Jeanne and Lily are here and Little Princess Lily is watching Cars with all her Disney friends. She seems right at home ... almost like she was here last week instead of back in December. Off to Animal Kingdom tomorrow afternoon for her favorite thing: the parade!

Yeah! Enjoy your time with them Teena!

Checked in this morning to the YC. This was the first time ever checking in CL that it all went the way it's supposed to go. IOW, greeted at the front entrance and escorted up, etc. We were very early (8:00 am) and were offered a room right away with rollaway or we could wait til normal check in for daybed. We chose to wait and started exploring. Thanks to this most helpful group we scored a couple of lockers in the health club, changed into our bathing suits and made "rope drop" for SAB. They actually opened about 10 minutes early. After sliding the slide and tubing the oh so lazy river and reading a few pages of a good mystery, the text came that the room was ready! We're staying in Disney for 11 days with 10 day park hoppers so this was our resort day so it was quite a bonus that the room was ready so early. Our fridge is disconnected, and we are on a list for replacement but it is a minor inconvenience. We drove down so we have a couple of soft sided coolers to keep the important things chilled such as the Pinot and Chardonnay. :)
After receiving our room and getting our luggage with in5 minutes of calling, the DH and I made our way back down to the pool and over to hurricane Hannah's to celebrate the official start of our holiday. Naturally, I had to order a sunken treasure as I was a newbie and it was a rite of passage. Yum as you can see. I asked the bartender, Amy, if she knew how to make one, she said yes and as you can see, voila. I showed her the card that I carry courtesy of you wonderful folks and she showed it to her fellow bartenders. They said that Disney forbids them from putting that many shots into one drink and there was a bit of an argument over to sprite or not to sprite. In the end, none of it mattered, as I drank, and it was good.
So we have a standard view room, just over but a little to the right of main entrance and it's not so bad. Pretty tree, good sized balcony, life does not suck. Kids just had some CL desserts and are headed down to SAB. I'm sipping something nice and planning rope drop. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!:worship::worship::worship::worship::

Awesome!!! Enjoy your trip!!

I've been out of the Disney loop for too long. There are so many new terms I need to understand - magicbands, fastpass+... I'm so pleased we finally have our next fix booked - even if it is over a year away :cloud9:

I'm here several times a day and I still don't understand magic bands, Fast Pass plus and My Disney Experience. Like you said, you have a year to learn and figure it out!

;)

Here's a couple of pictures from one of my early morning strolls:

This display board was near the Solarium, in the hallway outside of the Marketplace. I haven't seen this before. Are these coloring pages kids did in the Sandcastle Club? Or can you request them from the front desk?

Sitting here relaxing on my balcony after our first full day here at YC. Watching a lightning storm develop safely in the distance. Sipping on a beer after our quick HS evening. Being a newbie to the YC now I fully understand why all of you are so devoted to the place. Sunken treasure is on my list of things to do tomorrow!

Sounds amazing... love sitting on the balcony and just taking it all in. Have you been to SAB yet?

Just plussed our Brown Derby ressie to a Fantasmic package

It won't be long now. We have to make sure we meet up at SAB one of these days:banana:

Hi all!
Maybe you can help me!:confused3 We are 66 days out and I know you can no check in 60 days out. It seems in the past, since I started following this thread that most of you didn't recommend online checkin. With the possibility of the Magic Bands and FP+ being available for us 10/5 (a big maybe, I know), and the fact that we WANT to try them, do you think online check in is a good idea?? We did book LV and requested full balcony on our res through our TA.
Thoughts would be much appreciated!!:worship:
And now back to my excited count down:banana::banana:

I was just wondering about the military discount that's why I asked earlier cause I am booked in the WL for Dec and could only get a bunk room and wondered if the other resorts were like that only offering certain rooms with the discount. :confused3 would also like to stay in the BC in the future...:flower3:

I've used the military discount on rooms before. I think it is not so much limited to room type, as to how many rooms are set aside for military. If all the held for military rooms are taken, you are out of luck, or can try and try again, hoping someone will cancel.

I like the room only discount, as I can cancel 6 days before I come, without penality, and since I can get the military salute tickets, that are so much cheaper than even the no tax regular tickets we can get, there's no reason to bundle the room and tickets. Also, did you know, if you book a Disney Resort room, you can go to SOG and get your tickets, including the stars and stripes ones, if you cannot get the military salute tickets? Also, even with a military room only, you can add the dining plan, but doing so makes it a package, with package terms cancellation terms.

Have a great time! The WL is a beautiful resort.

Yep, we were there in October last year. We're going back this October for a day at the beach and a day at DCA. Lily prefers WDW in Florida (so does her Mom and Nanny).

We'll be at SAB from 10 AM to about 2ish Monday through Thursday ... look for Princess Lily and her family over by the zero entry area near the YC.

They collect pages from any child in the resort. Every time we have gone, the pages were in the Marketplace towards the end of the food ordering area. From all the pages they receive, they choose 3 or 4 a day to display as Artists of the Day. My lucky daughter has been chosen every visit. :)

Enjoy your time with Princess Lily!

Hi
If your room isn't ready when you arrive will they take your luggage and store it so you can enjoy the parks? I know CBR did this.

"Buzzy" might be a good one. Lol. We could walk around making the buzzing sound and if a fellow Diser is there they can reply. Lol. I wonder if others would think we were strange. Baaaahaaaa

This sounds great to me. Just imagine the looks from those poor unfortunate souls that don't know about these boards. Bzzzzz

We did not do online check in, but the magic bands appeared on the my disney experience app. I have customised our bands and selected our FP+ rides and times etc but haven't had the magic email to say we're part of the test yet, but did receive this email to say the bands have been shipped to YC ( Presumably because we're from UK - Others have had the, sent to their address). Hope this helps.

Thought I'd figured out photobucket so I can post pictures when I'm at YC in 20 days but don't know why the picture has gone blurry! Sorry!

Yes. They will store and deliver to your room whenever it is ready.

And to everyone that's posting their live reports.....

Thank You For Taking Us Along!

Me too:lmao:

Oh I have been planning since the day I found out my sister was pregnantpixiedust:

I have not had a bad meal at HH. I especially like the chicken salad with craisins and blue cheese

Sounds like fun. I have a fun update for you. Thought I was going to have to stay at the YC but finally after calling and calling and calling everyday I was able to book a GV room at the BC with the pass holder discount. Before today we could only do a LV or club level and I was uncomfortable spending that kind of $$ on an extra trip even though DH is dying to try CL. I told him maybe next time. But I will see you Sunday when I check in:cool1:

That is good to know that you haven't had a bad meal at HH! That chicken salad sounds really good, especially on a hot day. And congratulations on the birth of your niece!

We love the burgers.

And it is definitely hard to beat a good burger! So many tasty options to choose from :) And I hope you enjoy your time with your granddaughter. I don't have grandchildren yet, but my friends that do tell me that grandkids are the best!
