I have not been able to get reservations for LeCellier for our upcoming trip. I am going to try to walk up and see if I can get a table for 2 for lunch. Is there a time that would give me a better chance... right as they open, a little while after they open, or later in the lunch time???
I know my chances are slim, I just want to at least try so I can get my mushroom fillet!
Any thoughts... other than :rotfl2:

Thanks!

I too would go right a opening. Then if they don't have a spot ask when might be a good time to check back. I would think the 2:30 spot wouldn't be too popular. We often try to shoot for a late lunch and make that our main meal of the day.

We have had success at many places right when they open...never tried that for LC tho....good luck!

Go about 15 minutes or so before opening and ask. They will either say no, or maybe. They typically don't decide until right before opening, but there will be other people there trying to get in as well, so you want to be ahead of the game. I have seen them take a few walk ins right at the beginning, but it was during slow season, and during the week.

Better still, keep calling. Call every day. Call after you get there. People cancel all the time and it's better to go with an ADR than to try to go without.

Keep in mind that the lunch and dinner menus are different, so if there is something you really like on the dinner menu, double check to see if it's available for lunch.

We went right at the beginning of dinner and got a walk up in the middle of July.

You never know! I would make an alternate ADR just in case, but check once you get there, just in casae.

Go as soon as you can get there. I have been able to get in twice for lunch but never for dinner as a walk up. Also keep trying to get an adr before you get there.

My parents just returned and did just this with SUCESS!! They planned the trip all last minute and could not get any ADR's but were able to eat anywhere they desired with walking up. They went for lunch here on this past Tuesday. Of course I told them they would never be able to do it, but they love proving me WRONG!

Good luck.

As I just posted on another thread, there is nothing truly special or unique about Le Cellier. From my experience, it was nothing more than average food with extremely high prices. The restaurant itself is in the basement, so it is dark and depressing (in my opinion)

If you do want to eat at Le Cellier for lunch, try walking up right as it opens. :)

We had a great meal at LC this past January. I enjoy the ambience of the place myself - like a cozy wine cellar.

Let us know if the walk-up works! I couldn't get a dinner reservation for our upcoming January trip, and I would try this myself if I thought there was a chance!

Good Idea OP, I was going to call every day and check, but as a last ditch effort I will show up at opening to see if I can get in!

I would recommend going right at opening time. Good Luck.

When we were there in August (with an ADR) couples were trying to get walk ups for dinner and the CM said the best time to try was right when they opened for dinner.
