Hey all..
Quick question...
Are standard (non CL) water views at YC possibly of the quiet pool? Or is it a safe bet that they'd be of SAB or the Lagoon?

Thanks!

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts. Feeling better about things today, Parkinson's has been ruled out and I have been given new medication. The tremors I have are not affecting my quality of life enough to warrant any surgery, yet. We will keep an eye on things and re-evaluate things in 2 months.

Jim and I are going on a trip the end of September to relax at my happy place. I need to avoid stress as much as possible as that tends to make the tremors much worse. Good thing Jim shares my love of Disney!!

Anyway, we will be at the Wilderness Lodge in just 58 more days and I just got an email saying my dessert party is booked!!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Chasing down neurological issues can be frustrating. Glad to hear you have some quality time coming up in your happy place!

Okay, my husband thinks I'm crazy, but I know all of you would understand. We just got back from Disney World last Wednesday. School starts for my daughter on Aug. 21st. We have premier passes because we upgraded our Disneyland premium passes when we were in Florida. I want some use out of them before they expire on Dec. 28. It is hard to plan during the school year, even for a weekend trip, soooooo....I thought it would be fun to slip in a mini-trip to Disneyland from Aug. 13-16th. We would drive (6 hours) and stay in a cheap motel to keep costs down. Is that crazy or just normal for someone who hangs on the Disboards?

Sounds completely normal to me! I am going to pick up a premier pass myself in DLR for a four day weekend in advance of our 12 day trip to WDW in December. DD won't be 3 until the second trip so we only need one. Trying to figure out if we can BB in the spring to get the most out of the pass... It's not crazy, it's Disney math! :woohoo:

If it were me, I would not get on this bus, either coming or going, without a little something in my refillable mug! That's why it's a good idea to throw one of these in your back pack or string bag.... you never know when an Sunken Treasure emergency is going to come up!

Now picture this... you are on the bus, which is circling every Disney property... But YOU don't have a care in the world, because buried in your refillable mug is a ice cold Sunken Treasure.... Ahhhh.....

Brilliant! :woohoo!

We're in Northern California too, near Sacramento! Hi, neighbor. Thanks for the support. I agree, it's the smart thing to do to get our money's worth. LOL

We are down the road a piece in San Jose! That's it, we are just smart with our money! ;-)

Now if I could just get a nickel for every time I get told I'm wasting my money going to WDW when DLR is the "same thing" and closer... Lmao

I'm from Sunnyvale, so we really were neighbors at one time!

DW and DL are hardly the same, but both are just as incredible as the other. Different things to love about each place.

OH NO! I work in a peds ortho clinic and waterproof casts are lifesavers for summer months. She should be find swimming around in it at SAB with no problem. Those things can take a serious beating and keep going. I've written notes/excuses for people in arm casts for WDW and they were told they didn't even need them. You may want a doctor's note that she has no restrictions to ride whatever she wants while you're there (that's typically why I write notes) just in case someone has any issues with the cast or her healing fracture. Take it to guest services and see if they need it for anything, otherwise just keep a hold of it. It won't ruin your magic!!!

Great information--thanks! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. She is starting to feel better and I hope that she mends soon!

It's amazing how quickly children heal compared to adults. I'll bet she'll be in full swing by the time you arrive at Disney. The other kids might even be envious of the cool waterproof cast!

Well this is exciting news....

For our December trip, we were booked at BWI for a few reasons. Firstly, along with BC, it's our other favorite resort, and secondly, we wanted a standard or garden view, and BC/YC were sold out of those, soooo, we booked ourselves happily at BWI.

And then last night happened.

By that I mean, at midnight, Disney rolled out a room-only discount for the fall, including December, so I jumped online to see if I could get us a break at BWI. As it turns out, there are no rooms on the special at BWI...

Soooooooooo........
(Yes, y'all are smart and can see where this is going)....

WE'RE JUST NOT GOING! I stamped my foot at the screen, exclaimed "Hmmph!" and stormed away.

Just kidding. ;)

The only rooms available for our dates on the entire Epcot loop were Water/Pool view rooms at YC, so Dee, I can't believe I'm saying this, but could you ad us to the BOG list......YC-LV for Dec. 4-8 of this year.... WE'RE DOING CHRISTMAS AT THE YC!
This of course is in addition to our BC CL-GV room for next August...

Holy Mickey! I have TWO tickers and they're BOTH for YC/BC!
Is it time for a party?
I think so.

:banana: :dance3: :cool1::cheer2:

Oh, and those of you who requested pics of our BWI/BC/YC themed bedroom and guest room, I'll try that later today once I've made the bed (while singing "Sing Sweet Nightingale", which I always sing when I'm doing all the work). And NinjaMom, I'm sorry, but I won't be in it wearing something a lil sexy. I have a strict no-nudity clause in my contract....now Henry (the cat) on the other hand....hold on tight.

Ugh....

So I'm on hold, but after looking at the website, I know that there are NO rooms available at BC for either the 30% room discount or free dining. :( We were ok with paying full price, but when I can get a discounted room for a CL room at the Poly.... that's a tough choice.

On the phone, on hold, right now. What to do? What to do???

We love the Poly - stayed in a TPV room last year during F&W and for MNSSHP, and it was awesome. I know the kids really wanted SAB, but my DD7 (sitting with me right now), is actually thrilled about the possibility of being at the Neverland Club again. And being so close to Stitch? Well, jeez..... that kinda seals it for her.

So we'll see. If I can actually get through here at some point, I may have to say a very BIG THANK YOU for all of your help with our decisions at BC, but we may have to switch..... :confused3

Congrats on your Christmas trip! I believe it is a safe bet that you will have a lagoon or SAB view. When I stayed a night at YC with a GV I had a view of the quiet pool

Love this plan:lmao::lmao:

I've been lurking on this board for long enough ... it's time to show my face! I've got the best reason in the world for a first post - I just booked YC Club Level for November 16-23, 2013!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Glad you chose to come out of the darkness and so happy to hear you have booked and awesome trip!!!

I'll add you to the list with my next update

I totally agree!! :)

Honestly, after 1 hour and 37 minutes on hold - YES REALLY - I'm thinking we may be at the BC after all! These hold times are crazy. I'd hang up but it took about 30 minutes of just trying to get through to get to this point. :scared1:

But if we don't get it, I'll still be very happy. Just won't have quite as much spending money. ;)

Time for more Lily goes Live!!!

As most of you know, Teena's daughter Jeanne and her precious daughter Princess Lily will be visiting for a couple weeks.

During their stay, there will be lots of Disney magic! Yesterday was a visit to Animal Kingdom, today is Typhoon Lagoon, tomorrow is lunch with Jake and the Neverland Pirates at HS. Coming up soon is a family stay at the Beach Club to play in Stormalong Bay.

Doesn't everyone wish they had a fairy-grandmother as great as Teena???

Here are a couple of teaser photos, but I hope you will join me as I follow along with all of their adventures on the Princess Lily thread. The August 2013 updates start on Page 15:

Woohooo!!!! Just got off of the phone... after 3 hours.

But it was worth it. We're still at the BC CL Lagoon View with 30% off. So happy!!!! DS9 convinced DD7 to stay at the BC over the Poly. Honestly, I would have been happy with either, but I totally planned the trip around staying at BC, and DH is happy because it's $100 less than if we'd moved over. :thumbsup2

Oh, and get this - have to share this magic: after 2 hours and 12 minutes on hold, I spoke with a wonderful and very helpful agent. We priced out CL at BC and the Poly, and I was about to make my decision when I was disconnected! When I finally got back on the phone with another agent, they informed me that the last agent had already applied the discount for me. SO great. :)

So keep me on the BOG list - we'll see you in 2 months and 22 days!! :cool1:

Dee - thanks for the Lily updates.

Puts a smile on my face just looking at that cutie. How I wish my girls were that little (and that sweet) still!
