Don't miss restaurants for 3 yr old boy

Do you know if he likes characters or might be afraid of them? To me, there are no don't miss restaurants for a 3 year old. He's not going to know the difference! There are several nice characters meals if you think he would like them, it's been too long since my kids were that age but they liked the Pooh characters so we did Crystal Palace usually with them. Chip and Dale were fun at the Garden Grill at Epcot but we went way back when the had an afternoon ice cream social, which is long gone.

Coral Reef is fun for kids if they are close to the aquarium. Whispering Canyon Cafe has fun antics including a horse race. Tusker House is fun and the food is good, too.

Coral Reef was my favorite as a kid, but I was ocean obsessed (I could sit there and tell you what each shark was in the aquarium). Biergarten can be a lot of fun with the band.

Favorites for my boys as preschoolers included Rain Forrest Cafe and TRex Cafe but there is a slight fear factor with both. They liked Character meals of course too. Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends was a favorite as was Garden Grill. They also loved Pizza Planet but it is no longer open. There really is nowhere the kids will not feel comfortable.

Crystal Palace and one of the Mickey gang meals (Tusker, Chef Mickey, or H&V dinner)

My 3 year old son LOVES Tusker House breakfast at AK and Hollywood and Vine lunch at DHS. BOG dinner is a biggie too because he loves Beast. He really liked TRex last time too.

If he likes Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald, then Chef Mickey's is a slam dunk for photo ops and character interactions. The food isn't worth the price, but when you factor in EVERYTHING that is offered there, it very well could be. I was expecting the food to be horrific, but my family found plenty to eat that was pretty good, and we definitely ate well. We were able to take as many pictures (within reason) with each character as we wanted to at our table, and it appeared as though that was the exact same experience for each table.

my kiddo LOVED the ohana breakfast!

(he also loved chef mickey's breakfast but he was only 1 at the time and tusker house but he was only 2....basically he loves ALL CHARACTERS in any capacity)

Is he bothered by loud noises? If yes, then disregard this suggestion, but if no, I can see TRex being a lot of fun.

My son LOVES Cosmic Rays. I know it's just QS but it's a must do for him. He also enjoys Be our guest as a QS and a TS. We both enjoyed Chef Mickeys (breakfast), Garden Grill (dinner), and Tusker house (breakfast), even if somewhat rushed.

My son is 2 1/2, and his favorite meals are Tusker House and Garden Grill (for characters), Biergarten (band plays and kids can go down and dance), and Sci Fi (b/c you get to eat in cars). We are happy with the food at all of them as well.

My son's first trip was when he was 2.5. For meals we did: Crystal Palace winnie the pooh breakfast (he loved that one the best! He even punched tigger in the nose!), tusker house character breakfast, hollywood & vine character lunch, chef mickeys dinner, garden grill, 50s primetime, sci-fi drive in

When he was 5 we added in: rainforest cafe (he didn't like loud noises when he was 2 and now he says rainforest is his favorite!)

At three years old, our son has no interest in character meals but loved Biergarten.

Agree with the above, Crystal Palace is hard to beat! Reasons why it's high on my list for a 3yr old:

- Buffet is great by pretty much any standard; fresh, tasty, and with a special buffet for kiddos with kid-friendly stuff (mac and cheese, etc.)
- Being that it's a buffet, you can get in and out of there in a jiffy-- perfect for a 3yr old who wants to maximize ride time but does need to eventually eat!
- The characters interact with every guest during the course of the meal.

Enjoy your trip!

Mi kids could care less about restaurants at 3. They were all about the ride
Mine either but I do so I want places to eat that will entertain him so we can eat!

My DD is 3 and my DS is 5. They are generally all about the rides at local amusement parks, but at Disney, they wanted to meet the characters.

We did breakfast at Hollywood and vine for my sofia loving 3 year old, breakfast at chef Mickey's, and lunch at tusker house. All three were a lot of fun!

Chef Mickey was more chaotic, but the kids loved when the characters would dance around spinning their napkins. At this one, we had to watch for characters when getting food and run back if they were approaching our table. Tusker House was great and more laid back. We were able to eat and then the characters came into our room so it was more relaxing.

At all three locations, each character came to the table for hugs and I got a lot of great pictures. The parks were so crowded with crazy lines when we were there so the meals were a nice break for us.
