You met Jess! So awesome

I felt like I was meeting a celebrity :). Hadn't felt like that since my first meeting of Teena!!!

DD16 had dinner with her and her boyfriend at La Hacienda ( they know each other from Instagram and Twitter and I knew her from her Dis Trip report ....neither of us knew we followed the same person until DD mentioned her name Jess!!)

Hello-

Excited for our 1st time! Staying March 3-7th 2014 with DD13, brother and Niece 11. My brother's first time at a deluxe. He didn't like the price tag so I am hoping he loves the resort. I booked GV and requested a daybed and either a balcony or patio. I will not be looking at a parking lot with this category will I? 7 months from today!

Well, much like KerryCM I also had a fairly great DR visit today also! :)

It appears that my new RA med is working (YAYAYAYAY:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:)!!!! Finally, after 8 previous tries, looks like we got it right!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Just awaiting the labs to see, but fingers crossed that this one doesn't stop working for a *VERY* long time.

I also got permission to taper my steroid, after WDW in...what's that??? TWO WEEKS...YESSSS!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So happy...was very worried when we booked this trip in April that I would be in a scooter...but nope not this time!!!!:yay:

Sorry about those kiddos HubbDave and Karebear...

So happy for you!!:cool1::cool1: Nothing like good news from the doctor to make you feel better. Have a magically awesome trip!

Can anyone tell me which room we were in? It was in the very corner of the building closest to Epcot. Our room had a window looking out at the lagoon and our balcony was down the side and faced Epcot. It wasn't the ground floor but the next one up. When we left the room there was a door to the right and that took you to a stairwell. If you walked to the bottom and out the door you walked down a path and you were on your way to Epcot!

Very awesome
At the New England Dis Meet for GKTW I unknowingly sat with Pete and Dustin at the welcome dinner

That was awkward (but they were very gracious)

That sounds like Room 2501 maybe?

So happy for you!! I know what this is like & it almost sounds better than any discount Disney can offer!
I'm hoping for the same thing!! I have RSD/CRPS II & I'm getting a pain pump adj tomorrow, it's one of the last ones I'll get b4 we leave & depending on this will mean that I'll have to be in a scooter or not...
Praying that you feel absolutely GREAT on ur trip!! Hoping ur new meds will work!!

I am admittedly in the dark about most things BCV and DVC.

Someone just asked me if the BC secret entrance is useful for guests staying in a villa.

Yes, No or does it matter where in the villas you are?

Any other input is appreciated!

Thanks!

No, it does not matter where in the villas you are, it is much easier for BCV'S guests to take the sidewalk that is located between the villas and the wooded area next to Epcot. The BCV's have their own little secret exits to the walkway which would make it shorter than going through the BC. If I had a room layout of the villas I could point them out.

Your directions are good. :)

Eta: The only time that a BCV guest might want to walk through the BC is if it was pouring rain or they wanted to stop in the Marketplace or something like that, because it would take more time to walk through the BC than it would to use the sidewalk.

This sounds great to me. Just imagine the looks from those poor unfortunate souls that don't know about these boards. Bzzzzz

:lmao::lmao: Maybe we should always have a sunken treasure in hand and then that will just think we have had too many!!:thumbsup2

On Monday night, dd (8) decided to try some gymnastics in the form of vaulting from the sofa to the floor and ended up breaking her left arm :worried: They needed to do surgery to put pins in. They told me that they can take the pins out in about 3 weeks and then give her a waterproof cast at that point--fingers crossed! I am so hoping for that because then she can enjoy SAB, etc. Any tips on touring WDW in a cast? Thanks in advance!

Oh no...speedy recovery wishes...:)

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts. Feeling better about things today, Parkinson's has been ruled out and I have been given new medication. The tremors I have are not affecting my quality of life enough to warrant any surgery, yet. We will keep an eye on things and re-evaluate things in 2 months.

Jim and I are going on a trip the end of September to relax at my happy place. I need to avoid stress as much as possible as that tends to make the tremors much worse. Good thing Jim shares my love of Disney!!

Anyway, we will be at the Wilderness Lodge in just 58 more days and I just got an email saying my dessert party is booked!!

Okay, my husband thinks I'm crazy, but I know all of you would understand. We just got back from Disney World last Wednesday. School starts for my daughter on Aug. 21st. We have premier passes because we upgraded our Disneyland premium passes when we were in Florida. I want some use out of them before they expire on Dec. 28. It is hard to plan during the school year, even for a weekend trip, soooooo....I thought it would be fun to slip in a mini-trip to Disneyland from Aug. 13-16th. We would drive (6 hours) and stay in a cheap motel to keep costs down. Is that crazy or just normal for someone who hangs on the Disboards?

We did not do online check in, but the magic bands appeared on the my disney experience app. I have customised our bands and selected our FP+ rides and times etc but haven't had the magic email to say we're part of the test yet, but did receive this email to say the bands have been shipped to YC ( Presumably because we're from UK - Others have had the, sent to their address). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response! I guess online checkin is not necessary!! I can't read the pic due to the blurriness but I haven't even figured out how to upload a pic on here so I give you credit!!

Not crazy at all:thumbsup2 We just went in the beginning of July and after some good luck, we are set to arrive on Sunday another few days
SW provided us flights for free using points so we are pumped.

If the waitress would bring a drink, it would be a Much Better bus ride :)

If it were me, I would not get on this bus, either coming or going, without a little something in my refillable mug! That's why it's a good idea to throw one of these in your back pack or string bag.... you never know when an Sunken Treasure emergency is going to come up!

Now picture this... you are on the bus, which is circling every Disney property... But YOU don't have a care in the world, because buried in your refillable mug is a ice cold Sunken Treasure.... Ahhhh.....

Sooooo not crazy! If only I could drive 6 hours and be at Disney! I live in Canada. I drive 9 hours, and then fly 4 hours :(
Hope it works out or you! Enjoy :)

If this were a poll, everyone here would answer not crazy. But, when you ask all the patients in an asylum if they are crazy, they'd also all say no.

I'm about 3 hrs away from WDW. We have annual passes and are trying to do at least one trip a month. So far we have not missed it. But, like you, school is starting soon and kids are moving to upper schools, so even harder to plan. We are all still going to try! When you mix someone that loves Disney and a cheap bastar... you'll want to get every penny's worth of those tickets!

Besides, enjoy life! you should go! I know I would be for sure!

Hello! I just had a wonderful trip to YC. We had booked SV CL(only thing left, I was told at booking) found out at check-in we were placed in a pool/lagoon view room (5149.) We arrived at around 11:30 from Universal Studios. We were taken right up to CL and checked-in. Our room was even ready! It was our first time staying CL and it was fabulous. We ate breakfast every morning from the offerings in the lounge. The tables were always busy, so we brought our stuff back to the room. This was a relaxing trip (we were just at the BC in April) for us and we spent a lot of time at the pool and so we were able to take advantage of the club offerings throughout the day, which was nice. The staff was very courteous, always asking what they could do for us. We did have a fridge in the room and saw boxes of fridges in the hallway on our first day, as they were already replacing them.

It was good that this was a relaxing trip for us, because Disney was very busy with long wait lines (and I'm a christmas/easter time girl!), but I wasn't expecting it to be that busy. We went last summer in August right before DD's school started and I think that had helped with the crowds.

Overall, we had a great trip! :lovestruc Loved getting my Disney fix in. It was DD's first time to Universal and she agreed it just could not compare to Disney's magic.

Don't quote me on this but I've heard that Buzzy the fly does a little dentistry on the side. His prices are really cheap and if his work doesn't hold up DD can always get some of those new fangled implants from some other dentist.

Also, That kid's discount store called "5 Below" sells those fake, red neck, 'buck' teeth that she can wear. They can be kind of uncomfortable so she might only want to wear them for pictures.

Just sayin....

NM you crack me up.
