LOL!! We have never even stayed in a studio as our first trip was a one bedroom and now we feel we cannot possibly fit in a studio!

Boy, do I hear ya! We were at WDW a little over a month ago and the first night we were there, we stayed at All Star Movies. We were getting into MCO late and with it being a peak time (week of Easter & our Spring Break), we didn't want to spend 90 points on a 2-BR unit at SSR just to sleep. So, we rented a room at a value.

I will admit, going back to a room with two beds was tough! Even for a good night's sleep! It had nothing to do with the resort, as I would be saying the same thing had we stayed in a studio at SSR. In fact, of all of the value resorts, ASM was my favorite! I really enjoyed it and would stay there again. However, boy did I miss our 1-BR.

I have a better one for you, though. This year, we brought DMIL and DFIL, so we booked a 2-BR. Since that stay, (12) keeps asking when we can start booking a 2-BR instead of a 1-BR so that he and (5) will have their own "comfy" beds. I'm really glad that he's so worried about his little sister's comfort. I can just see you all wiping away the tear now.

I've never stayed at a "studio" but I have stayed in a regular room at All star music, Contemporary, POR, and a few other places like that. Once I purchased DVC I've only known 1 bedrooms! I hope to never go back...unless absolutely necessary!!

This is exactly what we're doing for our first trip home...I'm so used to POR that I'm not sure what's going to happen after this trip?!?!?!?!? Can you say Grand Villa??????

I so agree! We stayed in a studio at SSR last summer and it was very nice, but on our recent trip, DH and I were in a 1 bdrm. SV at AKV and oh my, I don't know how we'll go back to a studio!!

Wait until you try a 2 bedroom. DH won't stay in anything less now. He says it's because he wants the kids to have their own room instead of sleeping on the sofa bed.

Our first trip home is in a 2 bedroom. A studio will be very hard next time.

And the full kitchen and in room laundry. Only time we do a studio is OVIR @ VB for the view.

We're up to a 2BR now for all trips we plan in advance, and we are a family of three. We would only stay in a 1BR or a studio if we decided pretty "last minute" and we didn't have enough points. After our last two trips in a 1BR - DD14 said her back hurt from the sofa bed, it was awkward having the bed spread out in the living room, and both of my daughters like their own bed. I'd much rather go less often, or take the occasional cash trip, and use our points to have the really nice vacation we have when everyone gets their own bed.

Plus, two teen daughters have a lot of "stuff" and I love making the "none of your junk gets past your bedroom door into the living room" rule!!! Everything nice and tidy in the main living space, and everyone happy!!!

I did a one bedroom 4/22 and a studio this past weekend!

My DH & I are spoiled by the 1 bedroom, especially OKW! I think that having to go back to a studio & a queen bed would be hard, but I could manage for a weekend, but only a weekend.

I do love my comfort, & I am at an age where I get pleasure in small things. A laundry right in the room, a living area so I can read in comfort while my DH naps in the afternoon, a fridge for holding goodies, etc.

I will skimp on the points if we are taking the kids & grandkids, just a 2 bedroom for the 4 or 6 of us. I really don't like the grandkids sleeping in the living area, but that means that DH & I get to take a separate trip in a 1 bedroom by ourselves.

We're excited about our first DVC trip and a 1 br this Oct - can't wait, actually. We know there will be times for just DW and I to be in a studio - but we're looking forward to not going back to smaller, cramped quarters!!

Yeah, "downgrading" from the 2 bedroom to the 1 bedroom for shorter trips is terrible!!!! You get spoiled by the 2 bedroom for sure.

AMEN!! There are three of us, so we bought enough points for a studio. Then we decided to splurge for a one bedroom every other year. Last year was a studio year, and doing laundry in the laundry room at 2am decided it. As soon as we got home, we went on the waiting list to add on points. Nothing beats in-room laundry and a jacuzzi.

We just did our second add on the beginning of April. Next year we are planning a GV trip. After staying in a GV I may be in big trouble!
