Dolphin Encounter - Nassau or Freeport?

Hi - this board is the best.. thanks for all the tips so far. This will be our first trip to WDW and we are psyched!

I am wondering if anyone can give me advice on which dolphin encounter shore excursion is best.. there seems to be 2 different ones in Nassau and one in Freeport...

We didn't do the dolphin encounter in either places but in Freeport we did the Lucayan Beach day and it was great! The pool there was so nice and the beach was feet away!

We did the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau at Blue Lagoon Beach, and we loved it. Buy the video and picture album- I wish I had! Personally, I didn't care for either port. Other than the Dolphin Encounter, I would stay on the ship.

We did the dolphin encounter in Freeport and loved everything about it including the ride to the encounter and back! We got quite a bit of time with the dolphins and then when they took us back from the short boat ride there was a marketplace to shop in. We shopped for awhile and then took the transportation back to the ship and just chilled the rest of the day on the boat!

We loved both ports and have good things about the dolphin experience in Nassau but we chose freeport because hubby and I wanted to dive Nassau.

We did the Dolphin Encounter in Freeport and really enjoyed it even though it was pouring rain the whole time! Trainers tell you about the dolphins, the dolphins do some tricks for you and then you are broken into groups where you are allowed to touch the dolphins and get a kiss from them. It was a great experience (even in the rain)!

We went to Blue Lagoon Island in Nassau, but did the Stingray excursion there. We loved Blue Lagoon Island! The island is just like what I pictured a tropical island would look like.

I think doing the Dolphin Encounter in Freeport might be a good idea because there isn't a lot of other things to do there. On the other hand, you can easily spend a whole day on Blue Lagoon Island without doing the Dolphin Encounter.
