We're taking our first trip to Disneyworld on 03/20. Geograpically it would have been smarter to go to Disneyland -- oh, well. My question is DD14 really wants to go to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins. I would imagine I've left that too late (as usual) but I really don't want to pay admission for her and myself and DH. Is there another option, i.e. another place she can swim with the dolphins.

I don't know of any other place in Orlando.

BUT..... I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Discovery Cove. It's an oasis. No crowds, all inclusive. I was hesitant about the cost initially, but DH doesn't want to go anywhere in Orlando but DC now. They completely spoiled our family. :cloud9:

I have experienced swimming with the dolphins in many locations including Discovery Cove. However, I find the dolphin swim encounter at Discovery Cove very limited and will not recommend it. There is a "Dolphins in Depth" at EPCOT. I have not done this one but heard good reviews about it. You can call EPCOT for more info.

We have done dolphin swims at a few places and I really think they are all about the same and the experience is awesome!! Well worth the money.

I found this info for you: marineland.net/programs.htm It's in St. Augustine - probably 1.5 hrs. from Orlando. Other than that you'll have to go to Miami or the Keys.

Here is the Epcot info: disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/tourDetail?id=DolphinsInDepthTourPage . You only go waist deep. At DC, you do waist deep activities then go in deep water for a ride in on the dolphin. It may be good for what you're looking to do though.
