We are not planning on going to AK on our next trip. There are only a couple of rides my kids can go on, there is a lot of walking involved and it is always 10 degrees hotter there than any other park. However, I am thinking about getting an ADR for the breakfast at Tusker House, so my kids can see Daisy. We have APs, so getting into the park is not an issue. We would go for breakfast then head to one of the other parks

Is the breakfast there worth the trek?

TIA

We ate there last month and the food was good but I would not go out of my way to eat there unless I was going to AK for the day.

Agree with PP -- if you're gong to go to Tusker House (pretty good breakfast buffet, one of the few places where you can guarantee meeting Daisy), it should at least be in conjunction with spending a morning at AK.

Still, between Safari, FotLK, Nemo, and Triceratops Spin, filling up a morning shouldn't be too hard to do. And you should be leaving before the day gets too hot.

ok for kids they like the food. for us adults mkiss it.

Okay, maybe it's just popular with families of young children because it's one of our FAVORITE character meals. And I know lots of families who love Tusker House! We loved the selection of food offerings and had a great time with the characters. We thought the adult food was wonderful, very different that the other buffets. We enjoyed the carved ham, quiche, cheese blintz, oh and Krispy Cream glazed donuts!

We're not big fans of AK either, many trips we've skipped the park completely. Since we discovered this breakfast last Nov, everyone has agreed we have to return. We have a 9am ADR then plan a Safari ride, catch one of the shows then a brief trip to the conservation station then we're ready to leave. I think this trip we'll spend the afternoon at a water park since they're nearby.

The only thing that bugs me is the restaurant is located so far into the park that you have to allow plenty of travel time. :headache:

We LOVED this breakfast. The food was great, the coffee was excellent and the character interaction was great. I have two kids (1) and (3) and we spend most of the day in this park. We found lots to do here that included everyone. The walking tours, safari, triceratops spin, nemo, lion king, character spots, playground, conservation station, and eating of course!!!! This is a great park for little ones because there is lots of shade and lots of animals. We wouldn't miss it.

I think the breakfast is worth the trek. Ride those two rides that they like while you are there, too. That way the trip will definitely be worth it.

I prefer to take short trips into the parks. It's the best way to vacation. All-day marathons are not very relaxing. You could leave AK before noon, that's when the sun gets really hot.

While you are there, check out the playground at AK. They have huge fans running to cool things off, and it is absolutely amazing. My DD spent 6+ hours there. She did not want to leave. She only left because finally (thank goodness!), she became thirsty. And even after having something to drink, she wanted to go back. I was too wise for that, though! We went on Kali River Rapids and had so much fun.

For me, Animal Kingdom would be a perfect park for a short trip.

we too love Donalds breakfast....and we have been many times with just a group of adults.......
We enjoy going to the Lion King Show and a few of the rides......we never miss going on the safari because each time (we get a fastpass too) the animals may be out at different times...
hope you enjoy your visit

We really loved the food there - huge selection, great variety. The characters were very rushed and not very animated.

I think that I probably would not make the separate trek into the park (because it is pretty far into the park) just for the breakfast. Although we did like it, I (personally) couldn't justify the time and effort it would take to get there...I'm sure there are other options that won't take hours of your day just for breakfast.

It's one of our family favorites...we've not missed going yet! :thumbsup2 I would go, (and like others have mentioned...go early) and since you're already in the back of the park ride KS or whatever your kids do like there and then leave. That way it won't feel like a waste of a trip or that you're going out of your way to eat there.

We love that breakfast. It's SO much better than the old Restaurantosorus.

I like going early for EMH, go on the Safari a couple times then off to breakfast.:thumbsup2

It's our favorite breakfast and we are two adults who don't care whether or not we meet characters. We really like the food here.

It is awesome and the kids love the character interaction. They hand out special instruments and get to dance with the characters every so often (like 30mins)

Thanks for the help.

Actually, My DD told me this morning that she thinks the safari is boring, so maybe we will run in for breakfast and then head to another park.
