I hope to be and am registered....but I still have a fever and am in bed! Was diagnosed with strep last Wednesday and put on zpack which did nothing. Been on new meds since Sunday with little improvement. Doc thinks I have something viral on top of the strep. Just freaked out because a friend from work had her strep "turn into" pneumonia. I can run through a lot of things, but do not want to fall out at the race! Hoping I still get to run...
Hij Everyone,

First of all, even though I am new here to this group and don't know Tim, just wanted to wish him well. I recently graduated from nursing school and understand what they are dealing with. Tim - my thoughts are with you and your wife.

So, we took a road trip this weekend out to Penn State where I discovered the most wonderful sticky buns at a college diner! Problem is I ate too many of them (we also brought some home). Combine that with no exercise for a few days and I am feeling very "blah" tonight. So tomorrow morning I am either back on the treadmill or getting outside to run. I felt like I was finally starting to make some progress with my C25K and this weekend has set me back. I have been reading thru the Princess Half threads and can't wait to be there next year. That is my big motivation at the moment. In the meantime I am planning to run my first 5K in April - can't wait!

Good Luck to everyone running @ Princess this weekend. I know Liz is running - anyone else?

Hey Ducks! Yesterday was my last longish run before the Princess. I did 7 miles and that was about all I could handle. It was in the upper 60's and bright sun (I got a little sunburn-forgot my sunblock again). I swear the combo of beating down sun and warm temps just sucks the energy out of me!! My pace was slower than it was for my 11 miler a week ago, when it was cooler. Crazy. And the warm forecast for the race Sunday definitely has me worried. Looks like around 60 for the start. I'm just glad the race is early so the sun won't be high.

Robyn~look at post #2 on here and you'll see the Princess racers listed. :)

Laura~I'm sorry you're so sick still! :( I hope you get well enough to at least walk it!

I haven't been on in forever - still rehabbing my knee.

Sending many positive thoughts & prayers Tim! :grouphug:

Best wishes to everyone running this weekend!!!!

Hi Duckies!
Good luck to all the Princess runners this weekend. I am going to try to be on Main Street cheering you all on that morning. I have 2 cousins running also (the Mother and sister of Gary that some of you met after the WDW half).
I have one more day of work then we are loading up the car for a drive south:cool1:. We got blasted with more snow this week, i am looking forward to getting away from it again.

I have signed Debbie and I up for the Expedition Everest Challenge:thumbsup2.
Now to decide if we can do the Wine and Dine and figure out if Debbie and will do the relay or each run the race. If we each run the half, Debbie will qualify for the coast to coast.
I haven't been doing any running since I got back, hopefully I can get out for a few miles on our trip.
Have a good week everyone.
Joe

I am also planning on doing that! I am also probably going to do W&D again.

Vic, I have been to two Gators, one a long time ago, early 80's. Last time was three years ago, but the day I went (Friday) was a rainout. No racing but there were plenty of folks walking the pits. I usually get to Englishtown every year. What day are you planning to go?

We'll be there both Saturday and Sunday. I guess I better get an extra battery for the camera. hehehe

She should do the Half so you can run it together!

Thanks for coming to the Princess and for the support! Be sure to wear your green shirt so I can look for you. I will be wearing a sparkly magenta skirt, a black tech shirt blinged out that says "Move over Cinderella", and black CWX tights...be sure to look out for this princess!!!!!

I'm finally on the mend!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to be able to actually run but its been over a week since I last ran and I'm still not "right" yet. Will have to wait til I'm in sunny FL to shake off the cobwebs!

Good luck to all of you Princess Runners! I'll be thinking of you!

I was a bit early last week with my well-wishes. Now that I have the right weekend, good luck to all the particpants in the Princess!

Hey Ducks!!! Haven't been on in a few weeks & feelin lame about it! Headin down for the Princess tomorrow though, and hope to see some of you there! Will report back on Tuesday, if not sooner!

Good luck to all the Princess Ducks this weekend! Or would that be Duck Princesses?!? In either case, run like you mean it and have fun doing it! And report back. I'd love to hear all about it.

On a personal note, my next assignment location has been determined. I've accepted a job in Houston, so I'll be repatriating back to the US soon. What does this mean? I'll be closer to Orlando! And WDW races! Woo hoo! :dance3:

So I will be registering for the 2011 W&D Half for sure. I'm also seriously considering the 2012 January Half. Which, of course, infers that one must consider the possibility of the Coast-to-Coast medal, thus completing the DL Half (right, Joe?). Then there's the "I wanna be just like Liz when I grow up" thought, which means I'll have to seriously consider the 2012 Princess Half. Man, this move to Houston is gonna cost me a lot of money (in Disney races)! :faint:

Yay Renee! That's great you know you're heading to Houston! I hope the time passes quickly for you!

Lol you are too funny... Yeah, it'll be much easier for you to do lotso Disney races! Woohoo!

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone! I fly down tomorrow. So excited and kinda nervous. I'll post from down there. :)

I see Liz is posting on FaceBook - I am so jealous - wish I was down there too! Hopefully next year will be my first Princess Half. I am thinking of doing the W&D Relay, definitely the 5K... will anyone else be down there in October?

Funny, today I went for a walk with my husband and the whole time I felt like breaking out into a run. Guess my C25K plan is working :woohoo: Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. My DH leaves for Europe tomorrow. It's gonna be a long week...

Renee, that is nice you are back in the US. I could look this up, buthow far is Houston from Austin? Sounds like you will bea frequent visitor to WDW! I have not signed up for the W&D yet, but do have a room at the BW.

Good luck to the Princesses!

Vic, looks like the weather had dealt the Winternats a losing hand. Hope the weather holds for Gainesville.

Good morning Ducks!

Hoping everyone is doing well, and good luck to all of the Princesses!

Not much training to report. 6 last Sunday is about it.

Vic, looks like the weather had dealt the Winternats a losing hand. Hope the weather holds for Gainesville.

Augie, Looks like the weather finally broke and they got some qualifying in, and it's supposed to be a nice day today in Pomona. Keeping our fingers crossed for good weather in two weeks. We received our tickets yesterday, so I've been looking over the schedule. May try to make Friday qualifying also. hehehe

Congratulations to all the Princess Ducks that ran today:cool1:.
I made it to Main Street at 5:45 this morning and stayed till just after 7:30, I completely missed everyone. I didn't think it would be that difficult to find 4 women running in a group of 17,000 women, but it was.:scared1:
I saw Shanonn and Lauras pictures on facebook this morning, so I was looking for a women in a black shirt and tutu and another in a black shirt with hot pink tiarra, no problem, right? You guys must have been so fast you zoomed right by me. The only person I saw that I knew was a guy and he saw me first. Well good job everyone, you were awesome,:thumbsup2.
As for me I ran 2.25 miles tonight, it was my first run since last week when I was at Disney World. It felt good, I ran to Universal and back from out hotel.
We are having a good time at Universal, but after 2 days I am ready to get to Disney. We check into Old Key West on Tuesday. Harry Potterville is really cool, but clausterphobic.
Well have a good week everyone.
Joe

Joe - Hi I have a question about Harry Potter... do you think we could fit in all the attractions in 1 day? I have a HP-crazed daughter, so we are venturing out to Universal during our upcoming trip. I had planned for 2 days @ HP, but maybe we only need 1? We plan to go the week after Easter so I know it's going to be supercrazybusy. I would so love to plan for an extra day back at Disney than Universal. Thanks!

Yes on the one day. Potterville is very small and congested, but can be easily done in 5 hours. Leaving the rest of the day to do the rest of the stuff at Islands of Adventure. Their isn't much to do, but what they have is very cool. Our original plan was to spend 4 days at Universal, but we are ready to be done after 2. We are going back tomorrow for the third day and redoing the rides we liked, spend more time at Potterville and have another butterbeer (frozen not good) and I have to get my picture taken with Captain America:rotfl2:. We check out of the best western Tuesday and plan on spending the next 4 days at Disney.
Disney won't loose me to Universal.

Hi Ducks! I'm back home from my whirlwind day and a half Disney trip. As some of you saw on fb I met my goal of completing the Princess Half in under 2:30! My time was 2:28:50 :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I was in Corral C as I thought and didn't enter it until close to the start time, so I was toward the back. For the first couple miles I was doing a lot of weaving and running on the grass to get around slower people. That was frustrating. Once I got into mile 3 I found myself with people going my pace and it was much better.

Around mile 7 both my knees were hurting and my legs were just tired. I slowed down a lot and took more walk breaks than planned. I was worried for a few miles that I wouldn't meet my goal...

Thankfully at mile 10, when I knew there was "just a 5K" to go, I got a little energy spurt and picked up my pace again. I ran up that big loop at mile 11 and that gave me a confidence boost. After that I knew I was going to be good time-wise, so some relief set in and I was able to take some more walk breaks and stop to stretch my legs.

I ran to the Finish and was so happy!!! :)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I met Shannon/bounceliketigger as we were walking to the Start area! I always find it amazing how you can run into someone like that among thousands of people. It was great to meet you Shannon, and your sparkly shirt was so cute! I hope your race went well!

Laura and Erica I hope your races went well too!
