Don't Fear the Rain, We Have the "Ducky of Death!"-Jan '14 **Bonus TR DCA 9/1 x2

Great updates. Looking forward to the rest of your exciting evening.

I do love me some great Pirates photos and you sure delivered. Easily one of the toughest to photograph. ANNNNND one of my favourite gift shops to just play around in.

How cool to have a special appearance by the Captain. It really proves that sometimes rain can be a good thing. :thumbsup2

Great pictures of POTC!! I just told DH that Pirate Mickey is coming home with me in November. :thumbsup2

Yay rain! (Not something you hear from many Disney guests :lmao:) How cool that they both got special visits during their makeovers.

Hoping you enjoyed Be Our Guest dinner as much as we did! :thumbsup2

I highly recommend both of these experiences which was very memorable for the kids – something that they won’t forget for awhile. I was a little worried that DD’s make up and glitter would be too “overdone” but the Fairy Godmother-in-training did an awesome job keeping things fairly balanced. It definitely set the stage for our dinner and cruise which I’ll tell you all about on a different post.

Adorable!

I bet your kids had an awesome time. And you're right, these are experiences they will always remember. Very special! :good vibes

Love your pictures. That lens really did its job, again! NICE!

Thanks! We'll revisit the rest of the evening on a future post. :goodvibes

I felt bad that I couldn't remember Jack Sparrow's first mate's name. He was equally engaging as well.

I love the gift shop at PotC as well. There are so many unique items that you won't find at other stores in Disney.

Pirate Mickey made a strong case for a purchase. ;)

We really embraced the rainy weather and the benefits that came with it - most important one being very low crowds at the parks.

Spoiler alert about BOG - we enjoyed it a lot. :goodvibes

Thanks Mary Ellen! I had such a positive experience with this particular lens and the online rental company. Much better all around than my last rental experience in October.

Both kids had an absolutely magical time that extended all the way through the end of the day.

The pirate makeover sounds like something I want to do! Hahaha the place is so cool inside! Jack sparrow came to visit? Even more awesome!
And it sounds like your DD had a wonderful time at the BBB, and later with the princesses, so adorable!

So glad that DD and DS had fun at their makeovers. We did BBB once about a year ago and both of my girls loved it. In fact, my soon to be 9 year old still wants to do it again. I guess girls never get too old to be primped and pampered! :rotfl:

Can't wait to read about BOG and the cruise!

Christine

I am convinced the full name of that song is "Be who you want to be ... as long as it is a pirate or a princess since that is what dress up clothes we have to sell you" ;)

Great pictures - though I guess the room isn't so "secret" now ;)

Glad they enjoyed the process - still debating whether or not to do one of the makeovers for our next trip. Kinda viewing it as a "once in a lifetime thing" and wondering when is best for that one time

Alright, I just subbed in and am super excited to read about the rest of our trip. Isn't BBB the best? Your pictures are wonderful, can't wait to see more.

They did an excellent job with the decorations at PL! I was secretly hoping that perhaps Jack Sparrow would make a visit since I knew his tutorial shows were cancelled because of the rain. It was so awesome!

Our DD would probably go for it again if we let her! :goodvibes
We won't have time in October but I'm sure she'll be asking about it again next summer.

We did the same thing. We framed it as a once in a lifetime thing for both DD and DS with their make over experiences. More so because there's always new things to try and experience at Disney. :thumbsup2

Great update! :)

Thank you!

Welcome and thank you for joining! :rotfl:
BBB was definitely a positive experience for all of us!

Both makeovers look like so much fun! Paxton has gotten into the pirates thing more too, and everything long is immediately turned into swords for us to duel with. :rotfl:

VERY cool about all of the performers coming inside to entertain because of the rain, especially Jack!! What a bit of luck that was.

I'm sure DD thought meeting the princesses after her makeover was just icing on a really awesome cake. And you met my favorite friend of Rapunzel!!

We are planning a pirate day and the girls are going to the pirate league! They need to do something other than princess stuff every day :rotfl2: Pirates OC is my favorite ride always has been since it opened in Disneyland.........yes I was there at the beginning as a child..... ...we lived in Vegas and my aunt lived in annihiem so we visited often. She had 4 boys all older who spoiled me rotten and took me to Disney every time!!
So always loved pirates......pirate pics anything pirate!! We belong to a pirate crew called the Scarlet Harlets.....at the Rennisance Fair.

They will also get the princess treatment don't worry and we plan to dress as Fairy's for the MNSSHPI bought them wings when they were here last summer.

I'm debating making a special trip to DHS just for an hour or two in October just to get this shot that now I'm obsessed with. :rotfl:

Haha... I say go for it!

I absolutely love PotC and the gift shop after the ride is one of my favorites in the whole World.

I've never seen a write-up of Pirates League and it sounds amazing!! I love how they pick their pirate names. And can I just say how jealous I am about Captain Jack??!?! *swoon* pirate:

Rapunzel looks very familiar. I'm pretty sure we've met ;)

I'll admit, I haven't read much about the Pirates League makeover, so your update was very informative. It looks like it was a lot of fun for your DS, and I can only imagine how thrilled your DD was to have done BBB. Have to say, that sounds like a pretty great afternoon for your kids.

I think Paxton would really enjoy PL!

DS has recently gone from pirates to jedi and we've been having a lot of light saber duels. ;)

I really liked Rapunzel's interaction with DD. It was very lively. :thumbsup2

That's great that you're doing Pirates League for the girls. I think they would really enjoy it. I would have loved DD to have done the PL but happy that she thoroughly enjoyed BBB.

And MNSSHP will be so much fun for them as well! We're making a short trip to Disney on Halloween to attend two MNSSHP. I really wanted to introduce MNSSHP to the kids.

Haha... I say go for it!

My DHS plans might work out after all. DS has really gotten into the world of Star Wars and lately has been engaging in lightsaber duels with me. So I may have to go to DHS if he decides he wants to participate in Jedi Training ;)

I was impressed with pretty much every aspect of the Pirates League. Sparrow was just a big bonus.

They both had a great time! And they loved that they were dressed up for the cruise later that night.

Subscribing! The photos are incredible…you swayed me to really considering Animal Kingdom Lodge on my next trip!

First of all, I'm glad your kids have come around and actually enjoyed their ride on POTC!!! Baby steps...

PL and BBB seemed to have worked out great for you! For once the rain was a good thing. That is incredible that your DS got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow while he was becoming and official pirate. And I don't blame you at all for wanting to get your picture taken with him! :rotfl:

I'm glad your DD got to go see some princesses after BBB. I think that's kind of a mandatory thing though. Royalty has to stick together. :thumbsup2

The more I think about it the timing of both character interactions at PL and BBB, we really lucked out on that timing.

We did have CRT breakfast that morning but I figured DD would want to meet at least a princess or two after her make over. Plus we hadn't seen Rapunzel all trip so this was a good of an opportunity as any.
