Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen June 3-18 (MORE PICS ADDED 6/25!)

I might need a new ringtone for the trip. I have "Paparazzi" on my phone now, but I might need something new. Of course my phone is impossible to hear, even though I keep it set to "Outdoor". Theoretically that should be blasting loud, but it isn't.

DH's phone has Star Wars/Darth Vader music on it. Which it has had for as long as I can remember. But he likes it, so whatever.

Perhaps I need to go to the Pirates League for a Mermaid Makeover! OK, not really. That sparkly, shiny eye shadow would be VERY unattractive settled in all the wrinkles around my eyes. :scared:

Despite being a Theatre kid, DS despises any sort of make-up or face paint so it's a safe bet I won't be talking him into a visit to the Pirates League, either. Oh, well. :rolleyes1

SEVENTEEN days 'til departure!

12 school days
11 working days

Tonight is the screening for the video race! I am eager to see what the other teams came up with.

I REALLY need to decide about PhotoPass. Actually, I should just order the thing and be done with it.

I saw a shirt at the mall last week that I might need. I am going to take another look at it today. ;)

17 days!! Wow. We're at 22 days. I can't wait to get into the 'teens. :)

I hear so much about photopass but we rarely take advantage of it. I should probably try to this time around. Maybe we'll actually get some family shots... Of course the biggest issue is having to take the kids out of the stroller, pose, and then put them back in. Too much effort for a pic... lol

I have a "thing" about doing my spreadsheet by hand. No computer print-outs. I have a certain way I draw out the days, list the park we'll go to, the hours, the crowds levels, the ADRs for the day, and any special events. Of course things get added and scratched out as time goes by. I sat today and made a new sheet with all of our updated plans, so that's done.
I do mine by hand too! I have no idea why, it just feels better. :goodvibes

LOL I have the r2d2 driod and it sounds like r2 when it rings.

The PhotoPass dudes use the exact same camera as DH, but not all of them are very good at it. We get home with plenty of family photos. Photos that are off center, blurry, overexposed, everybody is squinting, there is some random person that can't be cropped out, there is a post, a bush, or some other object that appears to be protruding from someone's head...
I am basically paying $100 for a disc full of mediocre-at-best photos with a couple of good ones thrown in. But what if I DON'T buy the CD and we get good pics? Better to pre-order then cancel than not order.

In honor of Gay Days, my phone now rings "Born This Way". ;)

It's definitely time to pack. I bought 2 more shirts at the mall today. The only way I will stop buying stuff is if I get everything packed. Then I won't want to mess with the luggage, so I will leave it alone. ;)

Your packing!!!! I am so Jealous! I love the runway comment about your suitcases. My phone ring for my son is "Paparazzi". I put that ring to him when he bought these ridiculously huge glasses!

Now does it feel like your days are flying by?

So how did the your son fair in his race? What were the other entries about? My daughter was in a play on Monday and I was glad that she felt better with her braces. She did really well. I thought she might be mush mouthy but she wasn't. She had a monolouge so I was worried.

I do my spreadsheet by hand and when it is kind of "finalized", I type it on the computer.

Bummer about the watch warranty! Sigh! I still like the father's day present Idea

They are screening the videos over the next 3 nights, then they will announce the finalists for Monday. I think they may have disqualified themselves, though. :guilty: The "theme" had to be "A Day to Remember". If that had to be their TITLE then they are out. And I didn't even think about that until last night. I didn't tell DS. Especially since I am not SURE they had to use that for the title.

The days are not flying, unfortunately.

Yay for your DD! I am glad she is doing better with the braces! :goodvibes

I would like for DH to have a new watch, but he JUST called me and said he wants a camera lens and it will count for Father's Day. Hmm.

16 days 'til departure!

11 school days
10 working days :goodvibes

The video screening was fun! DS's team did not advance to the finals, but the kids really did have a great time!

I forgot to ask DH if he got his lens all squared away. We'll assume he did. I am sure it will be here in time for the trip, so that should please him.

I didn't realize I need my PhotoPass password to pre-order the CD. I know I have a password around here somewhere. But really, maybe "forgot password" is the way to go. Unless I wrote it in my planning notebook.

Instead of a passport, a DMV ID card might be the way to go, if he isn't getting a driver's license right away.

You know, I thought about that but I decided the only reason I wanted it was for this trip. Beyond that, he doesn't need a photo ID. Around here he can use his student ID for stuff.
By the time he NEEDS a gov't issued ID for something he'll have a license/permit. I also couldn't sort out a good time to go sit at the DMV.

My son got a state id because he takes the bus everywhere but needed a formal id for different things. It was fairly easy for him to get. But we did wait a while.:headache:

How goes the packing?

Candy, Haven't started packing yet. ;) I will probably pack Saturday. Sunday we have a show to attend ("Cabaret", which DS has already seen but we got free tickets) and then he has a party to go to that evening. I am off Friday, so I might start packing then.

There is a passport "card" that DS can use for Mexico, Canada, and some of the Caribbean islands so we might eventually get him one of those, just to have. One of the other reasons I didn't pursue it was because I wasn't sure what documentation he needed. I HAD his birth certificate and SS card when we registered him for school last year, but they didn't make it back to the safe so I had to dig for them.

15 days 'til departure!! :yay:

10 school days!
9 working days!

Just to keep things interesting, I have an eyelid issue. :headache: I will be calling the Dr. today and BEGGING for antibiotics. This swollen eyelid thing is a recurring theme for me. It takes FOREVER for my eye to look normal again, so now I am REALLY conflicted about PhotoPass. And I am REALLY glad I bought new sunglasses. :cool2:

I said 8 weeks ago I was going to lose weight before the trip. I am here to tell you, I have lost THREE pounds! Yes. THREE! Three pounds in only EIGHT weeks! I am a weight loss dynamo. ;) I prefer not to consider how much I could have lost if I had given up wine, desserts, and fast food. Oh, and of course I don't exercise, so I won't ponder what difference that would have made. :rolleyes1

OK. We'll see how long it takes to actually get this prescription. Will my eyelid be discolored and puffy all the way from lashline to brow bone before they text me to pick it up? Yes, it's possible! Pharmacy is supposed to fax the Dr's office, Dr's office will fax back an authorization, pharmacy will fill the script and text me. Eventually. :rolleyes2

The eye Dr. called and said DS's contacts are in, so I need to go get those.

You poor thing!!!!You can always depend on your doctors and pharmacists! NOOOOOOOOOTTT! I am a pain in their rears. I call constantly until they have it. You can always wear your sunglasses:cool2: or wear a patch and blend in as a pirate:!!! I personally think you can rock the patch!!!!

Candy, if the doxycycline fails I may need a patch!

The Dr's office didn't even turn their phones on until 10 AM. :headache: But Sam's texted me at 1 PM that it was ready, so a 3 hour turnaround is pretty good! :thumbsup2 DH picked up the med and delivered it to me at work, so I have had my first dose. Back when I had surgery on this SAME EYE the eye Dr. had me on doxycycline for a month. I didn't have problems for like a year after that. This is only a week's worth, but hopefully it will help. It increases sun sensitivity so I would prefer NOT to be taking it at WDW. I usually end up with a rash across my chest even if I stay out of the sun. But I would rather have a rash than a gimpy eye! ;)

TWO WEEKS until departure!!!

14 days!
9 school days!!
8 working days!!

My eyelid is a hot mess. It is WAY worse than it was yesterday, but this is how it tends to go. :sad2:

I completely forgot to go get DS's contacts. I have a hair appt. today so I will have to remember to get them on my way to the salon.

I am glad the school year is almost over. DS is having some drama with a couple of his friends and it needs to stop. Unfortunately, he has a lot of important stuff left to cover before school is out and I am worried that this petty nonsense will distract him. :headache: Of course the closer we get to the trip, the more situations of insane idiocy will manifest.
