Don't know what to do....AKL Construction has me undecided

Was all set to book AKL for January and finding out about the construction bummed me out. I don't want the noise to ruin our first stay in a deluxe or get bumped to another resort. Now I'm considering WL.

Is the construction that bad?

Our trip is at the end of September and I am getting really bummed about not being able to enjoy the AKL.

I keep getting conflicting reports about the construction, I called the resort and the lady said that the construction was almost over;yet on these boards, on more than one instance, I have heard the noise is horrible and the construction will last until the very end of September.
I don't know who to believe. I am starting to think maybe I'll cancel and plan another trip some other time.

The construction is all indoors, on the 5th and 6th floors, and only occurs during specific hours in the daytime.

The construction is in phases, in various parts of the AKL. If you are staying in a section where there is no construction going on, you won't hear a thing. If you're staying on the 4th floor and they happen to be working right above you, you probably will hear some noise.

I've seen responses from some folks who just got back from AKL and didn't hear a thing, and others who did.

Thanks for posting that map, mprewitt. The construction schedule shown there is only for the existing building; do you have any idea when the construction for the new building begins? I would think that work would be very disruptive to anyone staying at that end of the resort.
