Those are wonderful! I print a label with a Disney character on it and "Thanks, Mousekeeping!" and call it done. I am betting (because I do this when a student gives me something this special) that your DD's envelopes will be saved and talked about at the CMs home. How nice!

So, in about 12 hours, the car will be packed and we will be hitting the road to Orlando. (a banana for each person). Just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you in this BC/YC community for your helpfulness and humor. The broken toe, though still purple and black and green and a little blue, is healing quite nicely and I managed to walk from 57th down to 30th and walk the high line to the end at 14th st? and back up to 57th yesterday so I think I'm ready for whatever Disney can throw at me. We're checking into Comfort Suites tomorrow afternoon and then the following morning we'll be checking into YC.
Thanks again for drawing me out of lurkerdom and selling me on YC/BC SAB, can't wait to get this party started.

Does anyone have an update on the fridge status at the YC? Checking in Aug16 and would really love to have one between the 2 rooms we have. I don't however want to take one away from someone with medical issues.

I checked in to Beach Club yesterday, water/lagoon view, 2nd floor and I have a brand new refrigerator. Bellman noted to me that they were swapping out and that mine was new. He said most if not all were already switched out at the resort. Not sure if thats true, but it is what he said.

When I talked to the person in charge last Monday when I worked, she said a large load was coming in during this week but not all of them. She also said the fifth floor was 98% done as far as refrigerators. Therefore, I'm pretty sure they are not ALL done in the resort.

There have been conflicting reports (see above), but I think chances are good that you could have at least one room with a fridge in a couple more weeks.

We continue to rely on reports from guests who are there sharing their experiences. And we have some other pretty reliable sources, too.

I prefer not to drive and use a comb of ME, Disney trans, and cabs. Wife wants the security of having a car on hand

Remember that at Dolphin there is Alamo and National so you could rent from there if/when needed.

17 Days!!!

Itching to start packing, but going in summertime means that we are wearing the clothes we'll wear on vacation...and that means I have to be patient

Not if you make them go nekked for a couple of days before you leave! That's what I do with my family. OR I pull out the old clothes that don't fit the boys anymore. For about a week before our trip they are wearing pajama bottoms that look like Capri pants because they've grown out the bottoms of them. Their t-shirts are so short they show off their midriffs and their old tighty whiteys are making their voices go up an octave or two.

If you've donated their old clothes remember the trees are in full bloom so have the kids craft outfits out of nature's flowers and fauna. It's eco friendly, it keeps the kids busy and it's cheap, especially if you use the proper leaves. Take it from Ninja Mom, using the right leaves is important because it helps to avoid the expensive trips to the urgent care center for those "unexplained" rashes...

Tell the wife Ninja Mom urges you to lose the car and use your method. If she still is skeptical show her that tip I posted above and she will instantly see that I am a credible source of useful information.

Puts the scribbled note saying "Thanks" that I write so quickly I can't even read my own handwriting to major, major shame!

Please let your daughter know how impressed we all are!

Last year on our last day our son ran a high fever. We had to go to CentreCare per the recommendation of the wonderful CM's in CL. Thankfully we had a car to get him there and then get over to Walgreens to pick up his antibiotic (he had strep).

That situation sealed the deal for us on renting a car on all future trips!!

I have 4 rooms booked there for our annual family trip and would not like to be in the middle of construction with 5 grandchildren!! This was the only resort I could get 4 rooms at my cast discount. I am now very nervous about our trip!!!

Well based on when your timeline is I am guessing you are there in November? Apparently it is slated to begin in November....who knows if schedule still stands from what I was told a month ago but I don't blame you for not wanting to be in the middle of construction but you might be.

I may be mistaken but I think the cutoff date is earlier than 8/29. I was never notified. When I went online I saw the link for magic bands and fast pass + on My Disney Experience. I customized my bands and received them last week. I still haven't received an email saying I'm part of the test.
