Dolphin Hotel So Cheap on Hotels.com...Why?

What kind of status? SPG status? We have rooms booked for November 2018 and we're wondering about getting the resort fees waived. Thanks!

I can only speak for myself. I stayed mid-late Sept; I was plat with spg and marriott. Not looking for parking fees.

Also, I've never in my life planned a year plus in advance so that may play a part.

even with resort fees added, $200 per night is a good rate. We add ~$50 per day to the rate which covers resort fees and either parking or transportation to/from MCO. You get EMH, FP+ at 60 days and Disney transportation around WDW. The Location is unbeatable for the price.

The DME is fine upon arrival, but we always book our own transportation to return to MCO (4 hours or more before departure is too early for many flights)..

The renovations at the Dolphin should be wonderful! We stayed in a refurbished room last winter and it was fabulous! Comfortable, beautiful, fresh and convenient.

Enjoy your stay!

Thanks everybody for the replies

Our 5 day trip at this time ran us about $1,200 bucks through hotels.com (with ALL fees included) + just under $1,000 bucks for park hopper tickets

The same package WITHOUT park hopper tickets would have cost us roughly $2,900 bucks booking through Disney. So we are probably saving round 700-1000 bucks going through hotels.con

The only thing I did not realize is that we are going to have a hell of a time getting the Disney reservation number and linking to MDE to book our fast passes early. Although, if we can't book until 30 days out it is still well worth it considering the money we saved.

Update for anyone who is interested:

Called hotels.com and they gave me the Disney reservation number no problem. I'm not sure what all the fuss was about online about not being able to get it. I should be able to make FP's when we buy tickets tonight

You will enjoy the Dolphin - great location (walk to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Boardwalk) with all of Disney's park-to-park transportation - boats and buses.

If you have not purchased tickets, yet, you may want to check out Undercover Tourist, which offers a ticket discount. It's a very reliable company, and you can link tix to MDE.

You can book at 60 days when you stay there.

Also, I doubt very much that Hotels.com added the resort fee of $28/day. Did you double check that? Also, there is a specific tax that they can't legally charge you until you check in. There are usually two taxes...state and "locality. One of those won't be charged until you arrive, so be prepared.

Does that also include resort fees?

You are correct, that does not include resort fees and taxes but the $1200 figure I citied did include the resort fees and taxes.

My math was a little wrong though, I just priced it all out on the Disney website and all together my vacation package through Disney would have cost $2,828. Booking separately, we are paying right at $2,200. Still a savings of $628 which is pretty darn good if you ask me.

We are staying 5 nights, doing 3 Disney park days (with park hoppers) + 1 universal day
