I'd take the WL over AKL any day of the week

We've stayed at both and AKL just doesn't do much for me. Now my DS loves AKL but with your adults only trip I'd definitley take the WL over AKL

Thank you, thank you, thank you! For posting this. We will actually be staying at WL for the family trip. We're still undecided on the adult trip, imagine that.

We just watched the planning DVD again. DH and I are the only ones here tonight and I asked him to interrupt his regularly scheduled program for a moment. Anyway we watched AKL and WL. For once I felt really into WL even more so than AKL. DH told me that he likes the looks of WL alot better he says that as it showed a mounted deer on the wall. But the boat ride is what pulled him in hook, line, and sinker. So now that I'm seeing some excitement in DH I feel like I can take a deep breath and just be happy. I know there will come a time when we will stay at AKL and perhaps the Polynesian, that is if I can ever fully prepare to pay rack rates.

Poly is my fave too but we're not staying there. With two trips we'll have to do AKL or WL but that is still ok.

I am lost. For some reason I thought I read the Poly. Anyway I really like both the WL and the AKL.

Hang in there, something will open up! The Jambo wild bunch... well all that happened was one day the Tag Fairy went wild, it was about a year or so ago. So I'm not sure how to help you out on that one. One of those fluke Tag Fairy things.

Do this resort, no change to that resort, maybe a split stay, no just one resort, lets add a day, OHHHHH I think my head might explode.

But a few voices in your head are okay , but if they start telling you to cancel your trip then you need to seek medical attention immediately, because thats just not right.

I'll have to be honest, I really want to stay at AKL so badly. The Polynesian would be awesome but I can't justify paying rack rates. I knew when I booked it that I was going to have a hard time paying that. But AKL and WL are so affordable so I don't mind that at all.

DH told me he is really looking forward to WL but I really want AKL. It doesn't matter what I want it's a matter of what I'm able to book. He did say that if I could get AKL for Sept that would be fine. I think WL in Feb would be better. I read all of these awesome reviews on WL and think what am I missing? Don't get me wrong it's gorgeous and I do want to stay there, I would just rather stay at AKL first. I will be excited regardless of where we stay. I don't understand why I'm putting such emphasis on the resort.

I've just been trying to ignore the voices in my head. Long before FD was announced we had booked CBR after looking at all sorts of moderates and debating back and forth. Then we got free dining and decided we should look around some more, just maybe we could find a way to spend that "extra money". So we decided to upgrade and kept going back and forth between AKL and WL. Could not get what we wanted (right away) at WL, so finally decided on AKL, and were very pleased.

But the saga continues and it became obvious that early on in the FD that there were a lot of rooms booked and later dropped. Then those voices started talking again , what about switching here or there. Have you considered this option or that. Ahhhhh, tell them to stop.

I finally decided several things: 1- my kids, especially dd5 would love the animals and 2- I could live out my resort changing dreams vicariously. So up to the plate comes ktink and I don't have to worry a thing about changing, I can just follow you. It has been a great life saver; I can see all the changes, frustration, success and torment all without doing a thing to my own reservation. So I applaud you for allowing myself (and others I am sure) to live the life of a resort changer without doing a thing.

I still hear the voices every now and then, but I just keep thinking AKL will be great and maybe we will try WL some other time. I am actually more tourcured by the thought of how often will we go back and maybe we should think about DVC. But that is a totally different topic.

spaceranger, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has these thoughts and voices. It's very frustrating to know that I was booked at AKL and then lost it on more than one occasion. As you said there are alot of highs and lows in this resort changing saga, I hope not to choose this path again.

I'm all to familiar w/ the DVC voices too.

I'm still sticking with WL. I know I have stayed there before and I loved it so, give it a try, you probably will too. I know that I read it has the most repeat visitors of any hotel. I guess there is something to say for that.

Girlfriend, don't do the change. You will love it! As I told you, it is not my style hotel or so I thought originally, and I just booked it because it was the lowest $$ deluxe near MK. I was wrong, I am hooked! I think you are just afraid that you will love it too and won't want to go to another hotel

Well I'm acting like a spoiled brat now. I don't want to pay for the Polynesian and DH keeps telling me to just stay there. I've always wanted to but the reality is it's $330 plus tax per night. That is ridiculous. So it's marked off of my list. And AKL is still booked and it is the only resort that I want to stay at. The price isn't bad and it still has the theme that I can appreciate.

I've tried my hardest to learn to love WL but the fact of the matter is we go to the mountains every year and I want something different. I know it's fabulous and I know it's beautiful and it's deluxe but... I'm not feeling it. I'm seriously thinking of going w/ CBR. I know it's not a deluxe but it does appeal to me as far as the theme. I really wanted to go deluxe this time but I don't think I'll be thrilled w/ WL.

Thank you! DH just called to see how my day was going. While he was on the phone he mentioned that he was glad we had decided to stay at WL. He went on to say how nice it will be to ride the boat over at night and see the bear's face. He was really excited. And hearing his excitement made me happy. He really has humored me with talking a little about all the resorts and their features. But I guess I was just missing the family being excited but then how could they when I've been so wishy washy.

Anyway I will loose this bad attitude that I have because it all boils down to we'll be at Disney! WL is beautiful and I've wanted to stay there in the past. The family is finally excited and that truly makes me happy.

I never thought I would stay there either cause the woodsy thing didnt appeal to me either..I spend my summer in WI with a bunch of trees.....lol..However.....WL is not my WI campground and its not your mountains It will be totally different and I cant wait to hear how much you love it when you get back.....unless you squeeze one more switcheroo in to CBR!!!!
