I'm still not crazy about the room decor, the size of the studio (trust me, I notice these things), the fireworks lounge being for DVC members only, or the high cost.

But I can appreciate the proximity to MK and the good views, and I do like how they organized the kitchenettes/full kitchens. Thanks for the pics, they were really good.

I think the MK prox is the best thing about this resort of course So if you buy in, thats great for you all

How did you find the space in the bedroom? It looks really squished between the bed and the curtain, as though you can't even walk by the chair to get to the nightstand, because the chair appears to be mostly in front of it. Is it that way in "real life"?

I like the kitchen and bathroom but the bedroom/living area decor/colors are still just too for me. I will check out the models in Nov. when we are at SSR though.

Yeah I thought the same thing at first...but when we saw it in person we were blown away and I was like OMG i have to tell everybody on the DIS that they really are not that bad.

We loved AKV too and we did go to the resort to check it out and I fell in love and was very happy that we chose that for our home resort. I love the feeling like you are in some little escape..you really do feel like that.

DW and I looked at the models too while we were at SSR on our developer points. We too felt like some others here; they are not our taste but I really see nothing wrong with them, other than that misplaced sink that others have mentioned.
We absolutly love the AKV models and after visiting AKV for the first time, we too like the "remoteness" of the resort.
Like the OP, we both really fell in love with SSR. We like the looks of it, the location, the staff and so on. It is truly fortunate that for all of us that feel the same way, SSR appears to be very easily reserved at the 7 month mark. As previously reported, I was able to swap out two studios I had reserved in March for 2 one bedrooms with no problem. I had to buy a add-on to get the points that we needed but I was going to anyway. I was amazed at how easy the swap was after reading some horror storys on the DIS about similar types of swaps.
It appears from this thread that a lot of new DVC members were there the same week on the developer points.

We just came back from SSR and we checked out the BLT rooms too. We thought they were pretty cool looking, but we would tire of it quickly. I guess that is why we love SSR so much.... to us it has timeless, classic beauty....thats just more our taste.
