Donald Trump's sons are morons

I think he is a moron for getting a picture published and not knowing the consequence. I would have quietly and without fanfare had it mounted and added to my trophy room.

hulagirl I am with you, I find it truly disgusting.
and really Don Jr. says "I hunt and eat game." Is he eating that elephant he hacked the tail off of??

Human beings have hunted animals since the dawn of time. You think it is wrong, so if you could you would ban the practice.

Here's what would happen:

HUnters who travel to Africa for guided safari hunts will no longer go. Fewer seats on planes, no money spent for accommodations and meals, no money spent on guides and no money paid for the hunting license or fees. The meat is no longer eaten by the hunter or donated to local indigenous peoples, who are now more destitute because they make much of theor living from guiding and hosting these hunts. The local taxidermists who make their living from tanning hides and mounting trophies also go out of business.

Personally, I would never hunt an elephant, unless it was nuisance animal that was destroying local crops and the lvlihood of the locals. But I will one day do an Africa hunt, just as I will someday do a Yukon hunt.

I'm not really seeing anything to be outraged about, unless the animals they hunted are on the endangered list and its illegal to hunt them :confused3

I wonder if Cheetah and Elephants are protected.

That being said, they are just not caving into PETA, and I dont blame them for that.

That being said, mutilation does show a lack of respect

I understand those that are hungry hunting them..but I doubt that the Trumps are "hungry people"

Yes I agree but they are the very rich people that are giving the poor something to eat. So you think the rich should not help feed the poor?

I don't understand the outrage. :confused3 I have a friend who does these kinds of hunts in Africa. They're outrageously expensive, but he gets to hunt and the villagers get meat. More importantly, they get a lot of tourist dollars. I know a lot of people who hunt here--heck, my neighbor served me bear spaghetti a couple of weeks ago. Those neighbors have lots of meat, but also a house decorated in "what I shot last year." I think it looks lovely, especially the bear throw rug.

There is a large portion of America that thinks it's okay to go to the grocery store and pick out some plastic wrapped ground slime that lived a miserable life in a stinky, crowded feed lot, but that it's somehow immoral to go out and hunt an animal that lived free. Not sure whether such a view comes from ignorance or hypocrisy. I think hunting and fishing are useful sports, and it's totally okay for the hunter to pose with his trophies. It's not disrespectful, it's kind of a cave man, beating the chest way to say "look what I got!" I wouldn't find it okay to discard the meat, but I'm pretty sure that the animals in the Trump pictures got eaten by someone.

Hunting for "sport" is beyond repulsive - and I don't quite see the sporting aspect of going on a guided tour to find where giant creatures live in social packs and then attacking them with high-powered weaponry as they stand around. I can't imagine knowing someone who did that, or who wanted to go shoot an elephant - an animal likely smarter than the hunter.

And no, there's no "need" to cull the elephant population, their population has declined precipitously over the recent decades due to this behaviour.

As a man, I don't respect people that engage in unfair fights. I see that feral hog hunting is dangerous, so some hunters refuse to do it because they could be killed. Willing to kill, yet don't want to be killed? :rotfl:We have a lot of people on earth. Should we "thin the herd" and hunt them? IMO, the need to kill something just for fun showcases your inadequacies as a man.

I'd be the first to criticize a Trump if it was warranted.

This isn't one of those situations.

They hunted and the villagers got enough meat to feed the whole village. I fail to see a problem with what they did.

My DH (who OP would probably also call a "moron" since he hunts and fishes ~ oh and we have elk and mule deer antlers on our walls) stocks our freezer with fish and meat that feeds us for a year or more.

There is a serious disconnect in this country about where food comes from.

For the same reason that we hunted the buffalo when our nation was untamed- it feeds hungry people.

Um, Europeans came over here and hunted buffalo for the fur and not for the meat.

Now if you are referring to Native Americans-they used the meat and every thing else, but European who came over here almost made the buffalo extinct.

What about women who hunt? Or did you forget that not only men do that?

As to the rest of your post, well, honestly, it's not worth he points I'd get.

I see it as no different than the people who hunt the wild hogs. Most keep the tusks as a trophy. Then they deliver the animals to be processed for use by people who aren't well off.

So you are a vegan also? No leather clothes or shoes also?

Disgusting and sad. I don't consider hunting to be a sport at all. Those morons should hang their heads in shame. Anyone who could do something that cruel to a beautiful elephant (or any of the other animals they killed) is a pathetic piece of garbage.

I see no issue here. Looks like they had a great trip.
