about 2 weeks ago I called the airlines to see how much it would be to change from main cabin extra to premium economy--when I told the agent that was a little more then I wanted to spend he said let me see what else I can do-he gave me a price which was lower but never told me he changed our flight times--I only found this out a few minutes later when I got the email. So I called back and the agent was able to get us back what we had but was given a credit--seeing this wasnt my fault I cantacted AA but they said this is what they could do

I filled out the form that one of the agents I talked said to do
today I get the response
I am happy to tell you the refund was credited back to your credit card on July 3

this was for the upgraded seats they automatically refund those
I knew about this refund last week already
its the other for the agents error--
so now I have to tell my story again
now if I dont her back in a few days Im disputing the charge with the CC if the agent read the form she would have seen what refund I was talking about
sory just needed to vent--thought it would be fun to upgrade--last time I do that
thanks for listening

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What form are you referring to? And you got the refund on your CC, or you didn't?

And you do know you can post on a previous thread so posters can see the history, right?

???? So you changed your seats- and unknown to you the agent ALSO changed your flight - and when you found this out you called and had your flight changed back to your original flight?
And you were credited back to your credit card the costs?
I'm not seeing the issue, am I misunderstanding/misreading your post?

Perhaps they read the form but had trouble following how you told the story.

Only because I‘ve read the OP’s multiple other posts about this (and all the follow-up explanations in them), I think I understand.

The bit you’re missing that she wasn’t refunded back to her credit card, she was given a travel credit. She had filled in some sort of form to “trade” the travel credit for a refund. Today(?) someone from the airline called to say that the refund was processed so the OP assumed it was this 600 USD. However, the refund the agent was referring to was actually a different issue (I seem to recall that when she got back onto the right flight, she had lost her “main cabin plus” seats (for which she had paid extra). That was refunded without issue on 3-July. And it was this refund (not the 600 USD charge for the changed flights) that agent was talking about (not the actual problematic refund).

basically sirduff has it right--I was told by an agent that I talked to to fill out this form--she gave me the link-which I listed everything that happened --
I also talked to 2 mangers that said they could not do anything this is before I got the email today ( I knew that the seats would be refunded and then I could rebuy them which I did so I have my original seats back)
but if this agent really read and checked my account she should have been able to see what charge/refund I was talking about--she never mentioned the travel credit at all
I have all my paperwork in order along with names and dates so when I disput with the CC Ill have everything
thanks

Based on your posts here it's not surprising an agent wasn't sure what charge/refund you're referring to. I've read your past threads, so have a decent idea, but I'm still confused.

Personally, I would be concerned if I did a charge back on the CC that the airline might cancel the entire flight.

trip is sept and for sure well enjoy no question--just is very disappointing when you try to do something thats a little fun ( upgrading just a bit-- ) not getting what you paid for or a refund when it wasnt your fault the first thing the agent should have said is I can get on a later flight for 630$ in the premium economy is that ok--not just change it

is that true that if I dispute the charges with the CC that the airlines could cancel my flight I never of such a thing but I suppose in this "new world" anything is possible..If thats the case I guess the only option I have is to suck up the money and live with it

I don't know if AA could (or would if they could) cancel the entire flight. I'm just saying I would be concerned about it.

This is very confusing, I, too, can see why there may have been an issue. As long as you are not disputing the cost of the current tickets you hold, I doubt they will cancel. If you are disputing the flight you are currently booked on and AA doesn't receive payment for your flight, then you could be in jeopardy of AA cancelling.

The whole story would be much easier to follow if the OP had kept to a single thread, clearly conveyed the total situation and current status plus any recent updates. I don't think most are going to bother searching out the prior threads, reading all of the various twists/turns previously relayed in order to unravel what is being asked. We can only offer helpful advice when the story is clear and all relevant details included.

Sorry this got confusing. I tried to tell it in steps like it happened. I am not disputing the original ticket booking. Only what I got charged for trying to upgrade. When the agent changed my flight time without telling or asking.

Happy Days. I get a phone call from American asking if I would like them to send me a check for the amount of the travel credit. I couldn’t reply fast enough. I’m just so glad this is over and I’ll get my ones back. Thanks for listening to my vents

So is this what you originally wanted?

basically yes--I would have been happy to if they would have credited back to my credit card
but this is just as good
very happy with the outcome it took some work and time but it paid off
