I was thinking of staying at the Dolphin for 1 night, say a Thursday night.

If I show up Thursday 7am and drop of luggage and drop off the car, then walk to Hollywood Studios and then stay the day there. Then, walk back later to check into the room, spend Thursday night at Dolphin and then wake up Friday morning, check out, but store the luggage in the lobby and then drive the car to AK (without paying for parking?) and then pick up the luggage at the end of the night?

Is that likely to happen or will I get charged for 1 or 2 nights of parking (spending 2 nights, but it is more than 24 hours)?

Will I get the benefits of the 60 days out Fastpass reservations for the Thursday AND Friday or just one of them? Am I eligible for after hours or early entry type events?

The Dolphin gets 60 day FP and EMH just like the onsite resorts and Disney Springs hotels. The fastpass window will be open for your check in and check out date, and you should only be charged for parking if your car is there overnight. However, the hotel may not be willing to hold your luggage after checkout beyond a certain time, so you'd want to check with them directly. If you have a car, why not just store your luggage in the trunk once you check out? It would save you a trip back to Dolphin before you leave.

Dolphin will hold guest luggage as long as needed on check-out day. There are plenty of guests there who have to check out at 11 am, but won't be traveling out of Orlando until later in the day.

Wow! This would be awesome. I am guessing I could walk easily to HS and then the other day how much of a pain is it to take the bus?

It wouldn't be too hard - just walk over to the Boardwalk/Beach club and grab a bus from there to AK.

The Swan and Dolphin share a Disney bus. So you just need to walk out to the bus stop at the Dolphin. Not a pain at all.

Swan/Dolphin offer Disney-operated transportation to all WDW parks. They share Friendship boats to DHS/EP with BC/YC/BWI and have their own buses to MK and AK. There is no need to walk to BWI or BC to get a bus to AK.
