Donald's Breakfast

Has anyone done this?? How is the food?? We are thinking about doing it ~ would like opinions first............ I'm a fan of Chef Mickey's and we're having dinner there. Any other suggestions on a character breakfast??? DS is NOT interested in Cindy's ~ ~ he's not into the "princesses", at least not yet......... LOL

I have my ressie cuz I talked to a cast member and she said it was great - also having dinner at chef mickeys that night!!!

I read that it was a buffet............ is that right?? DH prefers a buffet for breakfast, so that would also be a plus.......... we aren't planning on doing it the same day as the other character meal...... we're trying to split things up. We are doing Crystal Palace for lunch our last day........... we want DS to see as many characters as possible, but spread it out over the entire length of our stay.

And we thought it was so-so. It is a buffet, I think there are 2 identical set-ups for different sides of the restaurant. The food was good, the walk to ge the food seemed a bit long (the place is kinda spread out). I thought the character interaction was OK, they seemed rushed and we only saw then once. I'm not sure we'll do it again, but I think that breakfast buffets aren't our thing (we just don't eat enough to justify it).

You did help!!!! LOL, DH likes the buffet style because he likes to eat, We did Ohana's for the character breakfast on our last trip - and we didn't like it at all. The food was not good, very greasy, overdone, burnt, runny eggs..... DH was not happy.......... but the characters were great. We've done Chef Mickey's also, and we're planning on it for dinner one night, so didn't want to do the breakfast there, unless I hear bad things about Donalds!!! LOL

We just did Donald's last week and it was ok. The food was pretty good I guess. We had eaten a lot all week and this morning was not the greatest. It was hot (like all the mornings last week) we road the bus to AK and had a crazy driver. Then we saw one Disney bus that had to run up in the grass to avoid a wreck. On our way to the bus stop at AK I saw a AK employee on the sidewalk on the ground having seizers (more employees was with her). A police car came along to block the view from the other buses coming in. Then we walked all the way from the bus stop to the entrance. It seemed like it was such a long walk. Then we finally get in the park and we have to keep walking for what seemed like forever. When we finally got to eat we were disturbed by what all we saw going into the park, tired and hot. I had walked all week in the heat and for some reason this morning was just extra hard on us. Then we sat down to eat and the computer system was down and the server wasn't good. We finally got some milk and food and by then we didn't feel much like eating lots of food. We all just kinda picked at it and then my son got sick at his stomach. We decided to go ahead and leave and take our time walking to the back of the park while it was still closed to the public. We got outside and was greeted by a man yelling at everyone to stay in the area until he gets the ok that the park was open. Well finally we got to go...only everyone else had already been let into the park and we got caught in a swarm of people headed to the back like us.
To answer your question I guess the food was pretty good but I won't eat there again. We also did chef mickeys for breakfast and loved it. If I had to pick another one for a boy I might consider Donalds again but I would have to check into all the others first. Hope you do have a great time when you go!!

We at there for the first time in June and absolutely loved it!! The food was good and a nice variety. We weren't at all rushed and the characters took their time with everyone!

we ate there in May 2004 and did not care for it. The food was pretty lousy. We had a late seating, so maybe that had something to do with it. But, they were down to one food line, and the cold buffet was lacking...it was pretty picked over.

I felt very rushed...like they were getting ready to close and wanted to move everyone out of there as fast as they could (it turns into a McDonald's at lunch time). We never got any refills, the character interaction was minimal. It just wasn't a good experience and we won't be heading back any time soon.

We liked the Crystal Palace for breakfast, and we also liked Cape May. Chef Mickey's is our favorite dinner character buffet!

We did Donalds and LOVED it. The interaction with the charaters was great and the food was good with much more choices IMHO. Our servers was funny and did magic tricks for our son and pulled lots of gags we will do his one again if we ever get to go back.

We did Donald's on Friday at 10:00 and we loved it. Typical buffet breakfast fare but the food was nice and hot. My DD loved the characters and they spent some extra time with us as it was a slow morning. The service was good and we had fun.

Besunny ~ Wow, what a morning!!!! I'm sorry all that happened on your trip! I think we might still give it a try, since we've not done it before. Hopefully, we'll be there on a good day!

We did Donald's 2 weeks ago and thought it was fine. It had a good selection of both hot and cold breakfast foods. The character interaction was just enough and our server was great, didn't rush us at all. In fact, we had more coffee and juice than we could handle! I would go back the next time we visit.
