Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen June 3-18 (MORE PICS ADDED 6/25!)

Can't wait to hear about the water park! We have not been to one either. Post pictures.

Elizabeth, have a great time at Blizzard Beach today!

Is Ricardo still at Yachtsman? Since we are staying at BC in Dec. I should probably ask dh if he wants to go there. Cant wait to see your pics!

Candy, the water park was a lot of fun! It wasn't crowded this morning so we got to do all the slides with no wait. But there are stairs. LOTS of stairs. If there is no line you have to go UP the stairs at a decent clip. VERY tiring! :rotfl2:

My friend drove over from Tampa this morning so we really enjoyed seeing her! She convinced DS to do Summit Plummet. DH and I stood at the bottom and watched. ;) DH and I did do the Slush Gusher (or whatever it is called). I got on with a regular swimsuit and got off wearing a thong. NOT my favorite experience. Lunch was just normal counter service - chicken wraps, chicken nuggets, fries. We really did have a good time even though DH and I are not huge water park fans. None of our cameras are water safe so we didn't bring one.

DS has a rash on his face. I don't know if it is from the sun, the sunscreen, the hotel pillowcases, or all of the above. He has had this problem before, but I can't remember how we fixed it.

Maryann, Ricardo is still there. :)

Yay so glad you had fun at BB! We were there from about 1:45 til now! So much fun! Mike got up the courage to do summit plummet, I did not! I did slush gusher which really bangs up my hips ouch! I hope the rash gets cleared up! Lots of love!

Hi!

Just found your TR tonight.

Sounds like you're having a great trip! I can't believe how much DS has grown.

AKL has a significant problem with people who are not staying club level coming into the lounge and helping themselves to LARGE quantities of food and drinks. (Like half a platter of chocolate covered strawberries.) If anyone is wondering why club level is so expensive and the offerings keep shrinking, there's your answer.

DH and I sat and observed this last night, then we went downstairs and reported it to the manager on duty. I am REALLY uphappy about this, and I will be pursuing it with both DVC and WDW. It is a BIG problem, not just a couple of people here and there. They are going to have to start requiring a room key for lounge access.
I am sad to read this. Don't you need your room key to access the floor on the elevator or get through the gate at the stairs?

Yes, the 6th floor is key card access. Unfortunately, people have figured out how to circumvent that. I had a voice mail last night from the manager I complained to. They are working on the problem, but it is "more of a project" than they anticipated so he doesn't have a completion date at this time.

DS has grown a bit. ;) Looking forward to pics of your 3 in August! I am sure they've grown a lot, too!

Allegra, you guys were arriving at Blizzard beach as we were leaving.

We might make it to AM EMH at MK this morning. Or not. We only have an hour to get ready and DS isn't awake. If he is too snarly we'll just go to Epcot.

Dinner last night was at House of Blues.

I had one of those Restaurant.com certificates for $50 off if we spent $100. It is harder to spend $100 than you might think, because their entrees aren't that expensive. It turns out that you can count alcoholic beverages towards the $100 total, though. That shocked me because usually drinks are excluded. Our waiter, John, was SO nice and very efficient. The atmosphere is cool, too. TONS of stuff to look at on the walls and the ceiling! I was a little nervous when they seated us bumped up against a stage (live music is always too loud for me) but luckily the stage stayed empty! :rotfl2:

We have not had very good luck with buses in the mornings this year. Twice we have had to wait for a second bus because there are so many people that the first one fills up! Last year the bus situation didn't get ugly until the second week.

We use restaurant.com all the time at home! If you subscribe to their newsletter, you can often get 60%, 70% or even 80% off their regular prices - that means a $50 cert is only $4.

Whether you can include alcohol depends on the restaurant; you have to read the fine print. (If alcohol is excluded, it will tell you right on the first screen, where you choose your dollar value.) Of course, in NYC, it's a lot easier to hit that $100 target, even just for the two of us...

The other thing we use a lot is OpenTable. OT restaurants tend to be a notch (or four) higher on the quality scale; they don't offer discounts, only online reservations, but you get points for each reservation you keep. 2000 points earns you a $20 gift check, good at any OT restaurant at any time, 5000 points = $50 and 10000 points = $100.

Elizabeth, I need headlines! What is the first dish in the pics from Yachtsman? It looks like pasta, no? Is that the kids mac and cheese?? Looks yummy. And what is the appetizer?

Yachtsman looks delish!! We did citricos for the first time last night and it was amazing! It's our last full day here, so we are hitting emh at mk! Hope to see you!

DH was rushing me. Blame him. I'll fix it in a minute.

Allegra, we are dragging but hopefully we'll make it out in the next 10 minutes or so! ;) We'll look for you guys!!

Wow. The first dish, Mac N Cheese looks awesome!

DrG. Thanks for the info on the discounts. Nice to know.

Did you have Ricardo at the Yachs?

I just have to say, I cannot believe how much more crowded it is this year compared to last year at the same exact time. Next year we will go a different week!! Home from MK now, heading to BB to cool down! Have a great day!!

Elizabeth - loved your Yachtsman pictures too and since we are staying there in Dec. I think I can talk dh into going there instead of schlepping somewhere else in the probable cold for a dinner adr.

Where are you eating tonight? You were brave to do the slides. I always just stuck to the lazy rivers at the water parks.

When dh got his ap this time, we said no water parks.

Hows your ds rash?

I suck at judging crowd levels. I didn't think it was too bad today. The FP return time on everything was only 35 minutes later, so that wasn't too bad at all. We walked in to Liberty Tree for lunch at noon - no ADR - and we waited less than 2 minutes for a table.

Yachtsman was good, and OF COURSE Ricardo was our server. We won't go if he's not working. :)

Tonight is Cali Grill. I hope it is good.

We would have added water parks to our APs IF we were getting more than one trip out of them.

Maryann, DS's face looks better. I used that special sunscreen on him this morning, and last night we used one of DH's T-shirts to put over DS's pillow in case the rash has something to do with the pillowcases.
