so my 6th grader has been having "issues" with a few other girls in her class. they've been nasty to her. what's hurtful about it, these girls used to be very close friends. it's easier to ignore nastiness from someone you never liked.
so last night I see my daughter doing her homeowrk for english class. the assignment is to read some material the teacher handed out, and to write an essay on the topic being discussed in the reading material.
she enjoys writing and wants to become a journalist someday. but I can see she's having "too much fun" with the project.
turns out the subject is "bullying", and how boys and girls have different ways of being nasty to each other.
I think she wants to read her essay on the subject to the class.
