Tequila is rough! I'm not a fan either. Tequila makes people do crazy things...
Right, like racing to MK after Illuminations to catch the end of Wishes. It was fun though.

Hi Ducks! It's spring break time here. My boys are out of school today and all of next week. I love sleeping in!!
I had my latest doctor's appointment yesterday. I still have pain in my left tendon (it has posterior tibial tendonitis in case you don't recall...which I would not expect anyone to. lol) He wants an MRI. So I'm getting one on April 10th and then I'll see him again and get the MRI results on April 16th. So, that's the new date for further info...
In the meantime, I have to decide if I should register for Dopey next week (early reg. is April 3rd) not knowing my MRI results and what the future holds. My thoughts are all over the place. I definitely WANT to do Dopey. That much I know. It's will I physically be ABLE to that is the question.
Could I walk it if I had to? I would be willing to try for sure. So, that makes me think I should go ahead register and then hope for the best... I could also defer if it came to that.

I think you answered your own question, but I would register and then deal with deferral or modification as the time comes. If you DON'T register, really wanting to do it as you do, and you ARE physically up to it 100%, you will be unhappy at missing your shot.
Ooh, tough decision Liz. What's the worst case scenario from the MRI, surgery? Surgery in April/May and following physical therapy will still be enough time to prepare for the Dopey. It may mean more walking than running, but it should be do-able. I'm only basing that on my experience with my knee surgery in May and then doing the W&D on Oct. 1st. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV though, so take it for what it's worth!
Doesn't that waiting game stink? I had to wait like 2 weeks for the MRI and then the results too. Frustrating. Good luck being patient. For the MRI business and with the kids off school!! My kids started yesterday and were already "bored." Grreeeeaaaat.![]()
Ugh! I wish it was just all healed for you so you wouldn't even have to think about it. Hoping for good news on the 16th.![]()
Hey Ducks,
Did the Crescent City Classic 10K today. Could not have gone better. Weather was BEAUTIFUL. My IT band has been giving me trouble, but thanks to a pre-race soak in the hot tub and some serious stretching from my DH/Trainer, I had no pain today. YAY!!!! The CCC people finally realized that with 20K runners, it was time to get organized. We had actual corrals and a better route. So I was able to take more than two minutes off my PR for a 10K! And since we were in New Orleans, DH and I had post-race chargrilled oysters and a fried shrimp poboy. Yum! Now I have nothing but 5Ks until Wine and Dine. Yahoo!!
Happy trails everyone!

Happy Easter Ducks!
Thanks! Yes, I am too hopeful not to sign up.
My doc doesn't think it's bad enough to require surgery, but he couldn't say for sure without the MRI. So we shall see. I've been reading a ton about this injury/issue, of course, and in one way I almost want to have surgery...people get over it faster that way in some cases! But, rationally thinking of course I don't want surgery.
Thanks Liz & McDuck! We signed up for next year too. How can I say no to a $25.00 registration fee? I looked at the Crescent City Connection Bridge Run in June. Only 4 miles, but up 300 feet in what will probably be 95+ degress.DH gave me a big "thanks, but no thanks".

Hi everyone,
I hope the week finds everyone healthy or at least mending.
I had a good 10 mile run last Saturday, the weather finally cooperated. Monday after work Debbie and I did a April Fools Twinkie 5k and it was COLD. I was wearing thin long running pants and a thin sweatshirt. Once I got a third of a mile in I finally warmed up, but that standing around waiting for the start was brutal. To ad insult, because Twinkies aren't available now they substituted terrible fake Twinkies. The idea of the race is we have to eat the faux Twinkie at the start of the race and at the half way eat another twinkie and they will deduct 2 minutes from your run time. I skipped the second one. It's a fun event and hopefully next year the real golden sponge cake will make a return.
I have a mini dilemma, all along I have planned on signing up for the WDW half marathon, but enough time must have passed since January I kind of want to do the full again. I'm not sure what to sign up for. I do know Goofy and Dopey are out. The January trip will be at the end of our premium annual passes and we don't plan on renewing. Our next trip probably won't be until the next WDW marathon weekend in 2015, so I want to squeeze in as much park time as possible. Other than the last 4 miles and the sun baking my brain I really enjoyed the marathon, so I think you know what I'm leaning to. I will give it until the weekend and make my decision and sign up.
Have a good week!
Joe
Hey Ducks!
I stopped by my local running store to check the sale room today. I am always on the lookout for discontinued models of our normal shoes. Of course, they have a pair of DH's NBs for 50% off (yay!) but no Brooks Ghosts for me. While I was looking, I saw a pair of Brooks PureConnects (one of those semi-minimalist shoes). I figure for 50% off, I'll see what all the hub-bub is about. But the clerk warned me that the transition would take a while and I shouldn't run any long distances right away. Anyone have advice about how to do the switch?
Thanks! Jeni
