Dolphin / Swan teacher discounts?

I am not a teacher, but I work for a University.....does anyone know what the rules are for the discount? I've seen on several sites that you need to show a recent pay stub - which I can easily do. Do I need to show anything else in addition? (just want to make sure I can qualify).

Also, anyone know the "blackout" dates for these kind of discounts? I've tried going to the offical site and looking up dates at the end of Sept / beginning of Oct (2004) and it always comes back that there are no discounts during the weeks I'd like to travel. We're going in 2005. If I booked a year in advance, could I get the discount?

I was under the impression that you needed to show your teaching credentials (ie: certification at check in). If it is only a paystub, couldn't anyone use a teacher's discount?

It states:
"If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or if you are employed in a school as a educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discount. This would include teacher’s aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require a Work ID or letter from their supervisor on company letterhead verifying employment or a recent pay stub. "

I would be considered administrative staff at a University.....but has anyone here used this discount if you are in the "administrative staff" catagory? Did you need anything else besides a pay stub?

I, too, am a college administrator...had reservations at the Dolphin for August (but had to cancel, unfortunately)...was told to bring my photo ID. It's best to call for your own peace of mind, though. That's what I did! Hope this helps.

I recently went and just had the teacher that I work under write a letter for me on our school's letter head.
No problem!

I am a college professor type, and the discount applies to folks like you and me. We were at the Swan in March, and I booked with Dreams Unlimited for a very good room and the very good discount price. No blackout date problem, and this was spring break of 2003, booked in January of 2003

As proof of employment I took a pay stub, my College ID, and a copy of our Web page listing me as a member of the Department at the College.

The frindly folks at the front desk were very cool, and we really enjoyed our stay. You'll get a very nice room and a superior location for very little of your mortal money (Muppet Christmas Carol). Good luck and enjoy.
