Don't answer the phone, it's her AGAIN!!

Here's what we've got on our ADRs and I'm needing help w/ the 9/5, please!

9/2 Kona dinner
9/3 O'hana dinner
9/4 Chef Mickey's dinner
9/5 Whispering Canyon breakfast
9/6 Crystal Palace dinner
9/7 Coral Reef dinner

Ok, here's the problem. 9/5 is AK's evening EMH's. My plan is to sleep in and enjoy the pool then head over to AK later in the day and stay for EMHs. I really don't want to get up early hitch a ride to MK then catch a boat to WL that early in the morning. I had thought about Donald's @ AK but again, I'd rather stick around the resort and just have breakfast there. So what's your thoughts on lunch at Cap'n Jacks in DTD? Or do you have ANY suggestions? We're not going to park hop because we've got a plan now and there's no need for the hoppers. Where can we get a great lunch that? We'll probably eat dinner at AK at it will be a CS, Flametree is my guess on that. Please somebody help! :)
Flame tree is good for lunch. I think Tuskar House is shutting down for renovations. I had booked Donald's Bfast and cancelled it last year based on the poor reviews it received on allears. Does CB have a table service there? If not, maybe you could do Boma at AKL for lunch. I hear that is really really good, and you would get to check out AKL. I think it will be too much bussing to go to WL from CBR. If you do AKL, you can just take the bus to AK the go to AKL and still be near by. What do you think?

Ktink
if you are using ts credits why don't you try Shutters at Old Port Royale it used to be good and I have heard good things about it and best of all its at your resort :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

disneydad & nonsmom, Help me out on this. I thought I had read somewhere that Shutters doesn't open until 4 pm. And then on allearsnet Boma on has a menu for breakfast and dinner. :confused3 Is that right?

ktink, I don't know whether Boma is open for lunch (would be a good choice though). You could do a late breakfast at Boma and you would at least get to walk around AKL.

I know last year during free dining they opened some of the TS for lunch that were usually only open for dinner (like Chef Mickeys). Maybe they will open Boma for lunch. As you know (all too well), it never hurts to call and ask. :rotfl:

My DH wanted to try Wolfgang Puck's this year. He has a co-worker that just got back and said WGP was great. Unfortunately for him, he is not planning this trip and he really doesn't have a say in MY ADRs. Actually I did at least tell him where we are eating (like he cares:rotfl2:). And I was nice enough to plan dinner our first night at the Beirgarten so he can endulge in the large steins of beer:cool1:. Actually, I think the kids will really enjoy dancing during the entertainment.

Or you could do 2 CS meals that day and add a character breakfast to one of your other days. Just a thought. Keep us posted, we are all on pins and needles awaiting your decision.:rotfl2:

As I was looking at your ADRs, you could do the princess breakfast at Epcot on the 7th. That is if your ADR for CR is at dinner. Oh my, you didn't tell us the times of all your ADRs.:rotfl: Of course, this would be plan if you decided to do the 2 CS meals on the 5th.

Yes, you are right. Sorry about that. How about Rainforest Cafe at AK. The kids usually love that place and they seem to have a really good selection. All I will say is that you will probably waste a lot of time going to DTD then back to the CBR then to AK. If you want to shop, that is a different story. Then, I would do DTD. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks prejean princess & nonsmom! Yall have given me some wonderful ideas now I just have to decide what to do. I asked DH what he wanted to do but of course he says that is my decision, as if I'd listen anyway. :goodvibes

I hope everything is going well for everyone in the trip planning stages. It is so fun to plan but then I can always find something to tweek. :rolleyes1

ok so I am an idiot :scared: shutters is only open for Dinner, you could try WGP's we love it!!! but again you would have to go to DTD
sorry

Well I came into work today and noticed that my debit card has been credited for the difference of WL and CBR. That only prompted me to go to Disney's website and I started toying and found that for less than $10 more we could stay at All Star Music and add on an extra day AND park hoppers AND water park option. At CBR we only have base tickets and 6 nights. Should I take the bait?:confused3

I haven't stayed at CBR, but I hear it is nice, only huge. If you get in the "wrong" area, you will need a shuttle bus to get to food. Too much trouble for me with DS5 and DS2. See below, I have done one of each hotel level. I am at the point now, where I would probably do all or nothing. Meaning WL or ASMU. ASMU has a great food court, and the pool is cute, with the character statues. The AS resort has the shorter commute to the parks. I think it is more or less centrally located. Bus service was always great when we were there. When I stayed at POFQ, it felt like we were on the bus for so long going everywhere, thus WL for us this year. But honestly, I am not sure that the extra $$ is worth it for the mod.

Okay Ktink,

This is what I really think. I think you should ask yourself what is really important to both you and your family, if you can stay longer, or where you stay. My children would sleep in a tent if it meant staying longer at Disney I, on the other hand, am not so good with a tent. Having said that, I would stay at All Star Music in a heartbeat if it meant staying longer. If it is about the amenities, stay moderate. Remember, you do have the water park visits that will give you the water slides the kids may miss, other than that, a dip in the pool when it is hot is a dip in the pool. In the past you have mentioned being together with the family as very important and remember, you only have a short period of time when your children are young enough to experience the magic with you. As they get older, they may want to go off on their own. I say go for the longer trip at the fun resort.

Also, are you really going to go park hopping? With the extra day and the water park fun and more, AND visiting other resorts and the PPP, you can save a bit more by not hopping. Perhaps you can add two more days!!! .

Thanks nonsmom and stepdisney!

stepdisney, honestly the park hopping isn't that big of a deal but it would open up a few more dining options and we'd be able to see Spectromagic more than once. I really would like to add the extra night and have all the extra options versus being limited just due to having a little nicer place to stay.

I talked to DH and he wanted to stay at CBR but when I told him all the extra we would be getting then he said he'd rather do that. I don't know why I'm being so indecisive. To be honest I really thought that it would cost more money to add all of the options and the extra night and when the price came up to $1848 and we're paying $1838 I about passed out. :)

Well I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that there were no values available for an extra night so we weren't able to take advantage of that w/ the water parks option.

The good news is that POFQ opened up and that is where the DDs have wanted to stay and as I had mentioned there were no preferred rooms at CBR open so we switched to POFQ and were able to add an extra night! So now I'm going to have to pay Disney back a small portion of my refund. We could've added on the water park option but I'd rather have the extra night and then I'm excited to have gotten FQ. Chloe will be so excited, she's my 6 year old and she loves the water slide there. I will enjoy the smaller size of the resort.

Good for you! I think it is a much more manageable size for small kids. We liked it, DS's loved the pool. Also, we stayed in building 5 which was right next to the pool. If you want to be right next to the food and bus, request building 4. Here is a link on POFQ that has a map of the resort. You have to page down a little to see it. IMO, the map makes the resort look bigger than it is. Everything is really close.

Try the bengiettes (sp??) they are awsome. You can get 6 and use only one snack credit.

Thanks you for the info! :flower3: I'm very excited about adding the extra night on and getting FQ for the kids! :woohoo: Now I just have to decide where to eat the last night. But this does help out w/ my question I had yesterday about where to eat on our AK day. We could go to DTD and enjoy the ferry or what about Boatwright's over at Riverside? Is it open at lunch?

I just checked allears and it just has a bfast and dinner menu. The boat to DTD is really slow from there, so if you are going plan enough time to get there and return, then get to AK. P.S. I read before we left last year, that Boatwrights didn't get such great reviews. We just didn't have time to check out the other resort. We did see it everyday as the bus picks up first at POFQ (which means you always get a seat) and then circles all of POR (4 stops) then goes to the parks. My friend stayed there last Feb., she liked it but said it was too big. This year she is staying at POFQ.

Did you check out the menu for Rainforest Cafe at AK?

POFQ looks divine. I went to the thread and they had beautiful pictures. I think you are going to love this resort. If you still want to try ASMu, just keep calling back. You'll be happy knowing that even if you don't get it, you're staying at POFQ.

You're going to have a ball no matter where you stay :thumbsup2 .

nonsmom, thanks for the link. Now is RFC on DDP? We have a RFC here in a nearby mall and I love it!

stepdisney, I really think we'll enjoy POFQ too! The pictures do look nice and I would rather stay at a moderate but I hated it that Disney had just credited my account and then I turned around and owed them a portion of that. I was really trying to just break even w/ them as best I could. I know they're ready to ring my neck. So how is everything going on your end? I really do think you will love WL and it is such a beautiful resort.
