Don't like the way they run the MNSSH

What if someone just wants to eat their overpriced Disney food at 6:55 knowing that they will be having a limited day, and want to get the most out of their time at the parks?

No one here needs to justify their dining decisions with you, and if they wanted to eat at 6:59 let them...I'm just not understanding what you're so concerned about someone elses dining reservations. Disney obviously lets them make the reservations, and WILL let them dine as I've seen so why are you so concerned? They will be promptly escorted out of the park after their meal is complete When you have your own them park, make the rules, it's not up to you to enforce Disneys' on your mortality scale.

I am not trying to enforce the rules. I am offering up an opinion. I said earlier in the thread that I could care less what other people do when I am at the parks enjoying myself. If you don't like my opinion, move on, ignore me, do whatever you feel you need to do.

Thanks! We were constantly checked for our party bands in those costumes. We were happy to oblige, but it would take some serious bravery to walk around the park like that without paying to be there. :rotfl2:

As a side question, I am assuming this was during MNSSHP? Do they allow people to come dressed as "Disney" characters during the party itself? ( assuming so). I know they can be a little picky on that during normal hours.

Yes you can! I believe the Halloween party is the only time adults can dress up as characters. I was Alice, and got A LOT of attention from the Queen of Hearts during the parade ;) I saw a lot of adult princesses and princes!

I'm also offering my opinion too - and for someone who cares less, you seem to have quite an investment thinking people are "lieing or cheating" by eating diner before the party begins...which is weird.

I would never have a problem with people eating dinner right before the party, but entering on a line for a ride, considering people pay for the hard tickets sometimes due to the quick lines, is a little... I don't know, I wouldn't feel good doing it.

I know and understand this changes from person to person, and I do believe that very few people do it with an ill intent (otherwise we would have much bigger lines in party nights!)

The reason they allow ADRs right up to 7 and past 7 is because the people with tickets to the party might want to eat. At 7:00 pm, you no longer have a valid ticket to the park. The ADR system does not care about park tickets when you are making the ADR. You can also make a reservation at Epcot for dinner, make one for every night of the week, but if you do not have a valid ticket to the park, you are not getting in. Having an ADR doesn't change that fact.

If you show up at the park at 6:30pm for a 6:55 ADR, don't be too surprised if they don't let you in without a party ticket, that's all I am saying. Maybe they will. Now, if you are already in the park well before the party, then I would doubt that they would kick you out but you would be asked to leave right after dinner, I am sure.
You will be allowed entrance. Your ticket is valid until 7PM After that you are not allowed in. You must be checked into your ADR before 7PM. You cannot check in at 7 if you do not have a party ticket. Disney does not care if their guests "waste" a park ticket for a 30 minute stay.

Just being in the parks isn't some amazing thing that people are being sneaky to do. The very few in this post who don't feel they have had a lot of bracelet checking, and the very few who have noticed lots of people that they feel did not have bands on, are the minority. So what they experienced is NOT how the parties are run. They got a fluke night or they thought they were seeing something other than what was happening. NO need to stay away because of it; CMs actually check for wristbands often and escort those without the wristbands out.

Did the OP indicate what time she was noticing all these problems?

I have always been impressed with how the CM's handle this difficult task. I am always in the park early on a party night. We like to get dinner out of the way so we have teh rest of the night, so we typically have a meal and then are in the shops that sell special party merchandise. Well, often there are guests completing purchases when the special merchandise is taken out for sale. No one can make that purchase without showing a band. It's a polite request, but one that shows that even though the CM's are sensitive to those who are completing their shopping, they also recognize that a Party ticket is honored for different purchases. I know that there are people who try to get around the rules, but I have never seen them. I have seen people who are completing a park day and may seem to be mingling with party goers, but what seems to be may ot be what is, KWIM?

For me, personally, I don't really care or monitor what other people are doing on my vacation. I do feel sorry for the CMs whose job it is to try to herd out the non-party goers. I am sure there are people who are well aware that the park closes for regular guests at 7 but will try to stretch it out past that time as far as they can. If you are planning to go into a shop at 6:50, odds are you will not be out of the park at 7 and most people know that. I am sure there are still people that will try to argue the point with CMs in order to stretch 7 to 7:30 or 8:00.

Not sure if this was directed at me, since I said I tried to enter the Firehouse shop at 6:50. But I had every intention of being out by 7 pm. I was looking for ONE specific fireman mickey ornament in a store about the size of my living room at home. Have you ever been in that store?? I wasn't entering the Emporium hoping to do a leisurely stroll and shop through it!!

In addition, if it had been 7 pm and the CM asked me to leave (whether or not I had completed my purchase - even if I had been in line to pay) I would have left. But at 6:50 pm, I still had a right to be there.

We knew the park closed at 7 pm. We made our way towards the exit early (well before 7) with this in mind. (By the way, we had tickets to MVMCP on another night, so we weren't trying to get anything "for free".)

As I wrote in my post, I will be there from rope drop that day, and I am aware they will be escorting me out of the park after I'm finished with my meal.

Hey, no one said anything about anyone else dying for the sake of MNSSHP! :lmao:

In reference to the poster you quoted, I found it so convenient that they have a 6:55pm res for Tonys, which is right on the parade route and made sure to tell us they had to eat slow. Gosh, no way they'll get to see the 8pm parade they didn't pay for. And like Tonys was the only place in the park to eat. And its perfect for her "time".....of course it is! Enjoy the parade you didnt pay for!

WOW! Are you serious right now?! First of all, I didn't think about it being near the parade or ANYTHING like that. I am eating at Tony's because they are one of only two restaurants that I was able to manage to eat and almost full meal without choking, because they are good at making a meal how I can eat it! I'm a two time cancer survivor. Stage 4 head and neck cancer. I have severe radiation damage. I am finally able to eat some solid foods, but I was on a PEG tube that went straight into my stomach for eighteen months. I DIDN'T EAT NOT ONE BITE OF FOOD FOR TEN MONTHS! I've had numerous surgeries to even be able to manage to swallow what I can, which is very soft foods. I cannot eat meat, and there is a list of things I cannot swallow! I love how people like you assume the worst in people and think they lying or something. I'm sorry, but your post has really upset me greatLy! My heart is just pounding right now I can hardly see because my eyes are tearing up. You really should be ashamed of yourself. I clearly said in my post that I had swallowing problems. I really hope you never understand what it's like to be in this nightmare of cancer that I live with and the daily pain and battle I have. Not just physically, but the joy I also once had with eating, because I DON'T HAVE THAT ANYMORE! I weigh 104 pounds soaking wet and by far, my greatest challenge when I go to WDW is trying to manage to get enough nutrition for the days I'm there! At home, I don't go out to restaurants, it's too hard to get food I can eat.

I guess maybe I should ask to be seated inside with my back to any window or ask to eat my meal blindfolded to prove I just want to eat dinner?

I think I'm done posting on these boards, at least for a while. :(

You don't have to go to that extreme.

I find it personally more satisfying to put those posters who continually annoy me on "ignore." That way, I can feed my Disney habit without jacking up my blood pressure or getting banned for responding to their posts.

ETA: And this newer board software is a great improvement, because it eliminates "ignored" messages from quoted responses as well.

All park ADRs, regardless of date or time, state that you must have valid park admission, and you have to check the box stating that you read that before you can complete the booking.

Yes, but I recall there being an extra notice about the hard ticket event...it caught ny eye because it was different than on our non party day reservations.

Congratulations on being a 2x cancer survivor! Not all of us immediately jump to thinking that people are trying to get around the system. And i hope you enjoy your trip and its great you found a resturant that suits your "diet" needs, having worked with someone with similar swallowing issues I have an idea of how hard that is, so i would not worry and enjoy your time at Tonys!

Don't leave, just do as Larry said, use the Ignore option if needed. It's a great tool.

Congrats on being a cancer survivor, that's amazing, you have been through so much. I hope you have a most wonderful, magical trip! pixiedust:

I know it is easier said than done, but don't let this make you angry. It isn't worth the effort.

I hope you have a magical trip - sounds like you really deserve it. And remember, you AREN'T doing anything against Disney rules! It doesn't matter what other people think the rules "should" be. What matters is Disney's rules. Just make sure you are actually checked in before 7 pm so they don't give you a hard time. I haven't ever tried to get ADRs around that time and situation, but i know in other situations I have had to wait in a long line to even check in for my ADRs. So plan a little buffer time so that you aren't late checking in and get disappointed that you can't eat.

Yes, my post was in response to someone saying that the ADR system doesn't care if you have a theme park ticket. I was pointing out that it always tells you you need one for an in park ADR. :)

You don't have to justify your reasons to anyone. Congrats on being a cancer survivor and for getting off your feeding tube. While I have never suffered from such devastating illness, I did suffer from celiac disease for quite some time before diagnosis, and I can relate to not being able to tolerate but only a small number of foods.

Your specific circumstances aside, I personally find it quite harsh for someone to say "enjoy the parade you didn't pay for" to anyone. Who cares? I hope you do get to see the parade from Tony's because it would be a neat experience, and it's not like you would be infringing on any paying partygoers space from your table. We have spent over $200 on our MNSSHP tix, and I could care less if there are still people in the park with ADRs who didn't pay for the party and might catch the parade. I'm not the least bit concerned with what other people MIGHT be doing there because it's really none of my business. I'm only worried about my family and our fun.

I hope you have a wonderful trip and that you will reconsider leaving these boards over some very thoughtless and pointless comments. Best wishes in your battle against cancer too. My mom is undergoing chemo and radiation now, so my heart really goes out to you. God bless!

IIRC pretty much the only thing they ask if you are dressed as a Disney character is that you do not pose for pictures with other park goers not in your party.
