DONE 7/28!! My Life on the DVC Blacklist - an August '09 Pre-Trip.

So, for a large span of time, food was not something I actively sought at Disney. Rather, it was something one suffered so as not to have to leave the parks. Such was the prevalent understanding in the greater Central-West Florida region, too.

That's what I remember from my numerous childhood trips to DL, too.

“What about that place – you know – with the scary monster movies and car-tables?”

Seriously – Sci Fi? “But you said it was ‘too scary’ before…”

“Are my Disney friends going there?”

Ah, ha! :lmao:
I never got a good answer as to why, but Leo most certainly does not want to eat at San Angel. Could there be a lingering memory of someone busting out with “Please just be quiet and let Mommy drink her big, fat margarita!” at play here? Who knows.

:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

And for another... well, Gramma's coming. That's always good for a few laughs, right?! ;)

Yes, please! :goodvibes

Hi V-

Just popping in and catching up. Glad you got all your ADRs. Our approach was a little different. Each family member got to pick one TS choice during the trip. We'll wing the rest with counter service and meals we prep at room.

OH my you all are such Disney Foodee's I never even heard of half of those places until this year, I thought it was counter service or character meals :headache:*DOH*
So this year I have a bunch of new places to consider thanks ya'll!

V can't wait to hear about your getaway with Gramma!
I hope it doesn't rain :(

V, I would've loved to hear those conversations with Leo about where to eat!! :rotfl: I was laughing just reading about them! :rotfl2: It was a nice thought to ask him! :rotfl: Of course it's always good for a few laughs with Gramma! Please just give us a small sampling from the weekend.

You are so entertaining as usual..I love your updates:rotfl:

That is nice Leo helped you with dining choices:goodvibes

will be interested to hear about your weekend adventure :surfweb:

Are you really set with ADR's???

C'mon, you know there are some changes coming.

I too like the food at GG, I do wish they offered a lunch there minus the characters. Just a warning on Coral Reef, last time I ate there it was ok, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as I remembered it to be.

Crossing fingers, toes and paws here for a sunny weekend at the Poly!

Okay, I gave in and joined Twitter and I'll see what I can do with it this weekend. Find me here: twitter.com/Disney_VLo

It remains to be seen whether I can keep track of Leo, Gramma, the Good Camera, The Plan (which has gotten a lot more complicated since the monsoon has yet to abate), email, Facebook AND Twitter. But I'll do my best! :thumbsup2

Thanks for following me V, I've added you and I'm sure there will be lots of great tweets in the next few days :rotfl:

Your conversation with Leo about ADRs cracks me up! He's just too cute! I can't wait to hear where you selected for your special meal.

Hope you have a great weekend- despite the monsoon! Somehow I'm certain you'll come back with at least a few tales to tell. :) And I can't wait!

Hi V - I hope you have a fantastic weekend - and the rain stays at bay! I'll look forward to hearing all about it! I'm going to try figure out Twitter so I can follow popcorn::. I feel your pain about the ADRs, I'm currently in ADR he**. :scared: Will I get what I want? Is it the right choice for that day? Will I feel like eating that when I get there. Blah blah blah. Have a great time!

So glad Leo got a say in where you will be eating. Wouldn't you just love to know the rationale behind some of their opinions?! Not in the pyramid?!:confused3
Seriously! And this whole past weekend was like that, too. :confused3

OMG V you and Leo are just hilarious together :rotfl: I'm so pleased you got all your ADR's whatever they may be :lmao:
Thanks - I think they'll be good choices. :thumbsup2

Ick, right? It's hard to move past.

Hi Mr. T! We wing our CS mostly, too. We have some favorite spots, but it's mostly based on what's closest.

I'm glad you got all your ADRs (or did you? lol).
:rolleyes1 Yes, but not without some drama later! I literally can't say for certain until we get there. (cue ominous music)

Well, here's the thing - more than half the food there isn't worth going out of your way. But in summer, I like the air conditioned break of TS. There are some fun places to try, though!

V, I would've loved to hear those conversations with Leo about where to eat!!
He really is hugely entertaining to me!

OMG, it was CRAZY!

Are you really set with ADR's???
::yes::
C'mon, you know there are some changes coming.
HIGHLY unlikely!
I too like the food at GG
Just wait... :rolleyes1

Hope you have a great weekend- despite the monsoon! Somehow I'm certain you'll come back with at least a few tales to tell. :) And I can't wait!
Oh yes, there are some tales to be told. ;)

Have a great weekend V! If only we could all be at WDW, rain or no rain! :thumbsup2
True enough - even with teh rain, it was a great getaway!

I feel your pain about the ADRs, I'm currently in ADR he**. :scared: Will I get what I want? Is it the right choice for that day? Will I feel like eating that when I get there. Blah blah blah. Have a great time!
Ugh, good luck.

I'm back! It was an insane but hugely fun weekend at The World :yay: I'll hvae a ton of photos to post soon-ish; the Good Camera was a pain in the rear to drag along, but so worth the shots I got. :thumbsup2

If you dared follow along as I Twittered my way through Disney... my apologies. :lmao: No, thank you for hanging in there while I figured it out and rambled on each day. It was fun!

If you didn't follow along, here's a little of what you missed:

"An 'Interactive Eve' is about a thousand different kinds of wrong."

"Grossest restroom ever across from Test Track. Eewww."

"Toddler behind me is drinking Coke out of a baby bottle."

"Reached Nirvana in the middle of a Main Sr. Bakery cinnamon roll."

"'Ohana means family. It also means a crapload of meat."

"I can't be the only one who thinks "clamobile" sounds a little dirty - can I?"

"I think our server has a fake British accent. Do you know her Jo? ;)"

Yes, this really is how my mind wanders whilst at WDW.

Thanks for the re-Tweets... :rotfl: Sorry I didn't find my way to follow you as it was all unfolding in the World! If I'm not on FB yet, it's safe to say Twitter ain't gonna happen, either... but I still love you!!!:lovestruc Glad you had a great time! :yay: Can't wait to see the pictures! :goodvibes
