Donald, Eeyore, & Simba at the BeachClub with Pumpkins in Tow... Update 9/17

More of the Practice trip to 6-flags...

Not only was this a practice run to see how we would react but also a test for most of our Keen Footwear and Dry Fit Clothes, all this clothing was purchased specifically for Kali River Ride in Animal Kingdom. The true test laid ahead, 6-flags water ride, “Roaring Rapids”. Brady was the only one that didn’t have any test clothes; he just wore tennis shoes and Nike shorts and t-shirt. All of clothing came through with flying colors except for Brady’s which led him to realize that he did need a pair of Keen shoes and Dry Fit Clothing. Our clothes dried rather quickly in the 104 degrees boiling heat.

Next we were off to ride Yosemite Sam, it uses to be “Spelunkers Cave” when I was a teenager, and I don’t think it will ever be anything else in my brain. The ride was lots of fun but Parker wasn’t too sure of it until we arrived at the end. This ride features characters similar to Audio Animatronics that can be found all over DisneyWorld. So, we were really glad that Parker thought it was awesome.

Hey Carolyn...

We adventured on around to “The Texas Giant”, Brady and I decided that we would give it whirl; boy did we make a mistake. Texas Giant is an old style wooden roller coaster that literally beats the stuffing out of you and boy did it. We made a vow to never ride this ride again. We meet back up with Dave and Parker after they rode Chaparral Antique Cars, which Parker just loved, nothing like going 8 miles an hour with pedal to the metal. :lmao: We then found Elizabeth and Rae sitting on a park bench watching the boys go by. Rae is a little boy crazy.

Next we rode the Log Ride, but it was a very dry ride nothing like “Splash Mountain”

Waiting in line for the Log Ride...

Here comes "The Unlikely Trio"

WOW, Isn't that a cute family...
P1000833-1.jpg

Then on over to Spain and Mexico for every ride in that land, Parker just loved the La Vibora, or as I remember “The Bob Sled” This was one of Parker’s Favorite. He loved everything about it.

Spinning Tea Cups.. Somewhere in there is Parker & Rae.

We were now getting hungry and a little tired so we decided to eat in the park, $40.00 :scared1: later we had only 3 hamburger’s and yucky French Fries, with cokes. What a waste of money, Pappasitos would have been so much better.

A little Ice Cream to fill our tummy... We love Cold Stone Creamery.
P1000834-1.jpg

The time was getting late and we still had a 3 hour drive home. Rae was getting a little upset because she didn’t get to ride Judge Roy Scream and we had promised her, so off we went. It was so much fun and as we were getting off there stood Parker and Dave. Parker had decided that just maybe he would ride it. We waited for them to finish and guess what.

HE LOVED IT… He ended up riding it 3 times.

Here he goes...

They made it. Let's go again.

As we were leaving the park, Parker wanted to ride the swings like the big kids did.

What a fun day we had, (even though Charlie wasn’t able to go and boy did we miss him) we did find that our test had great results. A lot of our questions on what to expect in DisneyWorld was answered and now with the completion of our practice run we only have 64 more days to go… :cool1:

But as of today it’s 23 more day…:cheer2: :cheer2:

Everyday our trip gets closer and closer!!!

You have a wonderful trip report!
Your plans sound great!

What a good idea to do a practice run!
I'm glad Parker loved the rides. Sounds like he will do wonderfully at Disney!

Love the 6 flags report. That's so funny because any time we do anything with the kids, I consider it "practice" for our Disney trip! We think alike! We took them to the circus a few weeks ago, they were ok with the dark. Dinner at a local restuarant where the waiters interact with you, they were great with that. Keeping up with them in a crowded mall, not so great but we're working on that!

Looks like y'all had a great day. Just think how much fun that was and imagine how Disney is going to be 100X better!!!!

:flower3: :flower3: Love the pictures of six flags even though you are missing someone:confused: So sorry that I had to work.:sad2: But you know that Disney will be more magical :wizard: Keep working on the trip. Lots of Love

Hi! I saw your PTR link in the Y&BC photo thread and thought I'd check it out. We're staying at the BC for the first time in December so I'm curious to hear about your experience! Can't wait for more. :)

Great report so far. We will be at Whispering Canyon same day, same meal. I think we go at 1PM so if you see us give us a shout ok??

Thank you so much for checking out my PTR...:thumbsup2

This will be our 2nd time to stay at the BeachClub. It's our favorite. :yay: We have also stayed at the BoardWalk and it was fun also, but We really like the BeachClub. :beach: I'm looking forward to renovated rooms, I hope we get one. We have requested 1st floor and the building closes to Epcot. There is a door at the end of that building and when you exit it your right there on the sidewalk and 20 more steps over the bridge either to Epcot International Gateway or on over to the BoardWalk. It's also not a very far walk to the pool.

If you have any questions just give me a shout and I'll try to answer them.

Kathleen27:

Good Morning and Thank you so much for posting to my PTR...

I'm so excited about our trip, I can't wait. The practice trip was such a great idea. We were so glad that Parker did really well. We also made it over a big bridge this week. Parker started swim lessons the beginning of the summer (he hated swimming) and did really well, but we could never get him to go off of the slides or diving boards and I was beginning to get worried that he wouldn't enjoy the water parks at all and Elizabeth would be sitting with him at the wave pools while we all went and rode the slides.

Well, this past weekend he finally got the courage up and went down the slides and off the diving boards. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: We were so happy.

Looks like you will be there a week after us. I'll need to go over and check out your PTR. I see you also love Belle. She's my favorite.

Have a great weekend.

Hey Momsof2boys:
Thank you for reading my PTR...

We eat lunch at 12:40. It's going to be so much fun. I haven't told Brady my DS17 anything about Whispering Canyon, so I can't wait to play all the tricks on him. It's going to be soooooo much fun.:lmao: Look for us, we will be the big group that's loud from Texas.

I need to go over and check out your trip report.

I made it here. I am glad you invited me. Your family is so cute. I like your dh. I bet he would let you evacuate to Disney World for a hurricane. I can't convince my dh that we need to haul it over to Disney World to get away from Gustav. This afternoon it looks like we are going to get a direct hit.

I can't wait to hear about your trip. We used to take our kids to Astroworld. I miss that.

Thanks for checking out my Pretrip report.

DH is such a fanatic... So much more then I. As the trip gets closer I get really excited, but usually I have to many other things in my mind to think about Disney.

I usually do all the planning, because I'm OCD about things and he's really okay with that, he's just so excited to go. :cheer2:

You better believe we can evacuate to WDW. As a matter of fact I think that Hurricane ITSACOMINSOON is a great reason to go to Disney :thumbsup2 However I dont think west central Texas is going to see a tidal surge any time soon:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

evacuating to WDW...now THAT is dedication!!! My kind of man!!!:lovestruc

are y'all getting so excited?! It's coming up soon!!:cool1:

PS-SO glad the "practice" trip went well!!! That little Parker is a cutie and I'm thrilled that he was able to go on the big rides! He'll do GREAT at Disney!

Hey Everyone:

Yesterday I picked up DD14 - Rae from gymnastics, when she got into the car she was just sitting there. Finally she turned to me and she said,

"Mom you know what, I've been on vacation for the past 2 years and I'm really ready to go HOME". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I started laughing so hard. I loved it, she thinks that Disney is Home and she’s been on vacation for 2 years.

I told her in 17 more days she could go home.:lmao:

TexasBelle

The count down is getting so close. I text Eeyore every morning to remind her that we only have 17 days or 16 days and so on. Her responses is always "I need more time" :lmao: . Not that this trip has been planned for the past 280 days or more. :rotfl: :rotfl: Now it's 16 more days and I'm so ready.

Although Tropical Storm Hanna, Ike, Josephine, and whatever else has me a little worried but you know, a rainy day in Disney is always better then any day here at home. So I'm not going to worry (except for landing the plane:worried: I don't like to take off or land in a storm ) about it at all.

We made it over another hurdle this past week. Parker loves to swim but he has yet to slide down the "Big" :lmao: slide's at the Country Club or jump off the diving boards. This is very important because we're going to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon and we really want Elizabeth to enjoy the slides also. Well, finally Parker decided that he would go down the slides, thanks to Dad.

P1000105-1.jpg

It took him all summer to make this decision, But he did it. :cool1:

Now for the diving boards. The fish tank is really scary :scared1: expecially for a 4 year old. He would swim in there and maybe walk out to the end of the boards, but that was all. BUT, on the day that he decided to slide down the slides he thought he would jump also. He did it and loved it.

Dad in the water holding the noddle waiting for him to jump. Lifegaurd walking out with him.

The next day Rae and I came out to the pool to watch Micheal Phelps (Parker) in action.

I just got this information from Elizabeth. Tropical Storm Josephine is located behind Hanna and Ike, and was predicted to make land fall in over 2 weeks but this is sounding really great for us.

From the Weather Channel:

"Tropical Storm Josephine

Tropical Storm Josephine is in the far eastern Atlantic. It is located about 305 miles west-southwest of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands. Top winds have increased to 65 mph. There is small window for Josephine to become just a touch stronger but soon upper-level westerly winds will begin to impact and shear the tropical storm. Josephine will also begin to encounter cooler ocean waters. The two factors combined will likely weaken Josephine during the next two days.
Josephine will continue to move away from the Cape Verde Islands on a western track but then gradually turn to the west-northwest churning over the open waters of the east-central Atlantic.

Maybe the sea's will be calm after Josephine for at least 10 days. We arrive in Disney on Sept. 19th...
