Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Bryan and Betsey: Wow, that's impressive. I can now say that I am hoping to be half the athlete you guys are -- I did some quick calculating and realized that if, starting this weekend, I get in slightly over 50 miles every week, I could cover the distance to Disney World and back by the time Marathon weekend 2009 rolls around. So that is my new goal (now I just need to figure out how to set a 45 week goal on my Nike plus)!

Vic: Quick question, oh captain, my captain. Are we reporting miles/minutes through today, or through tomorrow (i.e., the end of the month)? I'm pretty excited because, as mentioned above, I got to spend a lot of time at the hotel fitness center recently and managed to get some decent mileage in this week!

I had some other questions/responses, but now I've forgotten them. Sigh. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Or lose. Or temporarily misplace.

Hi team, how you are? (My best Cajun accent)

Has everyone had a good month? Your friendly Panda is doing better and can start contributing miles to his team now. I know that y'all have been concerned that I had to much time on my hands.

Starting next month, which is in a few days we are going to have a new thread about either adding something or subtracting something form our lifestyle plan. Everyone can post from all the teams and maybe each of us can get ideas of what we could change ourselves. It will also give us a group thread to keep up with the fact that we are all part of the same larger team.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Hello DDD's! This will be my first milage report for the team. I just ran 5k's on the treadmill in 36:30. That was after doing a lot of targeted lower body lifts for my upcoming Fire Department physical exam. I did 4 sets of 25 squats @200lbs each as well as a whole lot of other leg lifts and a really killer core routine that I found in Men's Health mag. Hope my time and distance doesn't drag the team down. I plan on really hitting the streets and doing some serious milage in the coming weeks!pirate:

Hey Team!

Just a quick report of miles for the week. It was a step-back week in my training plan so not much to show.

Sat 8.2 miles/67 min
Mon 6.1 miles/50 min
Wed 7 miles/61 min
Thur 7.4 miles 60 min

Totals 28.7 miles/238 minutes

Take care and have a good weekend.

You can report through Friday. :)

Ed - :welcome:

Don't forget, time spent XT counts. So, make sure you report it.

:goodvibes
My week:

Totals: 86.4 miles/8:50 hours

Breakdown:
2.4 miles swim/1:50
73.0 miles bike/4:50
11.0 miles run/2:10

No XT this week...slackin'! :sad2:
Sort of a heavier bike week for me, trying to get back in the saddle, so to speak. And there will be more running next week, with a 1/2 marathon on Sunday! (double miles!)

Vic, good luck in your 1/2 as well....no blisters! (fingers crossed for you)

Optimator, good job!

Ed...when is your firefighter test? And what do mean, bring us down? EVERY mile and minute counts....even if you go walk for 15 minutes, that is good for you and good for the team!

(I'm off work this week and next, and have some tri's coming up, so I have no excuse not to ramp it up. That doesn't mean I think anyone else should feel pressured to do the same. Except Bryan, 'cause we are now going for that 100! heehee!)

Happy Leap Year Day!!! :cool1:

Thanks, but it doesn't look like I'll be racing this weekend. Just haven't trained well enough, IMO.

There's always another day. :)

Vic,

My miles and times.

35.2 miles and 264 minutes.

I can give the breakdown if you need them for an audit later. ;)

Bill

Good job, Bill!! :thumbsup2

Big Vic, sorry to hear that...thought I would have someone to suffer with (mentally, across the miles). haha! Well, as much LTO/WTO as you have had, that is totally understandable.
Just have a great weekend, K?

Sorry folks - LTO way too much lately - can't say WTO because that has been VERY boring!! I did start my official training for the 15k on Tuesday so I am feeling more comitted - before there was no goal in mind and I just basically let it slack. So since I just started official training on Tuesday yep you guess it I let it slack Friday, Saturday and Sunday - didn't get ANY training in so my milage and time is really low this week (Mike you thought your totals were low - they still come out WAY higher then mine!!)0

Monday - 20 minutes stretching & strength
Tuesday - 3 miles (1 mile walk/2 miles run) - 41 minutes
Wednesday - 1.5 mile slow walk - 30 mins for XT
Thursday - 1.7 miles - 35 minutes

Total - 6.2 miles/126 mins

I thought we the new week started on Friday - going from Friday thru Thursday. Not that it matters for last week since I didn't do anything on Friday and it is my rest day but that may change since I am busy usually on Thursday evening and most likely won't always be able to get a run in. But clarification would be nice. Thanks!!

Way to go team!!! Some of the numbers that are being posted are very impressive. It's really exciting and motivating, too.

For my numbers, I feel like I let you guys down this week. I had stated that I was going for 100 miles and I came up a little short. Here are my totals for this week.

Cardio - 90 miles
Cardio time - 8 1/2 hours
Strength training time - 3 1/2 hours

I think my total equals just over 100 but I really wanted that distance. I can promise that before it is over with, I will get that number more than once.

Great job team! Let's keep it up!

Bryan

Tricia....every little bit counts! Having the race coming up/goals set/etc will help motivate you more. I got a flyer in the mail about the 15K, but I think I have a schedule conflict that weekend, so can't get out there for it. You will ROCK and have a blast!

I'm still counting Friday-Thursday...I think this month is off a little because of Leap day? It's all going to come out even in the end, so it probably doesn't matter which day you stop counting for the week, as long as it's consistent.

Bryan...great job! We'll have our 100 mile smackdown coming up! pirate:

My numbers for the week:

walking: 3.1 miles/58 minutes
stationary bike: 8.5 miles/45 minutes
core/psuedo pilates/90 minutes

Good job, Bill!! :thumbsup2

Big Vic, sorry to hear that...thought I would have someone to suffer with (mentally, across the miles). haha! Well, as much LTO/WTO as you have had, that is totally understandable.

Roger that.

You too! :)

Sorry I have been MIA... February was not a good month for our family between trips, colds, stomach flu, sinus infection, and ear infections...

So - since I don't think i ever did this... Here is my intro. I'm Lynnda, DW of Bill (wfloyd), and mommy to Billy (age 4) and Timmy (almost 11 months). I'm mostly a SAHM, but on the mornings that Billy has preschool, I work at our church as assistant to the Minister of Music. Timmy comes with me, and is my assistant. ;) I am also able to take some of the work home to do in the evenings.

Training - I am currently walking, although I used to walk/run before this last pregnancy. I hope to be able to run again by the fall. I love to bike and swim, as well, but have trouble fitting those in with two little ones. My upcoming races are a 3K in March, Minnie in May (maybe), and Danskin Tri in May. I'm also signed up for the half again in January. :thumbsup2

For this week - I have 15.2 miles and 193 minutes. I can give a break down if needed, but that includes a 5K, walking, strength training, stretching, and biking. I'm hoping to bike again this afternoon - I'll add that time and mileage tonight.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

:goodvibes Lynnda

Welcome Ed:welcome:

I have been a slug this week. I have had no motivation to do training of any sorts. I think the problem is I have nothing lined up as of yet as far as races go.

Miles - 0 :sad2:

Did get some minutes in though.

Saturday - skiing - 98 minutes
Sunday - skiing - 91 minutes
Wednesday - Basketball - 90 minutes

To make matters worse I am traveling next week for work, but I hope to get a few workouts in.

Scott - Great job getting in the minutes! :thumbsup2

I just went out on the bike, so please add the following to my total this week - 5.4 miles and 30 minutes. That should bring my final for the week to 223 minutes and 20.6 miles.

Thanks! :)
