:-( Carissa - hope things get better soon.

Liz - hope your knee feels better.

Today is my DH's birthday so I took a half day at work and when I got home we went to the local putt putt golf place. He likes golf but I can't afford a round of golf so we settled for the mini golf. Its a newer place and right down the road from my house. We had a great time. And a nice porterhouse steak on the grill. Its not much but it has made his day nice - which is good since things have been kind of down for us lately.

No motivation for running but maybe this weekend. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Good morning Ducks! Well my knee has felt fine since Tuesday. I rode my bike yesterday and it was fine. I haven't run again yet though. Planning to today so we'll see how it feels when I run on it. Thanks for the well wishes!

Jenny you have some fun plans made. The Dream, how exciting!! You're going to have a wonderful birthday next year! :cool1:

Tricia I am taking a look at Craigs List for a TM, I now have a house and room for it so I think it is the logical step for me after this difficult winter..

Remember everyone, Keep Moving Forward!!!

Do you have a Freecycle group in Brooklyn? I'm sure you must . . . anyway, that might be worth checking out. I got my first TM off of freecycle from someone in Queens. They had gotten it for the dad who was doing physical therapy after a fall, and hated it. All they wanted was for it to be out of there! Can't beat the price, huh? I see plenty of exercise equipment, including treadmills, on my freecycle group out here in Nassau, so I bet you can find something if you keep looking.

I did my run today and it went well! I ran the first mile and just wanted to see how my knee felt. It was fine so I decided to try to run 4 miles in under 40 minutes. I did it. :) My knee had a few little twinges but was fine. I don't know what happened with it on Monday but I'm glad it seems to be gone or almost gone.

Glad everything is going well and you are right on track!! WOOT!!

I am looking into that Freecycle sounds like it could work..
Thanks

Love my asics 2150's so of course they now chamnged them and make 2160's.
And I am fickle and always like to try something new...so went and bought myself a pair of new balance 860's. Did 3 in them last night with no problems but have one last long run this weekend before the Princess. We shall see...

So what do you all run in?

I run in Pearl Izumi Syncro-Pace 2s. They are the only shoes I have found that my feet agree with. I just bought a pair of 3s (on sale at Running Warehouse). Hope they fit the same.

Hi to all my Duck friends.
I have been running in Saucony Guide 3 shoes for a year now (on my second pair). I bought a pair of Aesics gel Foundation 9, but I don't really like running in them, but they are comfortable to walk in.
I had a good 5 mile run on the treadmill the other night. I am getting used to running on the TM, but I'm looking forward to getting back outside again.
I am packed, checked in online for my flight and room at the AS Sports resort for tomorrows trip.:cool1: I am looking forward to my trip, but a little sad that I will be away from Debbie for Valentines Day, but we are planning on doing a nice dinner at Epcot on our return trip later in the month.:lovestruc
I plan on playing with my new iPhone on this trip, so expect updates, here and on FB.
Have a good week everyone.
Joe

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in to say I felt like I was finally making progress this week in my C25K plan - I felt less winded and stronger every day - until I got hit with the stomach flu on Thursday. Ugh. I am hoping it does not take me too much time to pick up where I left off. I went for a walk today just to get some fresh air and hope to be back either outside or on the TM by Monday.

Liz - I think I may buy a pair of those Asics. They are available in my size. Just praying that they fit. I typically try not to buy any type of footwear over the internet but the price is so good. The only thing is that the code you mention doesn't seem to be giving me any type of additional discount? Thanks for the link!

Joe~safe travels!!

Robyn~I had trouble with the code at first too. What you have to do is click on team discounts at the top of the page, enter code WISHD then do your shopping. I hope the Asics work for you! But as you may have noticed, they offer free shipping and returns, so you can get a full refund if they don't fit. For what it's worth, I wear a size 9-10 in non-running shoes, but I wear a 10.5 in running shoes. That extra toe room is needed, for me anyway.

Oh and I'm sorry you're sick. I hope it doesn't last long and you can get right back to it. :)

Hi there Ducks! Happy Sunday! Just saw a thread here that they are making some changes to the W&D. It looks like they are putting the finish where the Jan races end, they said outside the park in a parking lot. So we will get to run thru Epcot more. Maybe the post-party will not be so crowded as well.

Joe, have a great trip, I hope FL will be warmer than MI!

I run in Adidas, not sure what model as they are at work now. I got them at a running store. I am due for a new pair soon anyway. Has anyone used Spira? I was talking to someone at the marathon who did and he said it improved his time quite a bit. I guess the spring in the bottom works.

Have a good weekend!

Actually I read that the finish would be in the parking lot directly out front of Epcot and I think it specifically said NOT the parking lot that the January races or Princess end in. I am thinking its the one that is straight out from the mononrail station. So maybe they will have you running out the front of Epcot.

As for me - the only shoes I have ever run in are Asics Gel Kayanos - I started with the 13's, multiple pairs of the 14s and 15s and the ones I have now are the 16s but I am due for new shoes awhile ago. :-( - they are now up to 17s. I am afraid to try another shoe since these have been good to me since 2007. I just wish they didn't cost so much.

Good luck to any Ducks getting ready for Princess or any other race coming up. And happy Valentines Day Ducks!!!

I did it, I got out and did 2 miles again.. it isn't much but after the cold and icy winter it is something.. Felt great!!
I hope the weather stays and I can get back into shape and get working on the Wine and Dine!! looks like we are going!! my DD wants to do the 5k in the morning so, looks like half the family will be running this year ;)

I just registered for Wine & Dine!! :) It was my Valentine's gift from dh...per my request. lol

I did an 11 mile run today, my last biggie before the Princess. Did it in a good time for me, just under 2 hours. I hope, hope, hope I can carry these good runs I've been having over to the Princess and have a good race that day. I feel tired but good!

Augie~I've never used Spira, but I read about it's spring and how it sends the energy back into the runner. I like the sound of that! ha!

Karen~Glad you got out today, I bet it felt so good!

Good evening Ducks!

Hoping everyone is doing well.

On the TM for 5 yesterday. I was supposed to do 9, but my heart wasn't in it.

Joe - Hope you're having fun at the World.

Robyn - WTG with the training! Hope you're feeling better.

Augie - W'sup!? Bout time for some straight line action.

Karen - WTG with the 2 miler!

Liz - WTG with the 11 miler!

Tricia - W'Sup!?

The weather has eased up and we're back to almost normal temps. Decided to ride the scooter to work today. 35 when I left, 63 on the way home. Felt good being on the bike Vs being in the cage.

Hi everyone. I am having a great time at WDW. The weather has been great. It did the Wild Africa Trek to and that was a lot of fun. I accomplished 2 things today that I havent done before, I saw Mickeys Jumgle Jamming Parade and found Devine. I will be posting pictures on to FB once I get wifi at the next hotel. After spending 9 hours at AK I managed to run 3.3 miles at the All Star resorts. I had to work off the chicken dinner I had at Flame Tree BBQ. Just a bit of advise, don't run after eating at Flame Tree. I was burping smoke flavor the whole time. A tid bit of info, Stacy has a new video looping on the Disney channel that plays on the resort tvs. She is still annoying.
Sounds like everyone is doing great on their training, good job!
Well I'm off to bed, I have been here for 2 days and havent been to MK yet, which is usually the first place I go, so I am spending the day there.
Joe
