Don't FALL, now Hakuna Matata Team!!!

Connie hope you are feeling better today! :grouphug:

Connie, I will PM our miles :goodvibes

Scott - burning lungs sounds terrible - take care!

Rest Day for me-

Michigan after 3 1/2 days of heavy rain, tornadoes yesterday, added high winds this afternoon. They said the rain will finally end tonight, so will be able to walk in the morning. :goodvibes

Scott, feel better.

Eva, I know this was a little while ago, but thanks for the Hal Higdon suggestion. I'm now following the Intermediate plan for 10k (it seems to fit me better than the novice, even though I haven't run a 10k before).

Margie, Stay safe in that weather!

I ran 6 miles today at just under a 9 minute pace. I'm still around a month out from my 10k, but my goals are as follows: completely reachable, finish and preferably under 1 hour, realistic finish under 55 minutes, and finally my having the perfect day/better than expected goal would be to finish under 50 minutes. Seeing as today was a 54 minute 6 miler I may end up modifying these.

Best,
jennifer

Had a good time despite the rain today for Miranda's shower. It was difficult but in the end the bride was happy and I think for the most part everyone had a good time. I'm beat but glad it's over. Here is a picture of her with one of the squares I made for her quilt. Everyone that came to the shower signed a square which I in turn will make into a quilt.

I used my favorite disney song, A dream is a wish your heart makes....

Mark did the layout for me and I traced it using a light table. We make a good creative team.

The second picture is of me and her after I have put on her "flowers" made into the shape of a Mickey head and some left over Mickey ribbon that I kept from an arrangement that she sent me while I was in Disney

Sorry I can't get it bigger but if you click on the small picture you can get to see the bigger version.

Thanks, Jennifer! Carrie finally got me last night after hearing a tornado touched down in Portage on the New 8 - but it was a few miles way Paw Paw. There was no damage other than water problems in my area.

Denise - I love quilt square for the quilt you are making for Miranda. I looked at your pictures - KWEL mailbox.
:goodvibes

Denise I'm trying to think up a Panda Logo for my Blog. So far my best idea is a fat panda kinda blurring into a muscular panda. If I could draw I'd show you.

Is everyone getting rain ans wind? It has looked very stormy here all day.

Margie, hows that little foot?

Today was a rest day for me so no training to report, but the last 2 days were really good workouts. Oh and there were 9 runners total behind me in the 5 mile race.

Have a great evening y'all.

Yes the mailbox Mark made and he's in the process of designing a new one. It's starting to peel now so we'll see what he comes up with.

I'm still tired today but will get back to walking tomorrow. Bride was happy so that's all that counts.

Denise, maybe we could make a barter trade. Mark draws me a Panda Logo and I help you guys with your walking technique.

Ok guys I'm off for a day of high adventure at the gym.

Is everyone ready to train for the January races?

Walking Panda:hippie:

I am giving it one more day o rest to get the crud outta my system.

Slow weekend, just got the bookcases trimmed out, lawn mowed and the smoke detector up in the basement and did a fitting of the doors. Lynn will be busy staining.

We also made an apple pie with apples from our trees, and Lynn made some great apple butter from the crab apples, had enough for one jar.

Wrapping my mind around January.

I think I am in Columbus next week.

There are races on 9/20 and 9/27 here in Cheyenne that we will probably do, both are 5K events more fun runs.

Denise, yes a very KEWL mailbox, the snow pictures reminded me that winter will soon be upon us. I guess that is why WDW in Jan will be fun.

We also booked an Adventures by Disney trip to Peru for Sept of 2009. Looks like that will be my new retirement date, will give me a full 30 years.

Good Morning Team!

Just a quick drive by here - I have a dentist appt that I forgot about - good thing that they called to remind me this morning!

Not much activity over the weekend, although it was really nice out - may not make it out today, because of dentist, the basement has priority - I at least have to get the first coat of stain on today!!!!! and I have some sanding to do first.

Dave - congrats on the race!

Denise - nice quilt!

I did order two skirts the other day, one NB and one runningskirt.com - on the runningskirt one, I went with the size 3 athletic skirt that was on sale, and I tried the Disney08 discount code, even though I read somewhere that it was only good until Aug 31, we will see if I get the discount.

Need to get going, have some more phone calls to make before leaving for dentist!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone! I had a busy weekend - lots of running around to get errands done and my sister was having a birthday dinner. DF also went shopping for running shoes. He's worn a hole in the heels of the shoes he has now. I'm not sure if the shoes were defective or a poor fit. We went to the New Balance store and they were having a promo where you'd get free jacket with purchase so he said I could have the jacket :thumbsup2 I think it will be good for running in cooler weather but not really cold weather.

Scott - Hope you feel better soon! The apple pie sounds yummy!! I didn't realize that you could make stuff from crab apples. There are a lot of them in our neighbourhood and I'm forever stepping or crushing them when I'm out running.

Lynn - Which colour skirt did you get?

Dave - Congrats on the race!! The panda logo sounds cool! We had rain and wind last night. It was very humid during the day and just after dinner, the rain and winds arrived. It looks like it's cleared up today though.

Denise - Love the quilt! It's gorgeous!

Eva - I'm counting on that saying that being under trained is better than being over trained!

What a humid weekend for Sept.! Was concerned about the weekend weather. Changed it up a bit with long run on Sat. (9mi.) & short on Sun. (3mi.) to stay ahead of the rain.

Dave, Congrats on the great race results.

Scott/ Lynn, Love the kids.

Denise, The quilt looks wonderful. When do you find the time?

Connie, Hope you are taking good care of yourself.

Happy training.....Sue

everyone thak you. especially denise and mark for the miles. and everyone else. too for pd and lovely thoughts. who knew that the rarest and most beautiful gems.... are you.

Hi!

Checking for an update on Connie - have I missed it?

Was hoping to get out for a walk this morning/afternoon, but Brady came early so it had to be postponed until he is picked up tonight.

Foot is still a bit swollen with the hard knot in the center-

After 3 1/2 days of constant heavy rain it has finally stopped. We did have high winds last night.

Lynn, I like Vicky would like to know which skirts you purchased?

:hippie: Logo ~ Kwel

:lmao: Oh, Scott - this is resting :confused3

I did mention it to him as he walked out the door this morning. Once he gets his thinking cap on, we'll see what he comes up with.

Pssssssssst , Sue, did you see my miles last week? That's where my time went. Balance is not something I achieve very well but I'm trying!

Hi, everyone!

Connie had a rough day today. She was by herself and seemed like everything that could go wrong, did. She was going to head to bed early. I hope tomorrow will be a better day!

I am working long hours this week so that I can take Thursday and Friday off to go down to Connie's, so not much exercising to report.

Dave, congrats on your race!

Denise, the quilt block is beautiful. I'm glad the bride enjoyed her shower!

Eva and Scott, hope you're back up to speed very soon! Margie, your foot still sounds......awful! I must have missed reading what it was you did to it.

Everyone else, keep up the good work. I'm off to bed early myself -- too much grandkids this weekend! :scared1:

I did get a short fast run in this morning, and just at the end had to briefly stop to hack up some crud. Will shoot for a 5 K tomorrow.

Our weather has been great, sunny fall like days, just wonderful, now if I werent stuck in the office this week. Oh well.

Columbus next week. Training class.

Went home last night and crashed. Mark came home around 7 from work. I had my usual headache from not working out. So.......I said Tomorrow for sure we have to walk. Mark says - why not go out now? Cool enough to do it tonight - I wanted relief so off we went in the dark with my flashy-thingy hooked to my butt to make sure we could be seen in traffic. Saw the full moon over the city with a few clouds. It's where we usually see the sun rising in the morning. Good times, and after about mile 1 my neck felt better.

So I have started again, and Connie has some miles from Mark.

Dave will send you a PM about the logo - we did discuss it briefly on our cooldown.

denise

Good morning y'all.

Scott I watched the show yesterday. Different from what I expected. I can understand the frustration. Where is Charles Bronson when you need him to make house calls.

Princess Erica and I are heading off to walk, not sure how far yet, she hasn't told me. She sure is looking good, she is dropping inches, but since she is exercising the weight is not dropping as fast. But as Denise said the inches are what counts.

Connie, feel better dear friend.

Margie hope you can find some me time today. I know being a grammy nanny can tax your time.

Will it be getting cold in Canada by the end of Oct at ToT time?

Kathy, keep Connie sane for us.
