I read this on the August 2013 thread:

There is another test of MagicBands and FP+ beginning Aug 2nd - 25th, only at POP, CR, AKL and YC.

If you are doing a split stay at one of these resorts during the time frame, then the FP+ option would be available for those days. So, YC gets to test, BC doesn't. I don't know whether to feel relieved or sad that we are staying BC.

Well...my FP + is available for all the days I want it (?) *that is within 14 days of first ticket use, I bet. Meaning my spit stay half at another resort too, but I think that's what you meant.

This is very confusing! I just logged on to the app and it says I can choose my bands too. We're staying YC 20-29th August.
Couple of questions, I thought you could only customise your band if you checked in online but I haven't. The other people who have the option of magic bands have you completed online check in?
I know from previous threads you can't use paper fast passes and magic band ones but if you don't use Fastpass+ can you use paper ones instead?

Edited: I've done some more reading, and the whole thing about getting an email about being a tester seems very legit. Rats. It made for an exciting morning though.

Well that really stinks that we won't be able to use regular FP's... I wonder if it's just for the times that we have a FP+, or if we can't get regular FP's at all?

The FAQs on Disney's site say that you can't have regular FPs at all. It's one of the few things they're being very clear about!

It's strange I can't get on DME site but I can log in on the app! I want a magic band but I'd rather use normal FP and not FP+ not sure if you can have a band and do that though :/
Wouldn't have a clue which rides I want to do when in advance, haven't been to Disney for 8years so wouldn't know where to start!
Showed DBF a picture of the band and he got excited, he's never been to Disney and this is the first thing he's shown any interest in! Ste it'll be different when we're there though

We're going to enjoy our first club level trip ever, staying at BC 8/8-8/13 celebrating our 18th anniversary. This and the club level thread help a ton in knowing what to expect and what not to miss out on. We may be Disney vets, but some of this stuff, like club level, will be super new to us.

You will love CL!!! It sure makes breakfast a breeze . Wish we were staying CL for this trip . Maybe next year!

Thanks, I hadn't seen that.

That is interesting. Not sure how I feel about that. So basically if we have the Magicband we can only get 3 FP's per day. But if we do not have the Magicband we can get as many FP's as we want during any given day...

So I asked the question about the email to guest relations (due to our split stay) and received this reply:

Bummer...but it was neat to see it in action and looks promising...once they work out the ahem...kinks..

While my family is swimming I'm doing laundry. Only one washing machine is working and I have two loads to do. I'm sitting poolside at the quiet pool enjoying a Sam Adams courtesy of the CL lounge. I wish Tom Collins was here mixing drinks, but I'm happy I have Sam by my side. We spent the day at DHS and had a magnificent lunch at Sci-Fi. My daughter and I shared a burger and it was still too much food. Somehow I found room for dessert....their turtle cheesecake. It was divine! We were planning on going to Epcot for EMH tonight but my family doesn't want to go.

Better go check on my clothes!

Does anyone know of a way to tie UT tickets to MDE? I see where you're supposed to enter a 12 digit code from the back of the ticket but UT tickets have a much longer code. Any one have any experience with this?

YES ! I did this yesterday. I couldnt do it on the website, but I did it on the MDE App on my iPhone.
Kind of a cool process too. On the app there is a tab to "link" you park tickets to MDE. You actually scan the barcode on the ticket using the camera on the iPhone! After its done scanning each ticket ........you link that ticket to a member of you family (or friend). It was pretty easy once I figured it out. Now our tickets are linked to the MDE app, and website along with our resort and restaurant reservations.

Hi all-


Here's my quick update from the past few days....went to SAB every morning-got burned yesterday. My daughter found if you take a handful of sand and rub it on your hands, it makes for very smooth hands!

Went to MK Sunday afternoon...had BOG for dinner (awesome!) and Wishes Dessert Party (even more awesome!). Saw a couple get engaged there just as fireworks began,,,,,truly magical! Stayed at MK until 1am for EMH. Took a while for busses to arrive for the mass exodus at park closing.

The rest of our family has arrived. There are 19 of us here now. Nephew got his first haircut at MK! SIL and fiancée were BC family of the day yesterday...they were magically upgraded from a lagoon view room to a CL lagoon view room! It's an oversized king room with a magnificent view of SAB! All of us staying at BC are now CL. Speaking of CL....I highly recommend it! The CM's are fantastic and magical. We are truly spoiled.

Yesterday, DH and two kids went to Epcot with the family while our 10 year old and I went to SAB then her and I headed to Epcot in the afternoon. The rain put a damper on our quest to ride Test Track but we did ride Sum of all Thrills. It's a lot of fun! I was able to utilize the Ninja Mom Slushie Swaperoo....I ordered a Gray Goose Slushie and asked if she could pour it in my refillable mug. She didn't even blink an eye! It's was a good plan because as soon as she poured it, the skies opened up with a massive downpour. Not only did my mug keep my slushie cold, it also kept it out of the rain!

Our family enjoyed our dinner at Biergarten. We'd never been there before and we'll definitely be back!

We then went to DHS for EMH. Rode RnR and TSM before leaving.

To the people requesting pictures of items from the Marketplace, I haven't forgotten about you! I promise I'll post pics eventually.

We are headed to DHS for lunch with everyone at Sci-Fi then we'll head to Epcot for EMH tonight.

This wasn't so quick of an update....sorry!

Staying CL is fabulous! A typical breakfast includes oatmeal with all the fixings, hard boiled eggs, Danish, muffins, bagels, croissants, toast, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, milk and yogurt. Once you stay CL, you will never want to go to WDW without it. I believe it opens at 7am.
