Donald at Character Spot in Epcot?

Is Donald really not at the Character Spot in Epcot? KTP does not have him listed, but I really thought he was. Anyone been lately?

We were there last year and he was not in the character spot BUT we did see him and Daisy right when you walked in (just after the gate look right). They were not in their "original" clothes but it was still great to get a pic with both of them.

At Epcot, you'll find Donald (wearing a sombrero!) at Mexico. Almost never a line. I don't know why no love for Mexican Donald.

Character Spot used to have 5 of the characters for just 1 wait in an air conditioned line. So wonderful for my character loving DS. Sadly only 3 now at Character Spot.

Definitely check Kenny The Pirate's site before your trip, if character visits are important (as they are to us). For example, Char. Spot used to have Pluto, but now its Goofy (the other always near the entrance to Epcot - before the geodesic/golf ball on the right). And, the times are not "all day," so good to know the break schedule for your favorites.

Yup. A bummer, but now only three characters in that location. At least there is Caballero Donald, but what about Pluto?? Actually...wasn't he in Canada at some point in history?

I was so bummed when Donald and Pluto were kicked out of the Character Spot. It makes no sense to me. Getting to see the fab 5 all in one go with cute backdrops was so great. Get all your favorite character photos in one fell swoop. I have a particular weakness for my favorite duck in his Sailor outfit. I love Donald any time in any outfit but it's become very difficult to find him in his classic duds. Another random disney decision in which poor Donald gets the shaft. BOO.

For those who mentioned Pluto - he meets near the entrance to Epcot. Under an awning to the right just before you get to Spaceship Earth.

For those curious - Donald & Goofy left the C Spot in Oct 2012 when the C Spot went under refurbishment for FP. The other three (Mickey/Minnie/Pluto) were moved to a temporary location.

Goofy was relocated to the front of the park and Donald was highlighted at his Mexico location.

The C Spot refurbishment was completed in June 2013, so Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto moved back.

In Sept 2013, Pluto & Goofy swapped spots, Pluto moved to the front of the park and Goofy back into C Spot.

Also, I got a Disney Visa credit card solely for the meet/greet inside Innoventions (the side of Innoventions near Soarin, not Test Track). Air conditioned line, with other stuff for uninterested family members to do while you and character loving people can wait in line. (There are video games right next to the Visa line my other DS does while he waits for us.)

You will meet 2 of the fab 5 together at once. They rotate every 20 or 30 minutes (a photographer told me once but I can't remember), and its either Mickey/Pluto or Minnie/Goofy. You get 1 free 5x7 photo (hard print out) on your way out at the photo shop to the left of the big golf ball, and can even personalize it with borders, signatures of the characters, etc.

If you go right at 1pm it can be a long wait. They will check for your Visa card before they let you in line, and give you a paper voucher for the free print. And, they won't tell you who the characters are (and hassle you if you try to ask someone leaving - fair enough, as they could change before you get to the front of the line). They only do this m/g 1pm to 7pm. (of course, characters and timing can change anytime, so check before you go).

DS is always confused when we go to the Visa m/g right after character spot - he wonders how the 2 changed clothes and got there so quickly.

Tip: Don't leave the Visa m/g for the last minute - on your wait out of Epcot. Your photo is not available immediately (for the free print out). They say 30 minutes but I've gotten it faster than that. Sometimes you can convince the photo shop person to give you another photo free, but they are supposed to only give you a print of the Visa m/g session (and only 1 print is free).
