Hey Everyone!

Hope all is well and your runs are all going smoothly and are injury free! Ran in the Wildwood Half Marathon today. I didn't have a PR but I didn't run my worst time either and that's fine with me!

Philadelphia Rock 'N Roll Half in three weeks for me so I am going to go to rest today, maybe take my daughter to the beach in a little bit, and celebrate with an adult beverage or three!

Hi everyone, I am sitting at AS Movies resort waiting for the ME bus. We had a good weekend, hopefully Irene stays away until our plane leaves Orlando.
Phil: nice job on your half run, enjoy that adult beverage.
The free wifi at the resort and parks is pretty cool. Debbie and I watched illuminations last night and my sister joined us on her couch in Kentucky through FaceTime. It worked without any glitches. The new Disney app is pretty good, we were able to Change our lunch ressie from 1:10 to 12:00 from the app while in the land pavilion at 10:30 that morning. Checking out realtime wait times and fast pass returns is pretty handy while in the parks.
have a good week Ducks!
Joe

Thanks, Joe! Glad you had a good time on your WDW trip!

And I definitely enjoyed the adult beverage(s)!

Hi Ducks,

Sorry it's been a l-o-n-g time since I posted. I've been keeping busy with just about everything BUT running! We did get a new Landice elliptical machine so I am managing to get on that and my treadmill on occasion. But I definitely need to kick things back into gear so what better way than to sign up for a Disney Half Marathon?!!! For those of you who have participated in Marathon Weekend and/or in the Princess HM, which do you recommend and why? Do they both start at some crazy hour of the morning? My inclination is to sign up for the Princess because the training schedule works better for me to run in Feb vs Jan. But I could be swayed otherwise!

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer. Just booked a visit to the Beach Club for Easter so I have a new countdown to look forward to! :) Hope all is well with everyone!

Good Morning Ducks!! I have absolutely nothing running related, but shopping related instead! ;)

Disneystore.com has 25% off all theme park merchandise today, INCLUDING all runDisney gear!! If you've been eyeing up a Tshirt, track jacket or sweatshirt, or whatever, this is a good deal!! (and you can combine with the free shipping code when you go over $75. And you will.)

Happy shopping.

I registered for the 5K this morning. I am going DOPEY! The 5K will be pure walking and pure fun! I booked another night at OKW so I've got my room covered for 4 nights now. And pretty soon I'll buy my flights.

Hi Liz! Sounds like a nice relaxing and fun 5K.

I got my Bib for TOT #6995! Can't wait. :)
Staying at ASSR

Booked into POR for January. Just hope we don't have bus issues with outside contract drivers this year. :( Other wise I'll make sure I'm up early for the bus stop. 3AM??? Ouch.

Fighting a cold --- Winning :) I hope it is goine b4 holiday weekend

Take it easy everyone keep up the great workouts. Can't wait for fall temps.

Colleen

Hey Ducks!

It's been a little wet here in Louisiana, but we faired really well in Baton Rouge. Very little damage compared to some of our neighboring parishes.

When I saw that Mickeyfan74 had her TOT bib number, I had to go get ours. But when I pulled up our numbers all I could think was - There must be some mistake! DH is 1058 and I am 2338. We are in Corral A. That's right behind the Kenyans! That can't be right! :rotfl2: There must be a bunch of fast people who don't have a qualifying time.

So new goal - Find an elite runner for a photo op before the race starts and post it to Facebook. I may not run a 5:30, but I can stand near someone who does!

I had a minor surgery on Monday, which was a bit of a suprise. So I haven't run since the Baton Rouge Zoo Zoom 5K on Saturday - pace was 9:38. DH did a 8:13 - hate him sometimes.

Doc called today and said the word I had been waiting for - BENIGN! WaaHoooo! :worship: Hoping to get back on the road today, if the weather holds. Scheduled to do 7 miles on Sunday. Fun, fun!

Happy trails everyone! Jeni

Like your idea about photo op with kenyan. :)

Im working on getting a 12 min mile pace. Trying 2 minute walk, 3 minute jog. 4 more weeks to pull it off. ;)
Currently placed in corral C

Hi to all the Ducks out there!

I managed a 5 mile & 7 mile run after work this week. I am really going to miss my evening runs once it starts to get dark early, it messes with my training schedule. I'm not sure how my long run is going to go this weekend, I am heading up north to spend the weekend with my parents. My Mom want me to walk the Mackinaw bridge with her on Monday. It's a Labor day thing where they close off 2 lanes of the bridge for people to walk from the Upper Peninsula to the Lower Peninsula. Its going to be a long day, but should be fun.

Have a good Labor Day weekend everyone.

Joe

Good evening Ducks! Had to share my new Half PR with you guys - 2:28(and change)!!! Don't have the official chip time yet, but according to my watch, it was 2:28:20. :cool1: This should get me out of the last corral come January. :thumbsup2 It was hilly and chilly, but I finished!

And it was also my DH's first (and likely last) Half as well! He totally could have finished waaaay closer to a nice and even 2 hours, but he stayed with me the entire time  and was actually excellent motivation for me to just keep swimming, just keep swimming.... But he's paying for it now! He's in a bit of pain with his IT band and acchilles. Furthest he ran during training was 7 miles, so his body just wasn't prepared. That's why he says it's the only one he'll ever do!!

ToT is only 10 miles though.... maybe in a few years.... ;)

Good morning Ducks!

Hoping everyone is doing well.

Out with the Galloway group yesterday for 12 hot, humid, stinkin miles. I guess mother nature made up for four days of wind and rain, because it was definitely not conducive to efficient training. But, we got'er done.

Got up this morning and I think the refrigerator is dying. Just don't make them like they used to, I guess.

Jeni - Glad to hear you guys faired well. Man that was a lot of rain.

Joe - Have fun on Monday.

Tanya - Congrats on the PR!

Laura – Sorry, just saw your post. The group is currently doing 15:00 minute miles for the long iterations. I believe that’s right where we’re supposed to be according to the plan. My goal is 12:00 pace for the marathon. Hopefully as everyone progresses the pace will increase. I’ve been doing my mid-week iterations around the 13:00 minute mark. It will all come together. I know my knees like the slower pace, and the intervals.

Robyn – Welcome back. I guess the early morning start is to alleviate (as much as possible) impact on the parks? Sounds good anyway.

Shannon – I started back lifting (very light weights) a couple of weeks ago, and also broke out the boxing gloves. Besides sore muscles all is well.

:cool2:

Happy Labor Day Ducks! It's hot and humid and off and on rain here today. Lovely... Now that it's September I cannot wait for fall weather. Especially lower humidity, it's been awful this summer!

I'm up to 11 miles for my long run. Looking ahead, I probably won't have time for any back to back long runs until November after my boys' football seasons are done.

I have Disney trip news! My oldest turns 13 this month and we're going to WDW for a long weekend to celebrate. :) We're staying at Bay Lake Tower. We'll go to MNSSHP and one day in Epcot. We can't wait!

Marathon Weekend Ducks: I went ahead and made an ADR for Turf Club for Saturday, January 12 at 5:10pm for 10 people. Please tell me if you'd like to take part in this!

On Sunday, January 13 the Outer Rim Lounge may not open for service until 4:30pm. (We can still sit in the seats though.) So we may just be chit chatting and not having drinks until right before Chef Mickey's at 5pm. It's fine with me, I just wanted to make sure everyone realized that.

For Chef Mickey's at 5pm, please if you haven't already, tell me if you will be joining us. There are still 7 spots left.

Shanonn~I was running 4 days a week, but am down to 3 right now. I may just leave it at 3. I haven't xt (which for me is biking) in a long time. I need to! Ideally I'd run 3 and xt 2.

Robyn~Have you decided which half you're doing yet? Having done both, I much prefer the January half. It is just a much more exciting weekend. I want to do Marathon weekend every year indefinitely, but I can take or leave the Princess. They are both at the same wee hour of the morning. lol If you won't be ready for January though (don't push it), then go for the Princess.

Colleen~I hope your cold has gone away!

Jeni~Congrats on your WONDERFUL news!!!! :goodvibes

Tanya~WTG on your half PR! That's super close to mine so we'll be in the same corrals for Goofy now!

Liz: I'm with you...SO EXCITED for fall & cooler temps. :lovestruc
So fun with a long weekend to BLT! LOVE IT THERE!!!! Have fun!

Phil: Hope to see you @ the Rock n Roll in two weeks!

Vic: AWESOME Job on the 12 miles!

Joe: What a nice Labor Day with your parents! How's Steph doing now that she's home? Is she back in classes?

Jen: SO GLAD to hear all is well. How was your run on Sunday?

Robyn: I second Liz's advice. We'd LOVE to see you for Marathon Weekend, but if you feel better with training for the Princess I'd go for that one. It's Disney...BOTH ARE FABULOUS FUN!

Tanya: Way to go on your PR!!!! Hope your DH's Achilles & ITB are feeling better.

Shannon: I'm running between 2-3 times per week & lifting 2x's & yoga 2x's (not always depends upon work schedule) & HOW THE HECK DID YOU GET INTO BE OUR GUEST???? I've been trying since they opened for ressies!

I did 9 miles yesterday & felt so good (O.K., super sore today - dang ITB!), but I'm headed to the gym today to lift & will continue to foam roll.

Tanya - Congrats on the PR!

Liz - Birthday at BLT and MNNSHP...that's one lucky DS! Have a great trip!

Karin- My 7 miles on Sunday went pretty well. Thanks for asking! DH and I are pushing to get me running without taking walk breaks. We slowed the pace down, which helps. I did 5 miles without stopping on Sunday, so we are getting somewhere. DH is so competative; it means a lot that he is slowing down to help me. :lovestruc

Great work on training everyone!

Ducks - I need some non-running help. For every trip to WDW, I create a Disney Trivia Game for the family to play. (I have to make up questions, because they know all the regular trivia answers.) My dad is the current champion. After ten years, I am running out of obscure trivia. So this year, I decided to do it in the style of Family Feud. That's where yall come in. I need help getting the "top 100 answers". Please take a few minutes to answer the following questions. I really appreciate it. I would post this in the general boards, but my dad lurks there and I don't want him cheating. Feel free to PM the answers so we don't clog the thread. Thanks for the help! Jeni

Hi Ducks I haven't been around in a REAL long time. I found my way back because I am signed up for the TOT 10 miler and getting excited now that its only 21 days away!!! I haven't done a race since Goofy 2011.

I saw that everyone was getting their bib numbers which I didn't know where out (so thanks because now I know mine - # 5572) but how do you know what corral you are in? I can just assume I am not in A and hopefully not the last corral. Can't wait to get back into racing!!

Good morning! Still hanging on to my training and looking forward to the ToT race just weeks away!

Got some lycra and tulle to try to make a running tutu to match my Autism Speaks bib which is powder blue and white :rolleyes2

Have been upping my distance and have finally made it to 10 miles on my long runs! I'm pretty happy with that as I only started running last year. Feeling pretty good.

Celebrated 60 pounds of weight loss recently. That was awesome! :cool1:

I am looking forward to a 5k this weekend where I hope to PR. There is great swag at the race and a designer gym bag as the race pickup bag.

Hope you all are enjoying cooler weather!

Carolynn: CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss & your 10 miler! THAT'S AWESOME! :yay:

I just did 4 miles today (long work week). Scheduled for 11 on Sunday & then Philly half marathon next Sunday (Sept. 16)!

Rained out of my run this morning. THis is torrential rain with wind bending the trees. I hope it passes so I can get in my 12k today.

Sigh.

ETA: Ran a great 12k as soon as the rain let up a little. I got rained on, but finished strong and felt amazing.

11 miles @ 11:09 pace (that includes a run into a store to get more PowerAde & fill my CamelBak) :lmao:

Who's doing the Philly Half next weekend? Phil? Shannon?
I just got my new Minnie Mouse Sparkle Skirt (I got pink) so I should be easy to spot, right? :thumbsup2
