Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Teammates I don't know if everyone looks at the spreadsheet to see how we are doing compared to the other teams, track their mileage for the month or just to look and see when to post their amounts but I wanted to share with all of you the schedule for this month of July. Weekly posts will be made on Monday of every week as the weeks will go from 1-7, 8-14, 15-21 and 22-31. This way we can have a consistant monthly total with the other teams.

Also, as of right now, we have the #1 team in total distance. Everyone of you are doing so well putting the time and miles in and making sure that we post it. This month is the 6th month of the contest so we are more than half way to the finish line. 5 months to go so we don't need to let that lead slip away. If another team decides to get after it, we can loose our momentum. In honor and celebration of the 4th of July this weekend, let's finish this contest with a BIG BANG!!!

TRIPLE D'S ROCK!!!!! :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :worship: :cool1:

Oops, I forgot to post last weeks totals:

Running: 18.44 miles (includes double race miles) in 80:52
Weights: 140 Minutes
Other: 60 minutes

We post on Thursdays and will contine to do so.

Quick post from work: Last night rode my bike to the track for some speed work. 8 miles on the bike (4 miles each way) and 3.5 total miles on the track.

Mike "GG" B

Wanted to report for last week - 6/13-6/19

total 10.62 miles (6.12 was on bike)
total 101 mins (1 hr 41 mins)

Not much this week since I cut my toe and I think it might be getting infected - I really hope its not since I want to run a 5k race this weekend.

Didn't see the information above on the spreadsheet so I wanted to post it again. Also I have my info from last week but I am confused on how to report the last few days in June since I did a 5k race and want to get credit for the miles I did but wasn't sure if I should do post it along with last weeks info or include it with this weeks stuff.

Hey Team!

Welcome GGMike. I guess WWDave wants to make it as confusing as possible by putting a couple of Mikes on the same team.

I just wanted to post my miles from last week.

11.08 miles/87 minutes

Lousy, I know. Some weeks are just like that.

Congratulations, Ahoff! You were #1 on the team in total distance for the month of June! That is a pretty impressive way to start off.:woohoo:

Big Vic - I wasn't trying to step on any toes. Just passing on that info since not everyone looks at the spreadsheet. You're the captain. We will do it on Thursdays.

Way to go Augie!
You're going to make us all work harder!
Keep up the good work my friend!

Bryan-
suggestions on how to help us all are always
a good thing! Don't worry, Big Vic doesn't bite -
Pandas might, but pretty sure Big Vic is safe ;)

I'll protect you brother dear,
don't you worry lol :woohoo:

Optimator -
lol we do have the multiple Mike syndrome going!
Any hours are good hours -
so we  you
no matter how many miles/hours you put in!
We're all getting healthier and that's what counts!

:welcome: Mike (lol GG Mike)
We're glad to have you here on the DDD's!

Ok, so how's everyone else doing?
I've been super busy, but now have
"officially" started training for January.
I'm happy that I'll be running the 5k and 1/2
with my brother, but it looks like it'll be me
and that long lonesome highway for the full lol.
My friend Susan will be doing all 3 but she
does the Boston Marathon, so she runs waaaay
too fast for me. I also got Travelin'Tigger to do
the 5k too! I'm really excited for this years races!
I've got a studio at BCV, but wait listed for a 1bed at BWV.
Anybody on the DDD's going and where are you staying?

have a great day DDD's!
~Liz :hippie:

I'm late in posting again (or early, or maybe on time, since it is Thursday)?

But since the spreadsheet is counting the end of June as the 22-30, that's what this post covers. :goodvibes

I was travelling for work this week, and still dealing with a few residual issues from the ex-relationship, so not a good athlete...though I did have a good swim, and 2 long runs (long = not fast) and one shorter run.

Swim: 1.3 miles/:55
Run: 20.5/4:15

Total: 21.8 miles/5:10 hours

I promise to get in the swing of things the next few weeks...I'll be off work, and Ironman is coming up too fast! :thumbsup2

Hi Triple D's. We're back home from visiting grandkids in Calif., playing in Vegas, etc. Had a great time, but my workout schedule just didn't happen. I am ready to get back to work so next week's totals should be much better.

Week ending June 19:
270 minutes 6 miles

Week ending July 3:
4 miles 60 minutes Yes, I know...pretty pathetic, next week will be better.

Posting Wednesdays effort of 60 minutes of weights and core work. Nothing on Thursday but 1/2 hour of pushing a lawn mower because I am off to a 5K this morning. I will end up with at least 5 miles as I have at least 6 kids from the track team to get across the fin ish line before I can finish. Will report later today.

Have a great 4th everyone.

Mike "GG" B

Back from the 5k that ends up being 5 miles for me after making sure every one of our kids finished ahead of me (I have a standing rule that no team member finishes after a coach). It really is more fun than racing for me because I pull one child to the finish turn around and run back to the next team member and repeat until all have finished their 5K race (these are kids from 10 to 14-years-old). We had one of our guys take 3rd place in the 10 to 14 age group even though he ran a slow time (for him that is) because he was just out for a "fun" run with his teammates. Anyway, I got in 5.25 miles of running this morning.

Enjoy the day,

Mike "GG" B

Hey, I am new to the team and am starting to feel lonley here. Where has everyone gone? Out running and working out I bet.

Anyway, got out this morning and ran for 10.8 miles in 1:30 and got hit with a full blown cramp in the hamstring that knocked me to the ground at 10 miles. Man I have not experienced that type of pain in years. Finished with a limp and feel good about the overall run.

Good training,

Mike "GG" B

Hey, Mike!

You run way faster than me! :)
Way to go on getting the kids in for the 5K...I like that attitude about bringing them in! :)

I generally post weekly here, but can post more. I just have been away for work for the last couple of weeks, and had gotten all "into myself" for a while because I was having some personal issues...thankfully getting through all that. :)

So, today for me, I did a little more than 4 hours on the bike...probably 60 miles? I'll map it out and see. Had to start super early because it's so hot out. Which was tough because I was in Alaska last week and just got home yesterday morning. And also tough because I had 2 margaritas while celebrating the Fourth with friends yesterday evening. :rolleyes1

Cheers!

Mike - I don't post very often. Normally when I see someone has posted I'll check, and if they've provided their weekly totals I'll update the spreadsheet.

Betsy - How was Alaska? I tried to get stationed there when I was on active duty. The closest I got was Hawaii. :confused3 :)

Hi, Big Vic!! :goodvibes

I was in Ketchikan, and the weather was great all week! It's usually so rainy there. Got to love a run when you see over a dozen bald eagles...and one bear. :cool2: The bear was sort of far away, so not a threat.

I'm hoping to jump back into the weekly overall WISH page for next week, so I can get caught back up.

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone has had a great 4th weekend. I wanted to post my mileage for last week, Sunday thru today. Sorry, once again I did not get too run, and I have to get going on that, I am doing a 5k in a few weeks. But did some good miles on the bike, 170, and the time was 11.5 hours. Would have been more but had a flat on Monday right when I left home so drove to work that day.

Next week will be a little low, going campimg at a music festival in West Virginia from Thursday thru Sunday, so will miss four days.

Have a great week!

Augie
