DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

Too funny about Dinosaur. :rotfl:

Sounds like you made the most of the rain. :thumbsup2 Score on the seats at FOTLK! :cool1:

Hum....If I reprimand you on your parenting skills, then I'd have to reprimand myself too 'cause I've used those same techniques before. :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I think we all probably have at some point, Lisa!

Aww poor Meg - threatened by the Dinosaur ride.
We prefer not to use the word "threatened", and just say, "reminded."

I called those temper tantrums "hissy fits" and still do (and I swear at 24 and almost 22 they still have them sometimes).

Oh, yes, my 16 and 14 old have them as well; they're just past the point of screaming and crying to get their way. They use other tactics now! ;)

What a shame about the rain, but it sounds like you made the best of it by hitting all the shows.

We did the best we could with the rain. We hit the shows, put on the ponchos and just went with it. The only thing that I hate is that we missed out on riding EE. It wasn't running because of the rain. :sad2:

Ha! It does look like you are trying to force the poor child to look at the scary dinosaur
I am sticking with my story of "shielding" the child from any danger. :lmao:

Your AK day sounds like a pretty good day except for the rain. The rain from last May has me stressed about this upcoming trip. I don't want to deal with that again this year.

I've seen some pictures of all that rain from last May, and I have to say, Dana, that I don't want anything even close to that during this May trip.

Poor Meg! Forced to look at that scary dinosaur and get "stung" by hornets! :rotfl: Hope she wasn't too traumatized.

Trust me, Courtney, from the way she was about going to sleep every night, I don't think she was too traumatized by it. ;)

Oh my! What wonderful parenting :lmao: (I LOVE IT!) Poor Meg :rotfl2:

Thanks, Katie. We are in the running for parent of the year! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

My goodness, that is so funny about the dinosaur. I may have to use that line on my youngest next time we go. He wants to ride it for the first time and I"m sure that it is going to scare him into a "fit".

By all means, go ahead and try it. I'm sure that you'll never find such a discipline technique in a child-raising book. :lmao:

... we bought ponchos, but the rain was still so hard that it managed to wash the contact lenses out of DH's eyes! :lmao:
Oh my goodness---I can't imagine it raining like that!

Well, this really begs the question... "Did it work??" :rotfl:
Kathy

Well,...............................................:rolleyes1

hahaha, love the ride picture! :rotfl:

Thanks, Sarah!

You really lucked out with those FOTLK seats! :thumbsup2 And got some fantastic pictures!! That is my very favorite show! :goodvibes
Yes we did, Julia. FOTLK is in a tie with Beauty and the Beast for my favorite shows at Disney. :goodvibes

What is your sister doing to her son! He looks like he is getting strangled!
:rotfl: Yes it does look like that. ARE YOU READING THIS SISTER???

It's quite funny how my sister always points out my part in this situation, but she tends to ignore her role in the action! :lmao:(BTW, I know that she will read this;))

I hate that part of sticking it out at the parks in the rain. Squishy shoes.

Squishy shoes always = a bad thing! :)

Too funny about Dinosaur. :rotfl:

Yes, Carissa---the seats were great, to get them as the show was starting up, even better!

Joining in!

Now going back to read :surfweb:

:wave2: Hi Jennifer and welcome to my TR. :welcome:

I see from your tickers that you have a trip around August-September. :) Are you hoping for some free dining? I see a lot of excitement over on the codes and rates thread forum about the possibility of FD being announced.

:rotfl2:Funny, funny! I was just trying to get ahead for the Mother of the Year award!

No really, Reese was really nervous to ride Dinosaur. He tends to let his nervousness hold him back even when he really wants to try something. As soon as the ride started, he wanted me to put my arm around him. I was also trying to hold onto Meg since she was nervous too and that ride is really bumpy. That left my most precious child, my Rebel, strapped across my chest, bouncing all around. So, I pulled Reese in closer so I could hold down my camera while holding onto him.

Enjoying your trip report Sis! Wish I was at Disney now!

Thanks!

Actually, we had the 40% year long PIN and booked the GF. Then, my mom and I decided to buy DVC together in February. We figured since we take my nephews at least once a year so my brother and SIL can get away alone and have a couple of big family trips planned, it makes sense. So, we're using points for our August trip.

I'm enjoying your tr ad ptr. BTW, your daughters are beautiful and your nephew is adorable!

We were there at the same time as you! It si funny about the title... My 8 year compately freaked out! Our picture showed my arm with the unsightly, unrocognizable growth on it! She was screaming so bad by the end of the ride other people in our car were laughing at her! Now every time we go into somethign dark or whatever we tell her it's a Diansaur ride! lol

Oh, so now we know the truth about which child you love the most---His name is Canon Rebel!

I wish I was at Disney too! :lovestruc

Wow---DVC-I'm jealous. I would love to buy some of that. :)

Thanks for the sweet compliments! :goodvibes

:rotfl: You know that ride really is scary !

Glad you're reading along. :thumbsup2

Michelle, I can't believe y'all did that to that child! :lmao: That is one funny picture! I'm still laughing thinking about it.

Note to self, when you are going to mistreat a child, don't do it where or when the camera is going to get evidence.....:lmao:
That photo is a scream! You all crack me up!!

Jen, I knew you bought in, but didn't know the details of when and why. I have now ordered the DVD for DVC TWICE and have gotten NOTHING!

Love the pics from FOTLK! It is one of our favorite shows in all of WDW.

I love the "parenting technique". Hey! Whatever works!

Well, Alicia, now you know the truth about us and our parenting skills. :rotfl:

Evidence? What evidence? I stick with my story of trying to protect that poor baby from getting bounced out of the ride!

Thanks, Megan. I love FOTLK too. It makes me happy everytime I see it! :)

Hi Michelle,

I'm still trying to catch up but wanted to go ahead and comment on what I've read & seen so far.

I love the pics! The Wishes pics turned out great. Fireworks seem really hard to photograph but yours turned out super. :thumbsup2

....One funny side note----The girls said that when the bus pulled back stage at the Studios, the Disney rep. gave them a list of rules. The one my girls could remember was , “NO PICTURES BACKSTAGE”. The rep. said it would ruin the Disney magic for others!

We were basically told the same thing on our trip in Nov 2007. We went down with my DD's cheerleading squad and attended one the Y.E.S. programs. We were allowed into the park at 8AM before it officially opened and were instructed not to take any pictures for the exact same reason. When we worked our way up to Cinderella's Castle the CM's with our group let us take one group shot. I was able to sneak a few more though :ssst:

Also, thanks wdwgirl03 for posting the link about the Alabama shirt on the Disney Store.com. :thumbsup2 I tried so hard to find this shirt before our trip. They were originally sold at Disneyland during the National Championship game and a co-worker of mine had one but I couldn't find one anywhere.

Well - I'm going back to catching up. Can't wait to hear more....

Well, Thanks, Amanda! :) Did you have a great trip yourself? You need to start on a trip report, so I can read all about it. :thumbsup2

Aren't those CMs funny about not destroying the magic. It was almost comical the way they were about having to escort us out of the park.

First off, I need to make a correction to where I ended things on that Sunday night.

We did return to POR and grab a bit to eat, but we didn’t make an early night of it. Fantasmic was showing that night, so we went over to DHS to catch the first performance that night. I think it was the 8:30 show, with the second one at 10.

We got to the park around 7 p.m., and made our way down to the theater. They had already opened the gates, so we went on in and found a seat. We actually wound up sitting near Elizabeth’s algebra teacher and some of the students from the band. We had great seats, center section, about mid-way up. :thumbsup2

No pictures, but the show was great, as always!

Monday morning dawned a little bit cooler than the previous day. The rains the day before had cooled off the temperatures. We decided to make today a DHS day, and planned to get there around opening time. Of course, with my two girls, that just didn’t happen. :sad2: I don’t remember exactly what time we got there, but it wasn’t too long after opening. We defied conventional wisdom, and did not head to Toy Story Mani a first thing. :scared1: Instead, we headed to

We grabbed a Rider Swap for my sister to ride later, and the girls and I headed into the stand-by line. The posted time was only about 15-20 minutes. As I went up the ramp towards the first door, I took this picture. I thought it was neat with the dead-looking branch hanging out in front of the hotel.

Now, my memory gets somewhat foggy. :confused3 I can’t remember if my sister, Kelly, Rachel, and I rode ToT next, or if we headed back toward Pixar Place. I know we rode Tower a couple of times that day. Elizabeth always sat out with Reese and Meg. She does not like this ride, never has! She rode it a couple of times when she was younger and hated it and refuses to give it another try! I’ve given up on making her try it.

I know at some point while it was still morning, we went over toward Pixar Place.

You can tell from the sky, how overcast it was that morning. The lack of sunshine really made it feel cool.
We hung around in this area; I’m thinking that at some point we went in The Great Movie Ride.

We had a lunch reservation for Sci-Fi at 11:20 a.m. I was anxious to try this, since we’ve never eaten there in nine visits. At the same time, I was a little nervous, because I’ve read some not-so-good reviews of it.
We had all skipped breakfast, so we were starving and headed over there by 11. Check out the sky---the clouds had burned off, and there was sunshine! Still cool, but at least some sun! :cool2:

IMG_0420.jpg

We got checked in and took some pictures. Everyone had to try out the car! :)

IMG_0423.jpg

We were seated and I snapped this picture. I think that this is the last time Rachel and Reese turned around. They “zoned” out watching the movies for the next hour. They are two peas in a pod!

IMG_0425.jpg

It was hamburgers and shakes all around, except for Elizabeth who ordered the turkey sandwich.
