my time dealing with her estate and so the holiday planning has taken a back seat.

:)

So sorry for your loss franc. Sending you:grouphug:. You sound like a great daughter to take care of all her final wishes with her estate. :littleangel:

I lost my 58yr old dad in a tragic car accident last year, and it is truly hard, my world is different now. I'm glad to hear you will have some great family time at Disney as it truly has magical powers for healing!

Some things at hotels at complementary and some aren't. He was not complementary and was supposed to be left for the next guest. :)

I love this!!

No lunch, but they did offer a free round trip ticket for future flight! I see an unexpected Christmas trip in my future! :cool1:

Now our plane has a secondary mechanical issue and we have TWO free round trip tickets each!

But I am starting to worry that we will be canceled. Should I be calling the YC front desk if we can't get out today?
:cheer2: for 2 free plane trips! I hope you arrive soon to some pixie dustpixiedust:

I'm sending you pity thoughts right now ! I hope by the time you leave for the trip it will be much more manageable. Just have extra sunken treasures.....

It would be shipped from an outside vendor. If we have to pay a fee, it is fine. But there is no way I can carry it from the Convention Center over to the Beach Club (yes, we are staying there, thanks).

Hopefully that additional information helps! Thanks for your reply. It helps a lot. :goodvibes

I have broken my toes so many times I stopped counting. One time a kid on junior high was running down the hall and stomped on my foot, I broke 3 that particular time. All the others ..... Are " where did Pam go :confused3" oh there she is on my backsides,:lmao: good thing I have plenty of padding

The first 2 days are the worst by day 3 you will be walking with hardly any pain. 4 day totally forgotten! pixiedust:poof be gone broken toes!

Good luck , feel better soon

:)

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother and her sudden passing ((hugs))

Arrived at MCO at 6:30. On ME at 6:45. Stopped at CBR and BWI prior to YC.

Checked in and in room 3059 by 7:45. King bed, day bed, full balcony facing marina and lake, directly across from Boardwalk. Room is steps from secondary elevator which lands on first floor very near Secret Entrance.

Perfect location! Also steps from ice machine, which we will need as the fridge has been yanked out.

Walked to Epcot, went to Mexico for margarita. Stopped at Germany caramel shop for rice krispie and cookie for breakfast.

Watched Illuminations from point on water between bridge and International Gateway.

Back in room by 9:30, after stopping at Marketplace for snacks and drinks.

Off to find my luggage now...figures it didn't make my much delayed flight!

Keys to the Kingdom tour in the AM.

Glad to hear you made it after all your adventures today. Hopefully the luggage finds its way to you soon. Have a great night!

Good evening everyone!:wave2:

I am not sure if any of you follow any of the FD or RO threads. In case you don't, today an annoucement came out with FD dates for the late fall promotion. :cool1: Hopefully the RO dates will be similiar. It looks like if you are a DV holder, you can call for the FD DSCT on July 29th and a GP offer will be available on Aug 1st.

We are staying at BC CL in Oct and I am wondering if anyone has ever been able to take advantage of (or modify) a reservation to include the FD or a RO dcsts? Didn't know if CL rooms were included? I also know they allot only a certain amount of rooms for dscts too.

I am thinking the RO would be a much better way to go since we also have the CL for snacks/drinks etc.

Would love thoughts and opinions! Thanks!:thumbsup2

Omg caught up!!!!

We will be there a month from tomorrow. Can hardly believe it. Told our traveling buddies that we may not have a fridge but the other dad was so happy to hear you could ask for beer when it wasn't out that he didn't care. LOL

Glad you made it down DIS-OH. Sounds like quite an ending to a memorable day.

Now........Have Fun!
