Dee, sounds amazing!! So happy you are there now enjoying it.

We are staying at the YC during the test so I asked the IPO about fp+ and the magic bands. This is the response I got:

The Magic Bands are still in the testing phases so only certain guest, that are chosen randomly, are using them. Eventually, when everyone are using the bands, they will be just like your Key to The World Card. So your dinning plan, tickets, room charging will be on them. For right now you will still get a key to use Storm a long Bay. They haven't figured that part out yet, I guess. You still won't be able to use the Fast Pass +, yet.
There still is no date that all of this will be rolling out for everyone to use. I hope this answered all of your questions.

Why no, it doesn't answer all of my questions! LOL.

This is interesting...... I have not received an email but yesterday I was able to make FP+ selections and order our MagicBands. Since I didn't get an email, I wonder if the Fastpasses I picked are legitimate, or more likely, not. My DW is going to be bummed out if they're not, because I was able to get a FP for TSMM.

You would think that, if you're not part of the test group, the system would not allow you to do everything. Oh wait - that would mean the Disney IT department would have to figure out how to disable that for your account. :lmao:

Hey Dee thanks for checking in with us. You had a very busy day indeed. Your room location sounds wonderful! Happy to see you are finally 'home'. Have you seen my buddy Pete yet? He works front desk area at the BC.

That's nice you met up with Nannette too. Enjoy your day!

Hey Kerry ... Pete bid over at the YC and you can usually find him there in the afternoons and evenings at the front desk.

YES ! I did this yesterday. I couldnt do it on the website, but I did it on the MDE App on my iPhone.
Kind of a cool process too. On the app there is a tab to "link" you park tickets to MDE. You actually scan the barcode on the ticket using the camera on the iPhone! After its done scanning each ticket ........you link that ticket to a member of you family (or friend). It was pretty easy once I figured it out. Now our tickets are linked to the MDE app, and website along with our resort and restaurant reservations.

Its pretty easy, if you need help, let me know !

Syndrome

You are a star!!! :worship:
Scanned and linked! I'm always amazed when any of this works but so far so good.
Thanks Syndrome. :yay:

hi everyone!!:wave:sorry if this has already been asked, but I read somewhere that the resort was undergoing a rehab starting in october. does anyone know if thats true and what exactly is being done?? we are checking in on oct 12 for our first stay at bc and a fresh room would be awsome!! thanks!:yay:

It's a major rehab for all the rooms and hallways. Unfortunately you'd have to change your reservation to next October to guarantee you getting one of the new rooms. It was originally scheduled to start in October/November but the latest I heard was it won't now start until January. And when it starts, they start on the fifth floor (club level) and work down.

I hope that means that the refurbishment would be finished when we check in on April 30th. That works for me. :goodvibes

No, it will take almost a full year so it definitely will not be done on April 30th.

Guests are not impacted. They do a section at a time. All "noise work" is done during the day when guests are at the pool or at the parks. Doubt you will even know it is going on.

So I asked the question about the email to guest relations (due to our split stay) and received this reply:
Dear Heather,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We look forward to your stay at Disney! We apologize for the confusion
with the FastPass plus option that currently appears on our site. This
is intended for a special test group that would have received a
invitation e-mail. If have not received an e-mail, you would not be part
of this test group as it is quite limited. We appreciate your
understanding and apologize for any confusion.

We hope to offer these new and exciting options to all of our guests in
the near future!

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Bummer...but it was neat to see it in action and looks promising...once they work out the ahem...kinks..:badpc:

Were you able to schedule things and customize the bands? I checked this morning on MDE and was able to schedule everything I wanted and customize my bands, it told me I had 6 days left to customize the bands. I never got an email though, so I probably did all that for nothing??? :( Oh well. Guess we'll see what happens. There was nothing on MDE yesterday for me about Magic Bands or FP+. Weird. :confused3

Oh man!! We just booked Beach Club garden view for the first week and half of October 2014. I'm not worried about being there during the refurb, but now I'll be jealous if I don't get one of the finished rooms! :rotfl2:

It's always something. ;)

Staying CL is fabulous! A typical breakfast includes oatmeal with all the fixings, hard boiled eggs, Danish, muffins, bagels, croissants, toast, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, milk and yogurt. Once you stay CL, you will never want to go to WDW without it. I believe it opens at 7am.

I am so excited about CL for those breakfast items. My family just doesn's care anything about a hot breakfast?!

I am wondering the same thing. I was able to schedule everything and customize my Magicbands yesterday. It took a good part of the morning to do it all because the site runs SO Slow!! I sure hope it wasn't all for nothing. I guess we'll see... It made me veryify my mailing address and said the bands would be mailed to us. As of yesterday (the first day it was on there) I had 3 days to do it all. So I guess that means they would be shipped after that. :confused3 I looked today and it says 2 days and all my selections are still there.

:wizard:

it was surreal!!! As I said to mark, I am "here" everyday but today I am really here. No tears of joy- I am not crier- but big stupid grin!

 to you! How did I know you aren't a crier? Enjoy that coffee, enjoy your day! I'll take care of the tears of joy for both of us - I have that one down! :)

Speaking of tears of joy, take a look at the addition to my signature!!! Mickey T, please start sending the tips!!!

And now I have to go back and read all this stuff about magicbands . . .

I have a question about the magic bands. it says I have to confirm my shipping address. i booked through a travel agent, so their address is the shipping address. Should I leave it or change it to my home address?

I changed it to my address and mentioned it to my TA and they said for sure to change it.

Hi guys - we're back!
Just peeking out from the mountain of laundry!

Lots to report. One of the highlights was the Wishes Dessert Party on July 3rd. Great preview 4th of July fireworks and great company. Teena and Lauren were able to join us an we had a fantastic time.

Here's something you never would have guessed. Originally we had a split stay booked, first hald GF, second half BC. DH complained that he didn't want to have to switch since we were flying instead of driving. So we booked the whole trip (16 nights) BC CL. We had to do two separate reservations since Disney wouldn't let us book more than 14 nights one one reservation.

Anyway, we went over to Narcoosee's for dinner and saws the new pool and walked around the grounds and the kids started getting nostalgic. When they were young we always stayed at the GF or Poly to be on the monorail.
Anyway we decided to see if we could still do the split stay. We ended up staying the first 9 nights BC CL and then switched to a tpv room at the GF for the last seven nights. Had a fabulous castle view room!

Our weather wasn't great in the beginning of our trip. Lots of rain and cool temps. Of course it was crazy that back home (NJ) they had record high temps! Starting getting better 5th days. Last two days lots of rain again.
We made the best of it and got good use out of our ponchos.

I saw Dee reported that SAB was open until 11:00. Same when we were there.

Had lunch at Beaches and Cream and dinner at Cape May and Captain's Grille. B&C and CMB were great as usual. Capt's Grille was just ok. We originally were scheduled to go to Coral Reef that night but a downpour kept us in. We were lucky to be able to get in anywhere!

CL breakfast offerings were the same as usual - just the right thing to get you off to the parks early in the morning.l Same wonderful chips and dip and yogurt covered pretzels. I was surprised that the evening appetizers were labeled anymore. Seemed like a lot more repeats than usual and evening desserts really seemed cut down. On our first night though had a wonderful surprise when they had oreo bon bons for the CL dessert. DD was ecstatic!
CL staff was always helpful and friendly.

The only glitch of our trip was mousekeeping. The room was definitely nice and clean when we checked in - no issues at all. We always request early service since we usually hit the parks at rope drop. Out of the nine nights we had four days where we came back at 3:00 to unmade rooms. Also had problems with mousekeeping not leaving hardly any towels, forgetting coffee etc. We did call housekeeping and report these things but didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I never like to dwell on things that might bring us down on vacation.

We went to BOG once for dinner and once for lunch. We all liked the dinner much better than the lunch. We were seated in the West Wing for dinner and ballroom for lunch. Great atmosphere!

Dee - hope you are having a fabulous time!

Any questions?
