welp, I did my 10 miler yesterday and I felt pretty good. Little pain in the hip area but feeling pretty good today.. Now time to taper down for next week's race.

kolohe_lady WELCOME! :cheer2:

Phil: Here's my cell: 609-254-0293 & I'm in Corral 14.

Howdy Ducks!

It's been a while since I posted. Life does that to you. Anyhoo, I'm still running. Drove over to Memorial Park this morning for a change of scenery (how many Tinkerbell sitings can one Duck stand to see? :confused3) and ran 8 miles. Slowly ramping up for the W&D in less than two months. Looks like only me and Easter will be swimming from this pond for that race. Is that true? Just two Ducks this year?

GOOD LUCK to all the Ducks running the ToT this year! :cool1: It looks like great fun, but alas, there is only so much traveling this Duck can manage. I'm off to Amsterdam tomorrow for a week of work. Hope to get in a few runs while I'm there. It's gonna be in the 50's and 60's all week! I don't even know how to dress for that kinda weather anymore!

WELCOME to all the new Ducklings in our pond! :wave2: Not to worry - there's plenty of room for all of us :crowded: ...and our feathers! It's great keeping up with everyone as I lurk this thread daily. Sounds like most Ducks are injury-fee right now. Let's keep it that way!

Again - have fun at the ToT! Not sure I'll get back out to this thread before y'all start heading south for the race. Run smart, fly straight, and make us Ducks proud!

Renee

KL~(That's what I'm going to call you, kolohe_lady. Lol. Hey what does kolohe mean?) I've never done a color run. Sure looks like an interesting experience though! I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. How'd it go?

Easter~I'm glad your 10 went well!

Renee~Oooh enjoy running in those cool temps this week!

Karin and Phil~Good luck at your half tomorrow!

Laura~Good luck at your full tomorrow!

I'm getting up and starting my 13 miler at 6am. So I'll be thinking of you racers starting out as I finish up. GO Ducks!!

Good morning Ducks! Hoping everyone is doing well.

kolohe_lady - :welcome:

Everyone - Keep up the great work with training, and racing.

Out for a 14 miler yesterday. Started at 0530, which we were thankful for at the finish. No problems encountered. One good thing about training in these parts, we're prepared for warm Orlando Januarys. Of course if its freezing there is some serious whining going on. :)

Take care.

:cool2:

Vic great job on your 14! I hope we have not hot and not freezing temps for marathon weekend.

Laura, Phil and Karin how'd the races go?

I got my 13 done this morning. Started at 6:15 and finished at 9:05. It wasn't cool enough for me. Hopefully in another two weeks it will be cooler when I do my longest run to date, 15.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for asking, Liz, but unfortunately I couldn't run in the Rock 'n Roll half today. I have a cyst that turned into a staph infection (something I dumbly ran through) and I was told by my doctor that I was out for today. I'm scrambling looking for something else to run in he next few weeks. Hope everyone else is doing well this weekend!

Vic: CONGRATS on your 14 miles!

Phil: I'm so sorry to hear you were out yesterday! Hope you are doing better.

Liz: CONGRATS on your run too! How are you feeling about the Goofy?

For me, I ran a 10:39 pace yesterday & felt great! It was about 77 degrees tops & was so nice outside. This morning I'm a little sore but feeling the best I have after a race. I am TERRIFIED, however, about the Goofy.

Did 9.5 miles yesterday and felt great!! I was so happy I did them in under 2 hours!! I can see little by little I am getting a bit faster.
Now I'm in for just 4 & 5 miles until WDW on the 27th!!! I can't wait!!

That's awesome, great job on the half! How was the course? I was so bummed out that I had to skip it!

Phil I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon!

Karin way to go on your half! I'm feeling fine about Goofy as of now. Ask me again in a couple months... Lol

Karen yay for getting faster!

Morning Ducks!

We are heading to WDW in six days! I feel like this: :hyper::banana::cool1::scared1: That last little guy represents my panic for having nothing packed for this trip yet! And I haven't done a grocery run either. Yikes! But I did finish making our shirts for the MNSSHP. So thats something. One last long run tomorrow, then taper. Happy trails everyone!

Hey everyone,
Three more work days until we leave for WDW! :cool1:
I have called off anymore runs until the ToT race next week. I have been getting foot pain for the last week. The same thing happened last year for the Wine & Dine and after the half i couldn't enjoy the after party, I plan on experiencing the whole after party next weekend.
I did have a running partner on Tuesday (they didn't know it, though:confused3). At mile 4 of a 6 mile run I was passed and sped up to keep pace. I finished the 6 miles in 54 minutes with my last mile in 8:40. My legs were pretty sore afterwords, obviously all of the miles I do arn't quality miles, time to get back into cross training. Tomorrow Debbie and I are going to check out the community colleges new rec center to see if we want to join.
It looks like I have to rethink my WDW trip plans for next year. I was going to be content with just a trip in January for the full and going to the park 1 day to check out the new Fantasyland, but with the DVC discount for a Premium annual pass, I have to take advantage of it. Maybe I can start thinking about next years Wine & Dine.
kolohe_lady: Welcome! how was the DL half with the constuction of California Adventure complete? Debbie & I did the race last year and it was pretty crowded running through the construction walls. I would like to run it again in the next couple of years.
Have a good week and I will some of you in a few days.
Joe

Morning Ducks!! I have just two more sleeps before my journey to the ToT run!!
I am excited!! Thursday I will be all alone treading through the parks. My first time alone and I am kind of excited about it!

Be well and run for fun!

This week could not possibly take any longer.

I am right there with you! Each hour seems to drag by!
I am leaving tomorrow morning and I wonder if I will even sleep tonight!

Hey Ducks!

We had our WDW trip this past weekend and had a great time! We stayed at BLT Thurs-Sun. We did MNSSHP on Friday night. It rained on us for awhile, and they cancelled the first parade. But thankfully it cleared right before the fireworks so we saw those and the second parade.

Saturday we spent at Epcot and all day was beautiful. We had a great lunch at Teppan Edo, one of our favs.

Sunday we had breakfast at the Wave before driving home. We've never had bfast there. We had the buffet and it was very good! The food quality was definitely above what a typical bfast buffet is like.

I know all of you ToT runners are SO excited right now! I'm so excited for you! Have great trips and fun at the race. I can't wait to hear all about it! :)
