Don't answer the phone, it's her AGAIN!!

Well I came into work today and noticed that my debit card has been credited for the difference of WL and CBR. That only prompted me to go to Disney's website and I started toying and found that for less than $10 more we could stay at All Star Music and add on an extra day AND park hoppers AND water park option. At CBR we only have base tickets and 6 nights. Should I take the bait?:confused3

OMG I am gone for 2 days & you are changing resorts....do I smell chchchchanges!!:cool1: :cool1:

well I just finished catching up & I see you Have & it is to POFQ not ASMu great choice we love PO & the pools

:rolleyes1 Guilty but this is the last time. :rolleyes1

BTW, I'm anxiously awaiting your next installment on your pre trip.

I hate to admit this but.... I was over on the resort boards and have yall seen all of the great WL posts? I'm now wishing I had left it alone. But I do admit that the theme at FQ really looks great and fun. I guess that's part of the reason why I wasn't really feeling WL. I was looking forward to staying deluxe and the newer rooms at WL. I was also reading some posts that prejean princess had talked about how great WL is. DH told me to do what I want but to be honest I'm sick of second guessing myself.

We do have the extra night and the water park option w/ FQ but I'm a little concerned about the night of 9/8. Night of Joy always brings in a good sized crowd and that was why we ditched that night to begin with. I don't think it is summer crowded by any means but the first year we were there the lines went from walk on to Dumbo and Peter Pan being 45 minute waits. We may ditch that night or just stick around the resort.

prejean princess, I read one of your questions from the thread about the great stay at WL. What are you thinking?

I guess my main concern is should I go ahead and stay deluxe or is it really that big of a deal? Yall I really hate having to ask all of these questions and all but my family has cut me off of the Disney talk. I would just like to make up my mind.

I've decided that I'm not going down that road again. DDs came inside from swimming and they are really looking forward to FQ. I do think the theme at FQ looks like so much fun my only problem is that I wanted a deluxe eperience this time but I can always do that another time.

So I didn't realize that you get 6 entries w/ a 7 day ticket for the water park & more option. That really does make it worth while. We haven't done the water parks since 2004 and that was one of the old packages that had the hoppers and all included. I think we only had 2 days at the water parks on an 11 day ticket.

WOW I have been a while for a little bit and there have been plenty of changes! I think you are going to really like POFQ or wherever you stay! Good luck with the plans and don't drive yourself crazy with it all...you are going to have a great time no matter where you stay!!!!

We added the water parks package which leaves us no time to hop. We will, of course, hop from water park to theme park a couple of days. I did plan two complete water park days and a Disney quest. That leaves us three days to use at our leisure. Repeat after me... I can read a post (Your turn) About another resort (your turn again) and not change my resort. (your turn again).
I think that although you are not booked at a Deluxe resort, you have planned a super deluxe vacation complete with PPP, water parks and more! I think if you do upgrade and cancel the water parks, you may feel obligated to hang out at the resort when your children really want to play. I know that I feel an obligation to use more resort amenities this time than I did the last time and I've built in resort time just like I believe I would be high-tailing it back for snacks and evening meals if I dished out extra for concierge. You sound more in love with FQ than you did WL. Relax and be happy.

Ktink.. you will love POFQ the resort is great & the pools are the best!! We have stayed @ all three levels of the Disney resorts (as you can see below) & we find the moderates to be our favorites Like some others have said we fell obligated to hang out more at the resort when we go deluxe. Your kids will not know the difference between the deluxe & the moderate.. heck our kids wanted to stay at POP this year but we could not get 2 connecting rooms so we are back @ POR. In fact we would be @ POFQ if they allowed 5 in a room.

Now I say that...but if you are ever going with just DH & want to go luxurious then Deluxe is the ticket!!!

I really don't know what my deal is but you're right we will have a wonderful time.

stepdisney, I repeated after you. :rotfl: And I really do feel better about it all now. Like I said FQ really is what I'm looking for but I was hoping for a little more pampering this time. Fact of the matter is that we'll be at the parks and won't have much of an oppurtunity for pampering.

Yall are all right and I'm not going to sweat it anymore. :rolleyes1 The funny thing is that our DDs wanted to stay at Pop this year too. But we wanted to try something new. I really am glad that you're a fan of PORS and FQ. I looked over at the POFQ FAQ's thread and there are some great pics over there.

DH says to keep the extra night and if the parks get too bad on the last Saturday then we'll just kick back at the pool. That sounds pretty good to me.

NO MORE DRAMA out of me! :headache:

Okay, I have to say that for a moment I almost waivered, but I stayed strong and held my guns. We are at AKL. I looked on the website and VWL had a 2 bedroom open up and that was the decision I was toying with....AKL or VWL-2 bedroom. We decided that with VWL (while I am sure it is wonderful and I hope to try it some day), we wanted a resort feel and not the condo, other building type feel (please don't flame me for this). The space at BWV-2 bedroom last year was unbelievable. But I was at a different place last year too. You see, one of my 5 year olds has Type 1 diabetes and he was on a strict 45 carbohydrates per meal diet, so it was important for me to cook a full breakfast for him. He was taking 3-4 shots of insulin a day and having the extra space and the washer/dryer was great b/c of accidents he would have during the day due to stress and his blood sugar being so high. This year is a little different, at least we hope, my son was just put on an insulin pump last week. Also, our carbo. intake is much more flexible now too. I am hoping to be a pro at this come Sept. So far, I am not feeling too confident. But, I am still checking blood sugars every 2-4 hours 24 hours a day, I'll get the hang of this thing. Anyway, that was the main reason for considering a switch. Also, the main reason not to switch is that dd6, Demi, would like to have servants back, and they don't have servants at the villas - oh goodness what shall I do??????? Remember, Demi is the one that thinks turn-down service and the chocolates on her pillow are provided by servants. Where does this kid get this stuff? I swear it's not me, I have 4 kids are you kidding???? :rotfl2: Anyway, you will love POFQ, I hope you have a magical trip.

And BTW, we arrived on the Night of Joy night last year and went to Epcot, we did not see lots of crowds there.

I second what stepdisney said,

Repeat after me... I can read a post (Your turn) About another resort (your turn again) and not change my resort. (your turn again). :rotfl2:

Well I go on vacation to visit family in KS for a week and while I am gone I see that everything has changed and nothing has changed at all. :lmao: :confused3 :rotfl2: Just as expected! The more things change the more they stay the same.

I'm not sure that ktink is done changing yet,:thumbsup2 , but as I have said before I know you will have a great time no matter where you end up. So as question I want to know which resort you are considering moving back to today? Be honest, I know you are still thinking about one, but I am just not sure which.

PreJeanPrincess, good luck on your considerations, so many things to think about I am sure the choice is tough. But hey, either way it is disney so it will be good.

Well I am just excited to back in the mix. :yay: After reading seven pages on this thread this morning I am all confused. Maybe in a day or two I will get all straightened out again.

prejean princess, That really is alot to take into consideration. Diabetes is a tough disease, my mom has it, I can't imagine what it's like for a child. I will keep yall in my prayers.

I have to say I agree with your DD, I wouldn't mind the servants. ;)

space ranger, I'm sorryfor the confusion. But you're right about me thinking about changing.. I called today to check on WL but they only had CL rooms. But I'm glad that they didn't have anything because DH would kill me if I changed. And again, POFQ really looks like fun. I do get that "feel good" feeling when I look at the pics. I'm just like prejean's DD I want the turndown service. ;)

I love your pre-trippie. Your family is gorgeous!! We will be staying at POR nxt year, and I cannot wait!! I am sure you made the right choice with POR. I hear so many great things about the resort!!:thumbsup2

I don't think DH would be too mad, I bet by now he knows that is just part of your personality. He may not understand it, but hey he loves you and takes you just as you are!

We thought POFQ looked nice too. One of the many we really liked the looks of and considered changing to before FD came out. When we were booked at CBR I was really thinking about changing because it just seemed so big that you might walk all day just to get out. Some like POFQ seemed a lot more appealing to us for a mod.

Good luck on your current or next resort change, we will be watching and waiting for updates. I think I have gotten out of the loop on so many threads that I don't know whats going on any more. Maybe I will get caught up this week and figure out which threads I am missing out on.

I just had lunch w/ DH and the girls. I'm not sure that you will believe this but... I really don't know what's going on w/ me and Disney this year. I don't know if I started planning too early or what. I just bought a passporter over the weekend. But anyway I talked to everyone about what they wanted to do. DH would love to go to the beach and so would DD 6. I at this point think I would rather go to the beach. I'm not going to cancel yet as I don't want to miss out on free dining. But we all talked and I don't know if it's all of the stress we've been under w/ my aunt having cancer or what but we all want to get away and just relax.

Another problem is that I spoke w/ the principal of DDs new school. She will be going to a Middle School this year and there strict on the kids missing school. He said that it can be approved but it's tolerated more at the elementary schools as the middle school is preparing for high school.

If I decide to cancel and anyone is looking for some very discounted PPP tickets PM me and we'll work it out.

More tough decisions, thats no fun!!!! :confused3

I never know what to think about schools harassing people so much about pulling their kids out. It is true that they have to educate them and they need to me there the largest majority of the time to do that effectively, but there is more to life than school. So much happens in life and opportunities are ever changing and sometimes it should be okay to get away. How to balance that out fairly for the teachers, kids and education I just don't know. Some administrators even act more like they own your kids than they act like public servants working with you to educate them, how frustrating!

I guess fortunately we home school our kids and have more flexibility with our schedule. I think most days my wife works a lot harder at that than I do at "work". But it has been good overall, the kids have been excelling at their studies... but I wander far off topic...

When we lived in Franklin we went down to the beach at least every other year. Various places, but frequently near Panama City or St George Island if my memory serves me well (that was over 20 years ago).

Be strong, plan a great vacation, have a great time. :goodvibes And don't worry, be happy :rolleyes1 .

OMG I just caught up from the weekend and the queen of changes is thinking about going to the beach & not Disney..... I can tell you that my choice would be Disney but that's just me!!!

I can not understand the school systems thinking they have ownership of children when the Law is so clear as to # of days a child is required to attend & I know in our state it is nowhere near the # of day's scheduled ... I understand that all states follow federal regs so I would assume it would work that way in your state...but like space ranger we home school so we don't have to face those decisions!!!

I say don't worry to much & maybe set back & think awhile before making a decision & I would not let any school influence my decision :scared1:

Oh Ktink. This post makes me feel sad :sad1: Don't stress please. Look around you and count your blessings! No matter where ya go, you'll be with the ones you love. Fortunately, you have a little bit of buffer before you HAVE to make a decision. When do your girls go back to school and how much time will they actually be missing? Fortunately, we go back a the Thursday after Labor Day and even that is a 1/2 day. The kids will only miss 1 1/2 days. In 2005, my DS missed three days but we were fortunate enough to book during school religious holidays. I am a certified teacher (stay-at-home mom at the moment) and I sort of understand but you know your children better than anyone. If school has already started by the time you plan to go to Disney, bring the books with you and do a little home schooling by the pool or in the lobby or lounge, or on the beach at Poly (what a beautiful backdrop the castle would be). I do understand about you aunt and at the same time I want to say you want to live your life and enjoy it. The beach is nice but are you going to wish you were at Disney the whole time? Whatever the decision, try not to stress. Vacations are blessings not requirements, enjoy having one :cloud9: .

I am sending you a PM.
